Paul D. Miller, also known as DJ Spooky, That Subliminal Kid, has been producing beat-heavy electronic music for more than a decade. From his early solo trip-hop efforts to his more recent collaborations with jazz giants, Spooky has always approached music from multiple angles at once. He has the chops of a musician, the genre-blending………. DJ spooky is kind of a hack. I’m pretty sure he just read the book Wikinomics and applied all of those ideas to music tech. He even uses the exact subtitle of the book “Mass collaboration changes everything”… like he just thought of that on the spot. I like the guy, but I think he fancies himself some kind of philosophical hero. Hes more of a scholarly know it all than a DJ.
