The Nokia iPhone was dropped on the world during the launch of the 8 GB Nokia N95 and the N81, if you look at the video clip below you will see what we mean by “direct copy of Apple’s phone”. It looks not only sleek but a direct copy of the Apple iPhone and we are sure the Apple lawyers might also be interested. After watching the video I also noticed that the interface is just like the iPhones, but to add to the fire is what Nokia’s Executive VP (Anssi Vanjoki) said at a Q&A session, “If there is something good in the world then we copy with pride”. That does make sense, but can they really do that? Nokia may be aiming to take the best of the most hyped phone in history (The iPhone) and also improve on the weaknesses like its slow internet connection speeds, locked to one network, poor camera and high price. It's official. There has been speculation and rumors surrounding the internet about a large event Apple will be having in early September. According to the Engadget post about the event, it will be held September 5th, which is shown by a nice visual. Clearly this announcement will be about iPods, as the guy in the picture is indeed holding one. I personally can't wait. I'm tired of my old iPod that can just play music, and videos. I want something new. Best case senario for me is that there's an all new touchscreen iPod, running OS X (ala iPhone) with WiFi and an Internet browser, as well as video playback, and an FM tuner, if that's not too much to ask for... It has been reported that Sheryl Crow, Avril Lavigne and Fiona Apple will highlight the first Girlfrenzy festival, an all-day affair which is due to take place on the 27th October at the Verizon Wirelass Amphitheatre in Irvine CA. The promoters of the festival which are Right Arm Entertainment and Live Nation plan to announce more performers in the coming weeks. Apple has signed contracts with 3 European phone networks to exclusively sell the new iPhone, expected in late 2007 in Europe. The iPhone, which was made available in June in the United States, is expected to be released in the UK, France and Germany only, and will be released in Asia in 2008. The three lucky networks are T-Mobile of Germany, Orange of France and O2 of the UK. They are bound by contract to give 10% of all profits and data transfer back to Apple in exchange for their exclusive right to sell the phone. Despite this obvious financial loss, the phone companies have claimed that it is worth it for the boost of image that is expected from being the only sellers of the phone, and the swarm of customers with high rates of spending on calls which will be attracted to the phone. As you know the software that you are using on your Apple iPhone is version 1.0.1, but there is a new software update 1.0.2 available which fixes hacks and other bugs. The maintenance software update although small still is an important fix for the iPhone and helps to improve the stability of this cell phone. All you need to do is dock your iPhone to your Mac or PC and then select that device in iTunes, you then need to click Check for Update, software update 1.0.2 should only take about a minute this update will supersede any other update that has been made.
