Do Blogging Styles Matter?
I subscribe to a lot of blogs and read them religiously. Lots of reasons to do so, but one that stands out above all else is inspiration. Blogging is writing. It may lack the formal professorial elements and not have publishers, editors and the like scanning the prose with a red ink pen, but it’s still writing. One of my favorite bloggers, Lorelle VanFossen, today delves into some subject matter that too often we don’t tend to explore, but belongs, or at least should rise to some level of personal consciousness. We all know folks out there who have made their mark ranting and raving their way through the blogosphere in some Jim Rome kinda blowhard way. For many this works and I fully admit being an avid subscriber to some of these guys (if for no other reason to get a good laugh every once in a while). For others this approach just doesn’t meet their needs and could be hazardous to what they are trying to accomplish. In the end, it’s personal choice th

Blogging to Get Poor Communities Talking
Damaria SenneI recently suggested to the CEO of the Universal Service and Access Agency of South Africa (USAASA) that he start a blog for his organisation. My explanation to him was much shorter, but I decided to elaborate on this blog post why universal service agencies in developing countries need to use web technologies to expand their communications reach.USAASA was formed through the Electronic Communications Act, so it’s a government entity. It’s responsible for making sure that people living in remote regions of the country, and those who are poor, gain access to telephones, the Internet, TV and radio. The agency has also built over two 230 multipurpose centres and over 150 telecentres across the country, and will build more over time. Poor communities use these centres to access phones, computers and the Internet at minimal cost.So why did I think this agency should start blogging?1. Connecting to partners- I think a blog is a perfect way for the agency to talk to its stakeh

Blogging Mix Update
After working for over a week, I have finally implemented Blogging Mix's new template. That explains why most of the posts that have been featured here lately are revived from my archive. Anyway, the idea has worked well and the revived posts were able to receive new comments. Surprisingly, the revived posts received more blog reactions as reported by Technorati than it were when first published.Over the past weeks, a lot has happened around the Blogosphere. Google has finally updated it's most awaited Page Rank. Although Blogging Mix's Page Rank was predicted to be a 5, I'm satisfied and happy with 4. It's not actually a bad page rank considering that Blogging Mix is less than 5 months old.Why The Changes? When I've requested for feedback and comments from the BlogCatalog Community about my new template, most of the comments were positive. The decision to change Blogging Mix's template was for the purpose of monetization. I've not been able to fully monetize Blogging Mix with i

Blogging Mastery And Helping The Grammacatible Challenged
First, thanks to all for the kind words regarding my family.  Mom is still sick, but not life-threateningly so.  Beth and I hope she’ll be well enough to come up here for the holidays.  Thanks again.  You guys are great. Now then.  It’s taken me almost a year, but I have found the secret to having a successful blog.  It’s quite easy, really.  Okay, get out your notebooks.  The rules for having a blog lots of people come to visit are: 1.  Stop blogging.  Really.  It worked for me.  I received 50% more visits the last week (while I wasn’t online) than I usually do.  Go figure. This means that my most successful posts must be the ones I don’t put up.  However, I’m going to take a chance at infuriating my readers and put up a post today.  I’m doing this because The Frog Bog is about helping.  It’s about public service.  It’s about finding the potato chip bag of need and carefully opening the vacuum packing of servi

Will be blogging more often here
It seems that this is where I will be blogging often, because as you know the higher your page rank is the more posts you will have. I actually thought about blogging only on my custom domain blogs, but that is okay if I have two blogs without my own custom domain names, to back me up every once in a while. It is fun to blog if you don't run out of ideas about what to share...LOL. I want to try to be a quality blogger where my posts are worth reading. That is what keeps visitors from coming back. Take it from me, I have been blogging since Feb, 2004, yah know.MySpace Comments / Glitter Graphics
Michael Gray's Video Message - What Blogging Mix has to say?
Before reading the rest of this post, please take some time to watch what Michael Gray of Graywolf SEO Blog has to say about bloggers who blog about Search Engine Optimization.SummaryIt was by accident that I stumbled upon Michael Gray's video containing words of discouragement to bloggers who have decided to blog about the same topic that he does... SEO. According to his video, bloggers who blog about SEO should step away from their keyboard because he doesn't need them. Michael further added that he has searchengineland, marketingpilgrim, threadwatch and searchenginewatch. At the end of the of the video, Michael pointed out that if bloggers don't add value to the conversation, or bring about unique perspective then they might as well stop blogging. As one of the many bloggers who have choosen SEO as one of my topics in my blog, I don't think that Michale Gray's video make sense. In fact, some of his messages are anti-SEO.Today, I've decided to give my own advice to my fellow blo

7 Blogging Mistakes that Bloggers do When Building Links
Almost all bloggers will agree that 'Links' are very important for a blog to be ranked high on Google's search result. The more links you have the better your page rank is. As a result, a lot of bloggers end up doing all possible ways and means to get links from ANY blog even if the blog they're getting links from are not directly related to theirs. Here are some of the common practices that bloggers employ to be able to create a link to their blogs.1. Comment on blog posts of other blogs.2. Exchange links to other blogs.3. Submit Blog to Directories4. Submit Articles to Article Directories5. And the list goes on and on…I will not deny the importance or the value of links for every blog's performance in the search engines' ranking.
