Music 4 the planet: Blackened by Metallica
2007-08-17 03:46:52
“I love my sons. I want them to “inherit the Earth” FOR REAL! We keep waiting for future generations to solve the problems; to invent cleaner technology; to pay the costs…that’s the same as passing the buck. I want the buck to stop here, now. I want lawmakers and laws to impose change. Nothing else will keep this world safe for my sons.” - Lars Ulrich of Metallica Sponsor: Green People is offering FREE POSTAGE on their organic skin and hair care products, men’s products, sun lotions and baby products to all UK customers during August 2007 Bookmark:    Discuss this post   Subscribe to this feed ...

the EcoStreet go green challenge: day 1
2007-08-15 06:49:43
It’s the first day of the EcoStreet go green challenge! Today, we’re asking you to stop drinking bottled water. It’s expensive, it’s bottled and transported producing lots of carbon dioxide, and it comes in disposable bottles creating waste. We challenge you to start using a refillable bottle and fill up with tap water. You’ll be helping the environment, and you’ll be helping your pocket too. If you aren’t comfortable with water straight out of the tap, filter it. Natural Collection stocks a water bottle that includes a filter so that you can fill up wherever there’s a tap, even when out of range of your filter jug at home. Don’t forget that we’ll be giving away a copy of Sheherazade Goldsmith’s book A Slice of Organic Life and an eco-nique carbon neutral leather MP3 case to the writer of our favourite story of how you got on with our go green challenge. EcoReview: Liquid Soda Crystals
2007-08-14 02:32:17
I’ve been using soda crystals for a few years. I’ve use it to keep the drains clear and to get the most from my laundry detergent. I’ve also used to use it to clean the greasy gas hob, although I’ve now switched to an induction hob that is much easier to keep clean. It’s very useful, effective stuff, and doesn’t contain phosphates, enzymes or bleach, so it’s gentler on the environment than many of the detergents available these days. I’ve now tried Liquid Soda Crystals in a trigger spray bottle, and am even more impressed. It’s very good in the bathroom. Bath rings are no match for it, and it leaves taps and porcelain beautifully shiny. It works brilliantly on windows, tiles and mirrors too. There are no nasty fumes to breathe, but you do need to protect your hands with rubber gloves if you are going to have more than fleeting contact with it or it could irritate your skin.
