America’s Next Top Model Reveals Season 10 Models
America’s Next Top Model returns for its 10th Season, Wednesday, February 20th, on the CW. Fans of the show will notice several changes this season. In Season 10 the show will return to New York after spending the past five seasons in L.A. Tyra Banks will host the show as usual. She will be joined by returning judges J. Alexander and Nigel Barker. New this season will be Paulina Porizkova who will replace Twiggy on the panel this season. We last saw Paulina when she was eliminated in the first week of Dancing With The Stars last spring. The cast will be expanded to 14 models competing for the Top Model spot. When reviewing the girls I was surprised to see only a single girl from California. I’m assuming the high proportion of girls from the east coast is a result of the show’s return to NYC. Season 10’s 14 models are: - Aimee, Spanaway, WA - Allison, Waunakee, WI - Amis, Bartlesville, OK - Anya, Honolulu, HI - Atalya, Brooklyn, NY - Claire, New York, NY -

What The Bank of America-Countrywide Merger DOESN'T Mean For Homeowners
For all that's been said about the proposed Bank of America-Countrywide merger, what's not getting talked about is how the merger will impact existing Countrywide customers. The short answer is that it won't. A mortgage (and its corresponding note) is a legal contract between the lender and the lendee, signed on the date of closing. It is binding and cannot be altered by either party, even if the mortgage is transferred between lenders. As a homeowner, the only way to "end" the contract is to satisfy the home loan with a full repayment.  That can happen one of three ways: The home is sold and the mortgage is repaid The home is refinanced and the mortgage is repaid The home loan is paid down to $0 balance by the homeowners Mortgage payment servicers commonly transfer home loans between each other.  This happens on an everyday-basis -- not just when there's a merger, or a closure.  When mortgages are transferred, HUD requires the former lender to send a 15-day adv
America– The Russians Are Coming!
A Russian foundation devoted to democracy and human rights will shortly be setting up shop in America. The Moscow-base Institute of Democracy and Opperation officially registred its New York branch as of December 31. The goal of the Institute is to organize discussions about elections and human rights issues as well as improving Russia’s image in the United States. According to Anatoly Kucherena, “the improvement of Russia’s image abroad is, of course, an important goal.” Last October, President Putin told European leaders of his desire to set up a think tank for freedom and democracy in either Brussels or elsewhere. I gather the elsewhere is the United States. The Institute denies it is an arm of the Russian government, but is merely a Russian model of the American Freedom House. One can only wonder why a Russian version of the American Freedom House is located in New York rather than in Moscow. If the Institute is interested in studying denial of democratic p
Venezuela: Highest Inflation in South America plus Food Shortages
If I wrote a script on how to destroy a Country and create misery, I do not think I could have outdone Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. Annual inflation in Venezuela soared to 22.5 percent in 2007, the highest official rate in Latin America. Then brain-dead Hugo added price controls and a shortened workday “to help the poor.” This brilliant compassion has created shortages of milk, eggs, sugar,... Bank Of America Call Center In Alabang?
My partner came home today and got some juicy news about one the snazzy building being buit in the Alabang North Cyber gate area. A friend said that one of the buildings being built right beside the Genpact building and the HSBC building belongs to a call center for Bank Of America. Ofcourse this rumor is just based on the friend's observation that a BOA signage apparently is already posted on the building. If this rumor is true, then this is another big opportunity for our call center people looking to explore careers elsewhere in our industry. Bookmark, subscribe and check back with this blog to get the latest news on this development. I am going to get confirmation on this reports from my contacts.
Bush Iraq Legacy– America’s Wounded Soldiers And Families
Mrs Rose Lage, a middle aged mother and wife, was looking forward to her husband’s retirement and life spent with the grandchildren. That dreams vanished in the smoke from a bomb blast that severely injured her son Sgt. Michael Lage and left him with severe body burns. It has been rare for President Bush, who is so willing to express trite comments about supporting the troops, to ever confront the hidden cost of his disastrous war in Iraq– the impact upon family members of the dead and wounded. Ft. Sam Houston in Texas now has 500 burn victims and 250 amputees who are being cared for both by the hospital and by family members. Rose Lage left her two story home in Atlanta for a hotel room on the Sam Houston post. She lives with her wounded son and helps with the bandages. Her husband remained for a few weeks but had to return to his job. Living apart has not only been an emotional issue for Mrs. Lage, but it eating into the retirement funds her husband and she had set aside.
America’s Shame-State Department Congragulates Kibaki!!
As thousands of outraged Kenyans marched in protest against the blatant action by President Kibaki to steal an election, US State Department spokesperson, Robert Mcinturff, announced the Bush administration reaction to the theft: “The United States congratulates the winners.” Apparently, for President Bush democracy is equated with another government’s willingness to go along with his foreign policy of fighting terrorism. President Kibaki was a loyal supporter of Bush policies and therefore he must receive support, even though he stole an election. Over 100 Kenyans are dead, bodies in the morgue reveal multiple wounds since police have orders to shoot on sight. The police refused to allow supporters of Raila Odinga– who actually won the election — to leave the slum area of Kibera and fired on those seeking to conduct a mock swearing in ceremony for Odinga. The Bush administration continues to claim it supports “democracy.” The brave people of K
From Super Power To Super Disorder-America, 2007!
The best evaluation of the Bush administration in 2007 came from Kevin Conrad at the Bali Conference on global warming when he said to the United States: “We seek your leadership. But, if for some reason, you are not willing to lead, leave it to the rest of us.Please get out of our way.” Upon his assumption to the presidency in 2001, Bush led the world’s super power, today, after seven years of ineptitude and confusion, that world is over and has been replaced by one in which China, Russia, India, and the European Union now share joint planet leadership. In 2001, an American tourist could get a decent return when exchanging his dollar bill for a Euro, today, it is worth about 60% of the Euro. The steady decline of America continues as Bush rides into the sunset of retirement. A humbled Russia was unable in 2001 to use its political or economic power on the world arena, today, the arrogant, sneering voice of Vladmir Putin lectures America on what it can or can not do.

Kovels' Antiques & Collectibles Price List 2008: The Bestselling Price Guide in America- 40th Anniversary Edition
The Kovel's book is by far the most detailed, entertaining and informative price book I have ever owned. It helps us sellers and buyers and on line shoppers understand real-time market values. I like that it is based on ACTUAL prices. ( after all things are really only worth what someone will pay). It helped me identify things that I was unsure of with some really clear four-color photographs. The book is packed with TONS of pictures! It also is easy to find things and the Kovel's seem to have a knack to know how to organize such a large group of potential categories. Overall, this book was worth every penny in terms of showing me what things are worth and what they are. No other place I have found that can do both so well. A Glorious Day for Our Country: On the Trail of America's First Christmas
Story & Photos by Richard Grant It is forever Christmas at McKonkey’s Ferry Inn. The dining room in this lovely tavern, located on the banks of the Delaware River, 42 miles upstream from Philadelphia, is always decorated exactly as it would have been on Christmas night, 1776, when George Washington
I Hate Americans– But Would Like To Migrate To America!
Diya Muhammad Hussein, a sixteen year-old Iraqi boy, spoke with reporters for Der Spiegel, online, about his desire to kill American troops and his dream of being able to immigrate to America. One night, the boy planted an explosive in the road and hid so he could be ready to detonate it but when American military vehicles drove over the explosives nothing happened. he tried again the next day but abandoned the attempt when he saw Iraq soldiers walking with the Americans, he did not want to kill any of his countrymen, just the occupiers. A few hours later while in an Internet cafe that was being monitored by the police he got into an argument with the man who got him to try killing Americans that was overheard by the police. Diya calls himself a “muhahedeen,” a freedom fighter. After being captured in the town of Rawah, he confessed and revealed the names of accomplices. He also revealed the hiding place of many explosive devices. He began his career of “terrorism&rd
Slave Labor Shames America-Read About It In England!
Shortly after John F. Kennedy assumed the presidency, author Michael Harrington wrote a powerful book depicting the plight of migrant workers in America and Edward R. Murrow filmed the famous “harvest of Shame” episode on TV. It inspired the Kennedy administration to take action. Fast forward forty five years and an English newspaper is printing stories on its front page about the plight of America’s migrant workers, Leonard Dolye, reporting from Florida, describes fruit pickers held captive and subjected to brutal work conditions. three of them recently broke free after a year of being terrorized by their employer and reported to police conditions on the fruit plantation. The workers were locked up at night and if they took a shower using a hose, $5 was deducted from their wages. “The story of slavery and abuse in the fruit fields of sub-tropical Florida threatens to lift the lid on some appalling human rights abuses in America today.” In words that coul
Stay Or Go– Which Way America In Iraq?
There is scant doubt violence has declined in Iraq since 30,000 additional American troops were dispatched to that nation earlier this year. But, according to General Joseph Fil, commander of US forces in Baghdad, the progress achieved in recent months is “fledgling, fragile, and not guaranteed.” The additional troops have made it possible to maintain forces in every part of the city, but he believes the situation is far from resolved. “There is absolutely a risk of going too quickly” because leaving “before the Iraqis are truly able to take over these areas independently would be very risky, and there ares some areas in the city where, at this point, it would fail.” There are now 160,000 American troops in Iraq, a force capable to maintaining order in major cities like Baghdad, but there are still rural areas where the situation is less stable. There was never any doubt placing thousands of American forces in Baghdad would temporarily lessen violenc
Twenty Year Plan: Islam Targets America
Dr. Shorrosh offers the following 20-point analysis of the Islamist agenda to take over America by the year 2020:1. Replace America’s freedom of speech with hate crime bills nation-wide.2. Wage a war of words using black leaders to promote Islam as the original African-American’s religion. Strangely, no one states the fact that it was Arab Muslims who captured and sold them as slaves, neither the fact that in Arabic the word for black and slave is the same: Abed.3. Engage the American public on the virtues of Islam.4. Nominate Muslim sympathizers to political office.5. Take control of the media and the internet by buying the corporations or acontrolling stock.6. Encourage the fear of imminent shut-off of Middle Eastern oil supply.7. Protest any time Islam is criticized or the Quran is analyzed in the public arena.8. Acquire government positions, get membership in local school boards. Train Muslims as doctors to dominate the medical field, research and pharmaceutical companies. Ever
A German View Of America– A Depressed Nation!
Gabor Stengart, writing in Der Spiegel offered an insightful perspective on the state of America from a foreign viewpoint. “All it takes to find out why America is in such a bad mood,” he writes, “is to look at the local section of any American newspaper, at the photos of the smiling faces of soldier s killed in iraq.” He met with the mayor of Washington D.C. who was so proud that school children in his district received their textbooks at the beginning of the term rather in mid point in the year. Stengart visited a local supermarket and was struck by how many products indicated they were made in other countries rather than in the United States, a vast difference from earlier years in America. He recalled a time in American history when Gary, Indiana had the largest steel mill in the world, but today foreign products are the ones purchased, not manufactured in this country. “Demographers paint a picture of a somewhat melancholic acutely dissatisfied and to
