AccidentsHere are some photos of accidents from The Museum of Accidents. It's not always possible to avoid accidents, which are caused by the nature, but still we can try to avoid the accidents created by us. Least we can do is to avoid deliberate accidents.Natural AccidentsOn July 31, 1993, Highway 40 was flooded as it headed into the Chesterfield Valley in Missouri, United States. Some 3 million people were without power across Canada on January 9, 1998, as power lines were crushed with the weight of four days accumulated frost in Boucherville, near Montreal.A powerful earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale on January 17, 1995, Nishinomiya, Japan collapsed an elevated highway.Industrial Accidents Fire caused by a conflagration in a Chinese restaurant of New York City's Garment district on March 1, 1996, New York, United States. Visual Illusions

Visual Illusions George W. Bush Illusion They may look a bit different, but we don't think they should seem too odd & in the second image one can see the faces right side up & the difference. "Most people are quite surprised by the pictures when they see them right side up. The illusion illustrates the fact that right side-up and upside-down faces are processed differently, which some people take as evidence that parts of our brain are specialized for (normal, right side-up) face perception."There is another one:A Distance-Size IllusionNow look at the image given below & can you make out who is taller of these two?"Most people think the woman on the left looks considerably taller, yet if you click on the image you'll see that parallel lines can connect the tops and bottoms of the two figures, revealing that they're exactly the same size. This illusion illustrates the fact that the actual size an image projects onto your retina isn't the only thing that affects perceived size. The o ...

Typewriter ArtCan you believe that this art was created using a typewriter? Paul Smith, the man with extraordinary talent was born in Philadelphia on September 21, 1921 with severe cerebral palsy. Not only had Paul beaten the odds of a life with spastic cerebral palsy, a disability that impeded his speech & mobility but also taught himself to become a master artist as well as a terrific chess player even after being devoid of a formal education as a child."When typing, Paul used his left hand to steady his right one. Since he couldn't press two keys at the same time, he almost always locked the shift key down and made his pictures using the symbols at the top of the number keys. In other words, his pictures were based on these characters ... @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ .Across seven decades, Paul created hundreds of pictures. He often gave the originals away. Sometimes, but not always, he kept or received a copy for his own records. As his mastery of the typ ...
