Defining America by Its Most Profitable Industries
America is defined by its most profitable companies. The most profitable companies’ represent American’s economic needs and culture. These industries serve a need in society and therefore earn excellent rewards for providing these needs. Society yearns for their products and drives these companies into mega corporations that become America’s cultural ambassadors to the world. The top 20 most profitable Fortune 500 companies indicate that oil manufacturers, financial services, high-tech equipment, discount department stores, and pharmaceutical companies are making huge profits. These huge profits are a direct result of the problems and difficulties the country is currently facing and will be facing.People and businesses purchase what they need and an industry that is rising in profits and prosperity indicate that the country is relying on these products. For example, if the country has an aging population economists will find that industries related to an aging population will grow
Soviet Style Democracy in America
The need for direct democracy in America has never been more apparent than it is right now. We - the populace - are left impotent as the politicians whom we elected to office as representatives neglect to embody in their advocacies the will and interests that we - the American Public - possess, whose [...]

High-Tech Virgin America Airline
Virgin America Airlines has introduced new planes with ultra high-tech cabins. These planes will come with all the gadgets and unnecesary, yet cool things to keep you occupied while on a 10 hour flight. There will be WiFi availiable on board, that's right, on board. This is a first, or one of the few airlines to have this availiable. Along with that there are ethernet ports by every seat, as well as socket plug-ins for your cell phone and MP3 chargers. Along with all this, they announced a new "Red" entertainment system. In the head back of every seat there will be a touch screen, along with a little remote with a QWERTY keyboard and some navigation controls. This system will include the ability to watch/listen to/play movies, music, satelite TV, and games. Also you can chat with other people on board that are watching the same program as you, which is pretty neat. Can't wait to fly on one of these suckers. No more sleeping on airplanes for me :)Thank you for subscribing to my blog!
McPolitics and America’s political palate
Perhaps you caught a glimpse of Tuesday’s presentation at Soldier Field.  You know, the political fashion show displaying the Democratic presidential candidates to all the union bosses in order to determine who – if anyone – is to get the endorsement from the AFL-CIO for the run to the White House.  If you didn’t, perhaps [...]
Newt Gingrich Declares that the 2008 Presidential Election Process is Bad for America
Newt Gingrich, ignoring all his idiosyncrasies, is right as usual. The 2008 Presidential Election is too long, too expensive and verges on “insane.” This fact was clearly demonstrated this week when less than 1 million people watched the Democratic Debate on MSNBC. I think more people will vote for Elvis as a Write-in Candidate. This phenomenon of Presidential Candidates starting excessively early, and relying on uninformed “consultants,” is terrible for our political process. Procedurally, Candidates are reduced to thirty-second answers to prevent what happened to Senator Barack Obama last week. Moreover, these sound-bites are not sufficient to educate the public and so there is perpetual political ignorance.Gingrich was very candid about Obama’s statements. Barack Obama declared that he would dispatch U.S. troops to Pakistan to attack al Qaeda if Pakistani authorities fail to get them. Newt spoke with intellectual honesty rarely seen by someone so partisan: “Obama s
God Bless America
Around this time last year I wrote a post, on a somewhat less reputable site, talking about how crazy football has become.  I voiced concerns over the fact that signings now seemed to attract more interest than actual matches and were viewed as ends in themselves. That summer I was completely demoralised, after all the previous years final premiership table, particularly the top five, had finished exactly in order of who spent the most money, with one exception of course: Arsenal.  So thank God I spent this summer working in America where despite what they may tell you about Beckham mania over here very few people care at all about football.   But when I came back I realised that the world had gone crazy and that my prophecy of football dying as a competitive sport  is actually closer to fruition than even I ever imagined.  Arsenal will be outspent this summer not just by the usual subjects of Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool an
Pondering the Future of Populist America as it continues to grow and increase in organizational complexity
As the Populist Party of America grows in size, we are faced with some challenging obstacles and difficult decisions to make regarding the future of the Party: i.e., What type of structure should be given to the Populist Party of America? Should we strive for a strong national organization? Or, contrarily, should we [...]
Virgin America Says It Will Be Profitable by 2009
Virgin America had its first flight yesterday but apparently the airline will not be profitable for two years, meaning investors will have to wait until 2009 to see profits. Virgin America is partially owned by English billionaire entrepreneur Richard Branson as part of his Virgin business empire. A member of Virgin America’s board, Robert Nisi, said: “We’re probably looking, rough estimate, 18 months to two years for a profit. We’re committed to making this airline a success and we’ll be behind it as long as we need to.” Nisi’s Cyrus Capital Partners has invested a massive $80 million in Virgin America. Do you think Virgin America will become a big success? Source Written by Sam for Product ReviewsIn Sections: News, Business
Bear Sterns Hunted By JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America and HSBC
The fifth largest broker dealer by market value on Wall Street, Bear Stearns, could be taken over by a number of financial institutions including JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America and HSBC. At the right price, Bear Stearns is an attractive target for these major companies as the stock price has been suffering a lot. This year, Bear Sterns stock price has fallen 30%, mainly due to the suffering US sub prime real estate market. If you are a Bear Sterns shareholder then do you want to sell? How long is it before Bear Sterns becomes so cheap that it is an irresistible takeover target? Source Written by Sam for Product ReviewsIn Sections: News, Business

George Miller set to direct the live-action Justice League of America Movie?
Reports have come in that Happy Feet director George Miller has been asked to direct a live-action big screen version of the Justice League of America for Warner Bros. It was assumed that a JLA movie would be years off, but with Warner Bros pushing the development of the movie so early, who knows? The original Justice League of America superhero team consists of Superman, Batman (who can both still sell movies on their own merit), Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and the Martian Manhunter. It has since grown to include Green Arrow, Atom, Hawkman, Black Canary, Captain Marvel, Plastic Man, Zatanna and others. If the Superman and Batman movies still bring in megabucks at the box office, why is the project’s development being pushed so early? Surely a JLA movie would be the last resort? With George Miller, who is an award winning Hollywood Veteran, directing it’s hard to not be excited about this movie. Millers credits include Mad Max, The Witches of Eastwick, Twilight Zon
Mexicans come to America, Americans go to Canada...
This is pretty funny - but it seems that Americans are moving to Canada. What does Canada think about this? Are they going to build a huge fence along the border? The number of U.S. citizens who moved to Canada last year hit a 30-year high, with a 20 percent increase over the previous year and almost double the number who moved in 2000. In 2006, 10,942 Americans went to Canada, compared with 9,262 in 2005 and 5,828 in 2000, according to a survey by the Association for Canadian Studies. READ MORE...Be sure to stop by for more later!
Robin Roberts of ABC’s Good Morning America Is Battling Breast Cancer
Robin Roberts of ABC’s Good Morning America announced today that she is battling breast cancer. Robin found out she had breast cancer after she was preparing for a tribute show for her dear friend and colleague, Joel Siegel who also fought cancer. When Robin got home she went to bed and did a self breast exam and found a lump. She said at first I thought “This can’t be. I am a young, healthy woman.” Nevertheless, I faced my fear head on and made an appointment to see the doctor. Much as I was hoping the doctor would say it was nothing, she did a biopsy and confirmed that the lump I’d found was indeed an early form of breast cancer.” Robin is due to have surgery on Friday to remove the lump and will follow with treatment. Let’s wish Robin all the best and hope that everything goes ok and that she makes a full recovery. Written by Kerry for Product ReviewsIn Sections: News, TV Shows
