Artificial Heart Pump. Impeller design.
Artificial Heart Impeller Design My one claim to fame was an impeller flow theory I developed many years ago. It all started with the idea that a military submarine could be propelled silently underwater. The flow would avoid a condition known as cavitation by removing elements from the mechanical setup of an impeller system. One of the applications of this device has been in shear sensitive nanoparticle colloidal suspensions. These are fluids that are very similar to milk, but extremely shear sensitive. In other words, if the impeller hits them too hard during the pumping process, the liquid turns into cream. That's bad. The origin of this application came from a process in the cancer therapy field. The liquid was an extremely shear sensitive material with delicate long chain polymers. During the mix phase, these long chains would break when pumped with conventional "screw-like" impellers. My design avoids that stress, and the material can be mixed. The recent nanoparti
How do you create a test plan/design?
Test scenarios and/or cases are prepared by reviewing functional requirements of the release and preparing logical groups of functions that can be further broken into test procedures. Test procedures define test conditions, data to be used for testing and expected results, including database updates, file outputs, report results. . Test cases and scenarios are designed to represent both

Sony recognizes the importance of design, and they have the talent for good looking computers. The Vaio LB92 slimtop is about bringing style to your room. Rarely would one think of the PC in the room as a design object, but the LB92 subtly makes that transition. The slimtop is mounted in a glass frame, a look we have also seen on Sony's large screen plasma and LCD televisions. The keyboard is connected and folds up when not in use. This immediately cleans up the surrounding space, and starts an attractive Vaio screensaver on the remaining portion of the display. The rest of the computer is hidden behind the 15.4" widescreen WXGA (1280 x 800) display. A camera is mounted at the top of the LB92, and of course there is a built-in speaker and mic. This is great for Skype videoconferencing. Other specs include an Intel Core Duo T5600 (1.83 GHz) processor and 2gb RAM (max).
How Lunar Design Made PC Games More Tactile
Here's a trick question (or two): How do you design a consumer-electronics device that has no precedent in the marketplace? Say, a miniature robot that can be used by both players of entertainment PC games and doctors? In other words, a controller for on-screen simulations, from shoot-'em-up war scenes to surgical practice sessions. And what if you're challenged to design this mini-robot so that it can also provide a sense of 3D touch and texture, such as moving through liquid or passing over bumps? Finally, what if your last task as a designer was to ensure that this ultra-sophisticated game controller could be made from materials and mechanisms so affordable that the device would cost approximately $200, qualifying it as a mass-market item? This is exactly the challenge that the design team at Bay Area-based Lunar Design faced when creating the Falcon, a new type of haptic, or tactile, PC game controller that was released last week by Novint Technologies (NVNT), a maker of 3D touc
Three Common Elements Of Website Design
The average webmaster is not always aware of the importance of some of the basic principles and elements of website design. Make Your Interior Design Look Perfect By Windows Decorating
Windows are a vital part of any decorating style but they are often forgotten. It's not hard to understand how something so ordinary as windows might be overlooked. Yet, windows are essentially a central part of your interior design. To really make your room design wonderful, try implementing some of the window decorating tips below. The right window treatments can work wonders to transform your decorating theme. For example, if your decorating theme has a wood based feeling - such as plantation or rustic style, adding wood blinds instead of curtains or drapes will help keep the windows in style with the rest of the decor. Light filtering through slightly drawn wooden blinds not only offers a soft, hazy look, but the way the sun reflects off wood can also give your room a lovely glow. If your design style requires a simple design, then you might consider vertical blinds for your windows. You can purchase them in several colors and styles making them a good alternative to heavier looki
Do Your Own Landscaping Design
Know what I love about getting the garden all cleaned up, it stays that way for much longer than when you get your home all cleaned up. More and more people are turning to landscaping their gardens, not just planting a tree here and a shrub there but looking at their garden as they would look at the inside of their home. More thought as to the overall look and appeal and how plants can compliment each other. The results are very rewarding. There is so much help too if you are not confident in the planning, your nursery, wonderful landscaping books, TV and radio shows and the Internet are all there waiting to guide you. Be careful with books, make sure the book is for your area and the plants suggested for a design are suitable for your part of the world. It's fun to get a graph pad and do your own design, give it a try and you could surprise yourself. One word of advice, if you purchase plants from the big chain stores and they have been in air- conditioning or inside a building
