It looks like nothing may remain hidden this season 7 of American Idol in 2008. Earlier this week we told you how the Top 50 singers had been allegedly spoiled by some sneaky MySpace investigations and now we’re back with another shocker! Simon Cowell’s audition round play things (um, that’s nice for his man boobs, watch the video below) seem to have vanished in the off season. American Idol season 7 for 2008 hasn’t even begun and already there’s talk of spoilers. Each year we get weeks and weeks of hilarious auditions full of folks of like Sanjaya, but thankfully most of them don’t make it as far as he did. So after all the weeks of auditions have completed we see the top few dozen of singers move on to Hollywood. Personally, the whole process of whittling our way down to those heading to Hollywood is just fluff, and while it’s entertaining it’s not terribly important for the season. Chris Daughtry one of the fans favorite performers during the ‘06 season of American Idol just won the Breakthrough Artist Award on tonights American Music Awards. Just on the unlikely chance you haven’t heard it on the radio, Daughtry’s song Home was a huge hit this year, reaching #1 on the charts. The award was presented by last year’s Breakthrough Artist winner and fellow American Idol performer Carrie Underwood. Also in attendance at the AMA are American Idol contestants Jordin Sparks and Kellie Pickler. Update #1: Carrie Underwood just won Best Female Country Artist. It's time for American Idol updates. Most of the contestants in that show became popular and famous. They have their own respective careers. In fact many of them launched their singles this year and some hit the charts. American Idol’s Simon Cowell also judges on a number of other shows including the X Factor which is the biggest television talent competition in Europe. During one of these auditions, 46 year old singer Jacqui Gray’s voice sounded exceptionally peculiar. Simon told her “Something weird happens in your throat when you sing.” Now this sounds like one of Simon’s usually caustic remarks however this time Simon and fellow judge Sharon Osbourne thought Jacqui’s voice sounded so unusual that they encouraged her to seek medical attention. After the audition Gray went to see her doctor who forwarded her to a specialist. As it turns out, Gray had a potentially fatal lung condition which if undiagnosed could have killed her. Her condition is now being treated with with drugs and physiotherapy. American Idol 6’s ratings were way down and it seems that the show continues to prove to be less popular than its predecessors. At its halfway point of the tour the top 10 finalists are far less popular than the tour last year and even the one in 2005. It’s been reported that nearly half of the shows were below 60% of capacity and the Lowest was 38.9% in Birmingham, Ala., hometown of 2006 winner Taylor Hicks and 2003 champ Ruben Studdard. Apparently during last year’s first half, 17 were sell outs and another 10 exceeded 93% of capacity. Overall, the tour has earned $12.1 million at its halfway point this year, which is far less than half of the $35.2 million it earned last year. Jordin said that she promises to remain pure because of the promise she made to her parents when she was 13 years old. Get ready America because American Idol Winner Jordin Sparks, 17, has just signed a record contract with Jive Records. This contract will be in conjunction with the 19Recordings label which is managed by American Idol’s creator, Simon Fuller. Her album is set to follow in just a few months as reported by the Associated Press: Her [Sparks] debut album is slated for release in November. She’ll offer a taste of the disc with her new single, “Tattoo,” to be released to radio stations Aug. 27. “`American Idol’ has truly been a life-altering experience,” Sparks said in a statement. “I can’t wait to share this next chapter of my story with all the fans that have supported me so far.” So Sparks’ album will be out in November, but her first single will hit the air waves in just a little over a week. Blake Lewis may not have won American Idol Season 6, but he’s certainly winning the race this week. Katharine McPhee, American Idol fifth season runner-up, is making the big jump from stage and radio to the big screen. Upcoming indie-film The Last Caller will star the big eyed, brunette as a self-obsessed woman who searches for love and hope in this dark romantic comedy. McPhee told Hollywood Reporter: “I’m up for a couple of big studio projects, but they weren’t starring roles. I wanted to start off doing something a little different. In case you’re going through American Idol withdrawal following last week’s finale show like the rest of us then there’s still hope. NBC is going to air a special on July 4th this year with the top 3 contestants from this season of American Idol. Oh yes. Not just this season’s winner Jordin Sparks or Blake Lewis, but we’ll get another serving of Melinda Doolittle’s talented voice. All three singers will be on stage together performing together for the event. Those three performers won’t be the sole singing event though. Martina McBride will be joining the show to perform her song “Anyway” just as she did back on April 17th on American Idol. This NBC event will be hosted by Natalie Morales and Tiki Barber and will also feature a very healthy dose of fireworks. The network described the display as “nearly 35,000 brilliant shells exploding over New York City”. Yes, I looked for the 30 Rock video clip where Ja
