Sathya Sai Baba has claimed he is here to save the world from global catastrophe. Many others have likewise claimed to be the Saviours of mankind, Christ come again, the Messiah, the Mahdi Moud and whatever. It is an easy claim to make, but so far none of them have shown the proof of the pudding! Sai Baba’s many claims and prophesies have been shown to be bogus, either by documentation from his own self-contradictions and ignorance or the course of events. Sathya Sai Baba has had nothing sensible to say about ozone regeneration or global warming Sai Baba has evidently picked up some stray thoughts from visitors and his educated servitors about the ozone layer and CO2 pollution and has mentioned the problem in a few sentences. We see that Sai Baba was unaware that CFC gases were the primary cause of ozone depletion, for he believes that tree-planting (afforestation) could correct ozone depletion. Sathya Sai Baba has preached with extreme insistence and constant repetitively that all religions have the same essential, good values. This is very easy to say, but not possible to back up reasonably, let alone prove - especially to the heads of the main religions. The present Pope, for example, leader of over 600 million Catholics, rejects as heretical all religious doctrines which do not accept the primacy of Jesus Christ. Islam rejects Hinduism at a very most basic level - that God cannot incarnate in a human body (as Sathya Sai Baba constantly claims for himself) and cannot be represented in any idol (while Hinduism accepts thousands of deities and idols of all kinds). Judaism awaits a Messiah, but Sathya Sai Baba most evidently does not fulfil their conditions so Judaism does not proclaim him as their Messiah. Another of the many confidential ex-devotee contacts of mine has a friend still living in Whitefield who sometimes looks in on the ashram there. This person reports that there are not many Western people who want to be involved with Sai Baba anymore. ”He is a prisoner in his own ‘ashram’, kept is kept well and truly behind iron bars, all be it they are fancy ones.” My contact also thinks that the Indian govt. has a hand in everything going on there nowadays, having turned Puttaparthi into a tourist venue for all Indians - religious or not - makes no difference to them. That they brought in hoards of lower class Indians had the effect of getting rid of most of the Westerners, who were not wanted there anyway and who seldom get any attention nowadays even in the ‘drive-past darshans’. One of the many former devotees with whom I correspond privately has commented to me that “Dr.G. Venkataraman lost all his scruples.” Also that he “had a harrowing experience when he lost his son and that is the main reason he is with Sathya Sai Baba who kind of gave him emotional support during the hard times.” Sathya Sai Baba is known to inquire of his servitors about persons coming to him, and so he is able to pretend he knows their problems and gives assurances he will take care of them etc.. But he does not even do this when he gets a massive payback in support, funds or other services… as was seen in the case of the long sufferings and inability to cure some of his staunchest supporters. The crucifix given to John Hislop was supposed to have been materialized by the paranormal powers of Sai Baba.
