SomosMAC
Microsoft is Stupid, Apple is not…
Jim Lynch says that the problem isn’t Windows users… It’s Microsoft! My boss Lance recently wrote a column about how Macs need security software too. In his column he pointed out that Mac users are no smarter than Windows users. I respect where Lance is coming from, we’re all human and quite capable of making mistakes. However, I think he got it wrong. It’s not necessarily just about the users, it’s also about the companies and people who create the operating systems that we use each day. Frankly, there’s no other way to say this: Microsoft is stupid and Apple is not. Technorati Tags: Windows, microsoft, Apple, Mac, Users

Apple’s iPhone is One Great Gadget
The Apple iPhone is definitely on my favorite list of new gadgets.   The iPhone has taken the cell phone industry by storm.  And for good reason.  It’s lightweigt, sleek and very easy to use.  It looks great too.  It has a bright and responsive touchscreen.  The iPhone hit the market last June and is easily the best in the Smartphone category.  While most Smartphones are extremely difficult to use, the iPhone is refreshingly easy to use.  And it does everything from Google mapping to graphically displayed voice mail.  You can buy the iPhone for just $400. and that is a bargain, given all the revolutionary capabilities that it has.  You can buy an iPhone at any Apple Retail Outlet or any AT&T Store.  With 300 patents, the iPhone is lightyears ahead of any other smartphone out there.

FCC Set To Enforce Hearing Aid Mandate.....Unless You Are Apple
February 18th is the date the FCC can begin to enforce its 50% rule when it comes to handset manufactures and hearing aide compatibility, unless of course you're Apple and we're talking about the iPhone. You can read the complete article here on RCRNEWS.com . It seems the FCC has granted Apple and the iPhone immunity under the "de minimis exemption". This exception was intended to protect "small" manufacturers that produced only a handful of handsets. Should the behemoth that is Apple fall under this category? We will let the FCC make that decision, but if you ask us the spirit of this exemption was not to protect the Apple's of the world. The FCC stated they will not actually begin to enforce this law until 2 months after February 18th. AndroidGuys | The most trusted site for Android news and opinion.
Poor Man's Apple TV
This is a very cool mod. It is not really like the Apple TV at all, but it is cool nonetheless. Someone thought it would be cool to increase the size of the small iPod Nano screen, so that it would be easier to watch. To do so, he modified an old slide viewer to fit his Nano in it. By doing so, the video playing would be enlarged to fit the viewers screen, and viola, you have a larger screen for easy viewing. It looks fairly simple to do, but the screen itself is fairly large. Very cool though, one problem is that you have to set it so your movies play upside down, as the way you insert the iPod is upside down. I don't know how that is done, but apparently it's possible, and probably not too difficult. Enjoy the provided video.Thank you for subscribing to my blog!

Apple Sells 4 Million iPhones: Software Update Announced
During his keynote address at MacWorld 2008 today, Steve Jobs announced Apple has sold 4 million iPhones since the smartphone’s introduction late June of last year. That's an average of 20,000 iPhones per day over 200 days. While that number is not unexpected, it is still wow inducing. It also places Apple, with 19.5 percent of the market, behind only smartphone leader Research In Motion and its BlackBerry devices in the U.S.Jobs also confirmed Apple's intention to release a software developer kit (SDK) in February. The SDK would allow for the creation of 'official' native applications by developers. Currently, only unofficial software can run directly on the iPhone, which you must jailbreak first—a process too complicated, too much trouble or too much of a risk for many iPhone users. As expected, Jobs officially announced the latest software upgrade for the iPhone, version 1.1.3. A video outlining a leaked version of this upgrade appeared a couple of weeks ago. The new featu
Super-slim laptop by Apple
Apple Inc. Chief Executive Steve Jobs took the wraps off a super-slim new laptop at the Macworld trade show on Tuesday, unveiling a personal computer less than an inch thick that turns on the moment it's opened.Jobs also confirmed the consumer electronics company's foray into online movie rentals, revealing an alliance with all six major movie studios to offer films over high-speed Internet connections within 30 days after they're released on DVD.Always a showman, Jobs unwound the string on a standard-sized manila office envelope and slid out the ultra-thin MacBook Air notebook computer to coos and peals of laughter from fans at the conference. At its beefiest, the new computer is 0.76 inches thick; at its thinnest, it's 0.16 inches, he said. It comes standard with an 80-gigabyte hard drive, with the option of a 64GB flash-based solid state drive as an upgrade. The machine doesn't come with a built-in optical drive for reading CDs and DVDs, a feature Jobs says consumers won't miss

Apple TV Was Jobs’ Big Splash Yesterday at MacWorld
Despite what some critics are sure to be saying today about the lack of a big announcement from Steve Jobs at MacWorld, there was some big news. First, the improvements to the iPhone are unbelievable. I’ve already tested the Google Maps stuff and the ability to modify the phone’s homepage icons, etc. With these small but meaningful improvements, a phenomenal product has become even that much better. The release of 3rd party modifications later this year will unleash a whole new wave of innovation. But the big news yesterday, even considering the new ultra-thin laptop, was the Apple TV. With newly announced movie rentals from iTunes and tweaks to Apple TV that make it possible to connect a TV directly to the web without a computer, there is no doubt that Apple TV will be THE device that finally brings the web into the living room and onto the TV. (I think it already was to some extent, but the need for a computer somewhere in the equation did make it slightly cumbersome). S
