The Blogging Will Continue Until Morale Improves
This post will be randomly updated and bumped up as the week continues and then be deleted prior to my sweetheart's return.I have 5 days days alone due to a teachers conference in Dallas. This will invariably lead to a higher number of blog posts this week. Since I rarely go that long without some sort of supervision invariably I start doing things that aren't tolerated around the house like:Eat nothing but sausage for 24 hours.Get Bandit (her dog) and the cat drunk and see if a catdog really is possible.Have a BBQ and only invite the neighbor's dogs.Do a rain dance so I don't have to mow the lawn.Call local microbreweries and see which ones offer home delivery.Practice raising an undead army on roadkillThe above list will be updated at a whim.Note: Items listed in red may or may not have happened. I reserve the right to maintain plausible deniability at all times.Day 1:9:30am The reality hasn't quite set in due to lack of coffee.10:07am Annoyed cat for half an hour with laser poi

Blogging Mania Likely To End Soon
Could blogging be near the peak of its popularity? The technology gurus at Gartner Inc. (IT) believe so. One of the research company’s top 10 predictions for 2007 is that the number of bloggers will level off in the first half of next year at roughly 100 million worldwide. The reason: Most people who would ever dabble with Web journals already have. Those who love it are committed to keeping it up, while others have gotten bored and moved on, said Daryl Plummer, chief Gartner fellow. “A lot of people have been in and out of this thing,” Plummer said. “Everyone thinks they have something to say, until they’re put on stage and asked to say it.” That’s no knock on blogging. Plummer noted that this leveling-off dynamic plays out all the time, though it often comes as a bit of a surprise when it hits things that had achieved quick popularity.Another Gartner forecast states that regulatory compliance ? a time-consuming issue in the post-Enron b

Blogging You
It was not that too long ago when I first discovered the Internet. And it’s kind of embarrassing because I was already attending college at that time. How naïf I was. And that first picture I vividly saw on screen was Rose and Jack of Titanic. :hide: Since then, Internet became a place to devour. It was through this network that I was able to customize my PC’s wallpaper with celebrity images. It

Blogging
A little off the subject for me today, but my brain is full of RSS feeds and tagging and widgets.  Blogging is a rapidly growing and changing world!  At least for my generation ? hey, I grew up with Pong, I have a lot to learn!  As a self-published author I?ve done most of my marketing online so I?m constantly searching for more places to put my stuff.  Thanks to my smart and wonderful stepdaughters, I?ve entered the world of blogging and social networking sites.  It?s been a great way to keep myself involved in the topics that interest me, and to find other like-minded people.  Here?s to all the people that work hard coming up with new gadgets, designs and ideas.  I look forward to more.   However this rapid advancement can also mean that you can do something on one site that you can?t do yet on another.  Frustration at Blogger led me to Wordpress and I?m happy to find some things are easier there; on the other hand, since I?m not into CSS yet (hey, I can find HTML code now and know w

When I'm Not Blogging
Despite good intentions and not-as-good efforts, blogging has fallen off over the past couple of months. I'm pleased to report that there's a good reason.I've gotten to the text phase of my novel. It's been longer in production than I care to admit. I started writing it in the 1980s. It was going to be "Left Behind" before there was a market for "Left Behind."Then I read The Gulag Archipelago (the whole thing--I was riding the bus to and from work every day and had lots of time), and the idea that American Evangelical Christians would get a free pass on persecution seemed empty. But I still had these characters and their experience seemed to have the capacity to go deeper, and so it changed and changed and changed, and I "finished" it. That was in the mid-90s, I think. So I tried to market it. I got some "good" rejections (if you don't write, you probably don't know that there are levels of rejections, sort of like Dante's hell, but I'll spare you the misery; if you do write, you
Essential Blogging Tools
Feed Reader The best way to learn about blogs and blogging is to read, or at least scan, lots of blogs. One of the wonders of blogs is that you can have every new post from every blog you want to read delivered to your desktop or to online location via RSS, so you can easily read and scan the posts of many blogs in a very short time. Newsgator is a good online choice for feed reading and also has a version that integrates with Outlook. You can also use a free online service known as Bloglines. Subscriber Centre You need to make it easy for your blog visitors to subscribe to your blog’s RSS feed — so they can read your blog in their favorite feed reader. The best way to do this is to go to FeedBurner and burn your own RSS feed there and use the tools they provide to set up automatic subscriber links so people who want to use Bloglines, Google Reader, MyYahoo or Pluck, for instance, can click on one button to subscribe. Email Subscription Option A lot of people will never get the

6 Blogging Myths That Are Holding You Back
By the hammer of Thor there's a lot of blogging myths out there; myths that keep you from generating more online leads and building lasting relationships with clients. The problem with these myths is that if they're not challenged they turn into conventional wisdom. If you've been looking to drive more traffic to your Web site and improve communications with customers, you owe it to yourself to give a business blog a try.Below are some of the hurdles--exaggerated or imagined--I've heard business owners use to avoid starting a blog, and real-world experience to debunk these myths.1) My customers don't read blogs. I hear this all too often by business owners who don't completely understand what a blog is. Now, perhaps your customers don't subscribe to any blogs, or they don't return daily to a favorite blog. Beginners Guide to Blogging

5 Reasons Blogging is the New Internet Marketing Tool
5 Reasons Why Blogging is the New Internet Marketing Tool Blogging is a concept that started in late 90s. It used to be a way to comment an existing webpage, an opportunity for visitors and readers to react or voice out one?s opinion on the said page. What started as a single-sentence commentary has evolved into pages of personal take on just about anything and everything under the sun. As it continues to move forward, online advertising has tapped into the blog?s potential. Here are 5 reasons why you should use blogging as an Internet marketing tool. 1.Blogging is simple. The simplest way to get your piece on the net is through blogging. No skills are necessary? an average adult can read and type, or at least click a mouse. It?s like having a virtual piece of paper and you just write your ideas, experiences, new products, and hope that the truth behind your articles comes out and entice your reader to also try your product. If you have a PC and an Internet connection (who doesn?t?)
Blogging 101
Blogging 101 If writing is an art, then, blogging is one way of using words to come up with an art. This is because people who are into blogging are the ones who are artistic on their own sense, carefully choosing words that would best describe their feelings, sentiments, wishes, desires, and everything. Basically, blogs were first introduced as weblogs that refer to a ?server?s log file.? It was created when web logging hit the virtual market. Since its inception in the mid-1990s, web logging gradually saturated the virtual community making the Internet a viable source of greater information. However, with web logging, you still need a web site and domain names, but with blogging, you do not need anything just an account with blog providers. In most cases, these kinds of blogs are free of charge. With the onset of blogging in the industry, personal journaling had been a common ground for people who wish to be known all over the world. However, not literally famous as this is not a
