Polling the Uninformed: Why the Youth Vote and Youth Opinion Polls are Meaningless
2007-07-28 00:32:00
Over the last decade, the media has become completely obsessed with youth opinion polls. Can someone explain to me why money is wasted figuring out what the most ignorant citizens in society think? Next, we can survey Lindsay Lohan to get her opinion about limited government and the Laugher Curve. There really are few things more absurd. First, an enormous number of Americans below the age of 24 have not been married. Many are childless. They have not been steadily employed for more than a decade. Notably, many of them are still in school ready to get a start in life. This certainly does not qualify someone to give opinions about anything, especially public policy. Yet, recently the Democracy Corps/Greenberg Quinlan Rosner survey found young people “profoundly alienated from the Republican party and its perceived values.” Furthermore, according to the survey responses, “Young people react with hostility to the Republicans on almost every measure and Republicans and y ...

Royal Dutch Shell Will Drill in the Arctic off the Coast of Alaska this Year
2007-07-26 20:02:00
Finally, Royal Dutch Shell has brought sanity back to the oil business. Shell has rightfully decided that enough is enough, and will drill in the Arctic off the coast of Alaska this year. It is about time these companies who extract vital resources fight back against the environmentalist lunatics. The greenies simply seek to push us back to the Stone Age with socialism, and front their campaign with the “noble” goal of saving the Planet. Sadly, we too often see advertisements for British Petroleum telling us about the benefits of biofuel and alternative energy. This is possibly the most damaging public relations campaign. What BP does not seem to understand is that the far-left will never give in to anything; liberals always want more government control over our lives until we are all equally miserable. Moreover, the left know these public relations campaigns are simply a ploy. Even worse, the advertisements convince mainstream Americans that we need to stop drilling fo ...

New Study Wastes Tax Dollars to Determine that Obesity Is 'Socially Contagious'
2007-07-25 20:30:00
Add to you list of government waste and worthless studies: Social Scientists have determined that being friends with fat people makes you fat. So, I guess the scientists' most logical solution is to pick on the fat kids to prevent future heart attacks. I should thank the government for taking money from my paycheck to pay these pathetic scientific posers.First of all, it is about time that the liberals in this Country make a decision. Either we are a poor Country, or we are an obese Country. We cannot have both. We are the only civilization in the history of the world where our poor people can eat so much that they become obese. I am sure that the starving North Korean citizen who literally has no food to eat only wished he had such a problem. If anything, this study demonstrates that it is our government that is overfed, not the people. How is it that liberals claim we have no money to fund their programs, but we can afford ridiculous studies like this? I have a solution for t ...

Market Falls Because of Democrat Debate . . .
2007-07-25 09:05:00
Watching the monkeys on CNBC and Bloomberg try to explain away yesterday's market selloff is amusing. The real reason is quite simple. Last night's Democrat debate had a lot to do with today's sell off. How can one have watched this hate capitalism, hate the rich, hate free trade, hate China, and hate everyone who supports global capitalism "debate" and not come away with the conclusion that if these people get the keys to the car they will crash it?There is a feeling out there that a Democrat is going to win the White House (i.e. Rush putting Hillary's odds at 80%). The more the market perceives this as reality it is going to tank. Over the next 18 months investors are going to hear how the Democrats seek to subsidize health care for illegals , street thugs, and gangs (and call it universal health care). Serious investors are not comfortable with what they see coming. They are starting to run for the hills. It's not just the front runners either - Pelosi's House has already prop ...

Ward Churchill Fired based on Churchill’s Own Interpretation of the 9th Amendment
2007-07-24 20:13:00
Ward Churchill was fired tonight by the University of Colorado governing board. In 2005, Churchill said the 9/11 victims in the World Trade Center were “Little Eichmanns,” referring to Adolf Eichmann who helped carry out the Holocaust. While the First Amendment prevents Churchill from being fired for those baseless comments, a subsequent investigation led to evidence that he fabricated or falsified his research and plagiarized the work of others. In 2006, a university committee found Churchill guilty of academic misconduct, including plagiarism. This did not surprise me at all after I heard him give a speech where he lambasted the crowd for being ignorant about the 9th Amendment. With arrogant ignorant condescension, he said that the 9th Amendment supersedes the 1st Amendment preventing people from celebrating Columbus Day. Essentially, he said he had a right not to be offended. This was the first time in the history of the world that, that argument was made.It is totally ridic ...

Obama Promises To Meet With Dictators If Elected
2007-07-24 11:15:00
From Byron York:Sen. Barack Obama’s closest political adviser, David Axelrod, wants you to know that Obama did not say what he appeared to say at Monday night’s Democratic debate here in Charleston. A questioner, speaking via debate sponsor YouTube, asked whether, in the spirit of “bold leadership,” the candidates would “meet separately, without precondition, during the first year of your administration…with the leaders of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba, and North Korea, in order to bridge the gap that divides our countries.” Obama had a ready answer.“I would,” he said without hesitation. “And the reason is that the notion that somehow not talking to countries is punishment to them — which has been the guiding principle of this administration — is ridiculous. Ronald Reagan and Democratic presidents like JFK constantly spoke to the Soviet Union at a time when Ronald Reagan called them an evil empire. And the reason is because they understood that we may not trust t ...

CNN YouTube Democratic Debate: Big Government at its Worst
2007-07-24 00:01:00
The CNN YouTube Democratic Debate was the typical liberal panderfest. It also oozed with total support for big government. While I could easily write a book about the absurdity that took place, this editorial may seem more like a stream of consciousness. For the first time, we really saw who the Democrats are. Anderson Cooper, in my opinion, did an excellent job forcing the liberal Democrats to expose their true intentions. He made sure that all the questions were answered and I commend him for that. Let us take some time to examine some of what was said. When asked whether any of the politicians would work for minimum wage, all the politicians said they would but Senator Dodd. So, if that is the case, maybe we do not need a minimum wage after all. This was pandering at its worst.Earlier in the “debate,” John Edwards, with Stalinist zeal, advocated taking the power away from corporations through the use of government force. The scary thing is that the audience applauded. Tha ...

Hillary Clinton Fact #2
2007-07-23 08:58:00
Virtually no attention has been given to Hillary Clinton's reported anti-Jewish statements. This is another example of the impenetrable media bubble placed around Madame Hillary since Bill first ran for president. There have been a few exceptions. For example, in August 2000, the NY Post reported:"The Arkansas man who accused Hillary Rodham Clinton last month of uttering an anti-Semitic slur in 1974 has passed a lie-detector test arranged by The Post. Paul Fray, who has charged Mrs. Clinton called him a "f- - -ing Jew bastard" after Bill Clinton lost his race for Congress, cleared the polygraph exam administered Sunday near his home here. "There's no doubt in my mind that Mr. Fray is truthful," concluded state-licensed Arkansas polygrapher Jeff Hubanks, who gave the three-hour test. . . The findings were reviewed yesterday by another expert, Richard Keifer, a former head of the FBI's polygraph unit who has 20 years of experience. Keifer judged the results "inconclusive" because they ...

Mayor John J. Duran and West Hollywood's Resolution to Impeach George Bush and Dick Cheney
2007-07-22 16:04:00
Liberalism stands for the proposition that intentions and desires are always more important than results. This is why liberals almost always support failing endeavors so long as there were good intentions behind it. In the political arena, this phenomenon is magnified by liberal politicians; their continued support for failing policies demonstrates they are suffering from collective amnesia. While in the past, liberals solely engaged in economic malfeasance, liberal politicians today have demonstrated that they stand for nothing more than meaningless gestures. Evidently, that fact extends far beyond Congress, and is now leaching into our city councils. For example, West Hollywood Mayor John J. Duran said his city joined 80 other U.S. towns or cities in the political effort to protect constitutional ideals. What were those “constitutional ideals?” Well, Duran felt that it was the place for West Hollywood officials to pass a resolution calling for the impeachment of Presid ...

Al Gore: More of an Environmental Disaster than a Compact Florescent Light Bulb
2007-07-20 00:01:00
Al Gore was recently quoted saying, “There's an African proverb that says, ‘If you want to go quick, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.’ We have to go far quickly.” Well, by now the African people are thinking that Al Gore and his environmentalist lunatics can “Go f&%$ themselves.” It makes me sick to my stomach to think of the arrogance and ignorant condescension instilled in liberal elitists like Al Gore. In his latest scare tactic rhetoric he also spouted, “Worldwide atmospheric carbon has jumped from 280 to 383 parts per million in the last century; the polar icecaps are melting three times faster than anyone's direst prediction; China is on the verge of surpassing the United States for greenhouse gas emissions; bark beetles and wildfires are sweeping across Western forests; temperatures are climbing, sea levels rising, glaciers vanishing. By some estimates, humans must pull 30 gigatons of carbon from the atmosphere to have a shot at reversing such e ...

Scandinavians Reject High Taxes and Welfare State
2007-07-19 00:01:00
We are so often told by liberals that the United States should be modeled after Scandinavian countries. Liberals tell us that their socialistic societies should be revered. Evidently, Norwegians are singing a different tune. It seems that Norwegians are becoming less and less accepting of high taxes to finance their social welfare state. Because of their welfare state, Norwegians are among the most heavily taxed people in the world. Consequently, the cost of goods and services in Norway is excessive. For example, a glass of wine at an everyday restaurant costs $16 U.S. A gallon of gas costs almost $9 U.S. The tax on cars doubles the cost of the car itself. The Big Government of Norway has determined that these taxes are necessary to help the environment, another reason to be against Al Gore. Comically, many Norwegian citizens are claiming that they do not get anything in return for their taxes. Is it surprising that the Government is ineffective at providing services even ...

Democrat Party Tries To Kill Cigar Industry . . .
2007-07-18 17:21:00
The predictable Big Government liberals are back at it again. With a ploy to save the children, they are going to destroy the cigar industry in America through excessive taxation. Evidently, there is nothing that the Democrats won't try to fix with a tax hike. The Democrats claim that their "destroy the cigar industry bill" will help generate an extra 35-50 billion in tax revenues that can then be used to pay for a children’s insurance program. The bill would also raise the federal tax on cigarettes from 39 cents to a dollar a pack. This raise apparently is not enough for the Dems as they have turned to target cigars. Now the bill doesn’t have much chance to pass as the President has already indicated that he will veto any expansion of current entitlement programs. Let’s keep in mind, however, that congress currently wants to keep entitlement plans solvent while simultaneously increasing the size of them. We all see where this is going. Moreover, Democrats are counting on the ...

Robert Byrd’s Speech at the Congressional Slumber Party Demonstrates Why Confidence in Congress is at the Lowest Rate Ever
2007-07-18 16:58:00
Amazingly, new polls show just 14% of Americans have a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in Congress. That is the lowest rating ever. Nevertheless, yesterday, the Democrats engaged in the most shameful activity in a long time. In order to trick their base into believing they want to pull the troops out of Iraq, they pulled an all-nighter and now they want a pay raise. Yes, Congress thinks that by dragging cots into Congress and then sneaking out at night to go home, they will convince the public they are against the War in Iraq. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Contrary to popular belief, the resolution that Harry Reid claims will end the Iraq war will do no such thing. In fact, it simply seeks to attain meaningless redeployment. Many, if not most, troops will stay in Iraq. Since that is the case, I think I will leave it to the Generals to decide where our troops are deployed over Nancy Pelosi. It is so pathetic that this Democrat Congress has managed to not ...

Yet Another Reason to Vote for Fred Thompson
2007-07-17 19:09:00
I am so sick of seeing Republican candidates pretend to be fiscally conservative and then spend more money than John Edwards at a salon. John McCain voted for Medicare Part D, which has become a fiscal nightmare. Moreover, John McCain’s campaign is almost broke, demonstrating just how fiscally responsible he is likely to be with our money. Where did the money go? I do not know about you, but if I have to ask that question now, I am for sure that I will have to ask that question if he is President. At lead the Democrats tell us up front that they are going to tax and spend us like crazy. I appreciate the honesty, but $2.9 trillion is beyond abominable. Mitt Romney is not without shame either. He spent $31,500 to rent the Boston Red Sox’s Fenway Park for a barbecue, $300 for makeup work, and $4.9 million in television ads. If he claims he is going to cut discretionary spending to minus 1% of inflation, maybe he plans to fund the rest of that 1% with his own money, just like ...
