Iowa Republican Debate: The 2008 Presidential Election with Clarity
2007-08-05 19:13:00
The ABC News Republican Debate was a breath of fresh air (although some disagree) compared to the Democratic panderfest. While the Democrats did not debate issues, they simply engaged in emotional blabber, the Republicans discussed specific policy differences. It was amazing that we could have a debate about the real problems facing this Country without watching snowmen and children cry about global warming. For the first time the American people actually were explained the FairTax. George Stephanopoulos told the American people that the FairTax would create a 23% national sales tax while eliminating virtually all other taxes. For a year now, we have only heard candidates claim they support the FairTax without recognizing that most Americans are clueless what they meant. From the debate, we can gather that Mike Huckabee and Tom Tancredo staunchly support the FairTax. They assert that the National sales tax would be able to generate an enormous revenue stream for the Country simply b ...

Jack Bauer and Fox Show "24" Join the Global Warming Swindle
2007-08-04 18:12:00
The action packed television show “24,” demonstrates the prowess of Jack Bauer, a rugged American who fights terrorists with no holds bared tactics. It is the perfect show for people who enjoy watching their heroes kill bad guys and save the day without hesitation. Sadly, Hollywood elitist liberals cannot seem to leave what is good alone. Now, liberals are going to turn the production of Jack Bauer and “24” from a terrorist killer to a carbon-neutral green loser. While they are not going to actually fight global warming in the show, expect to see a bunch of public service announcements and advertisements about what they are doing to save the planet. Fox spokesman Chris Anderson said, “We are publicizing ‘24’s’ commitment to climate change for two reasons and two reasons only: to inspire the public to take global warming seriously and hopefully to motivate other studios to make changes to their production practices as well.” What sycophants! Why can’t this global warmi ...

John Edwards’ 2008 Presidential Campaign Hopes are Over after Three Top Democrats Share Lead in Iowa Poll
2007-08-03 18:38:00
If you were not convinced already that John Edwards, the charlatan, has no chance of defeating Hillary Clinton, a new Washington Post-ABC News poll has sealed his fate. The poll shows Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards in a virtual tie in the State of Iowa (27 percent said they would vote for Obama, 26 percent for Clinton and 26 percent for Edwards). While this may seem like a meaningless poll this early in the race, it is not. John Edwards needed to be ahead by at least ten-points to have a chance at the Presidency.A ten-point lead would have provided Edwards with the momentum to overcome the impossibility of him defeating Hillary or Obama in other states. Edwards thought that if he strategically targeting the State of Iowa, he could still be successful with fewer resources than the other Candidates. This is analogous to Mitt Romney of the Republican Party, whose son has visited every county in the State. But, unlike Mitt Romney, John Edwards botched his chances gaini ...

Blogger Conference Call on Energy Legislation
2007-08-02 18:46:00
It has become apparent that energy independence can only be achieved by exploiting oil and natural gas. Renewable energy is simply not sufficient to supplement all of our energy needs. Sadly, big government with liberal backing has regulated us to the point where we now have to rely on foreign oil. There are plenty of oil resources in our own backyard, and it is time that liberals wake up and realize that this insanity needs to stop.As I have endorsed in the past, to ensure the future prosperity of this country, the energy industry must be entirely deregulated. Moreover, we must permit drilling in Alaska, the Pacific Ocean, and off the coast of Cuba. There is no question that China will be able to access the oil off the coast of Cuba, and we will have to pay to clean it up. If it is being exploited, we should be the exploiters.Furthermore, regulations do not benefit society. In fact, regulations only benefit the big oil corporations. They ensure that no small energy producers a ...

Are Democrats Hell Bent On Nominating A Loser?
2007-08-02 11:40:00
In so many ways ,polls are complete garbage. CNN continues to tout polls that have all democrats leading Republicans in 2008 head to head match ups. Nevertheless, these polls are almost always wrong (remember 2002? 2004?).On the other hand, Rasmussen (the most accurate pollster of the past 3 election cycles) has both Fred Thompson and Rudy Giuliani up over Mrs. Bill Clinton. Unlike the ideologically pure Devil's Advocate, who thinks Ron Paul is the answer, I am not ready to predict impending doom for the GOP in 2008. It is amazing that even though things can’t get worse for the GOP and President Bush, Hillary still cannot out poll Fred Thompson and Rudy Giuliani. What does this say about her coming general election strength? What does this say about the Democrat chances if the political tides change slightly?I should mention that Rasmussen has John Edwards and Barack Obama up big over Giuliani and Thompson. So what this means is that according to these polls, Democrats would rather ...

Sir Elton John Wants To Close Down the Internet
2007-08-02 00:01:00
Sir Elton John demonstrated recently just what happens when liberals achieve success. Yes, according to Elton John, it would be a good idea to ban the Internet for five years. Pathetically, he was serious.First you might be wondering, “Why would he want to ban something that Al Gore, the savior of all mankind, created?” Well, because we as a society are not producing anything worthy enough for Elton John’s standards. Evidently, we “little people” should go outside to sing and dance with our neighbors instead of working for a living. This is not to disparage Elton John’s talent, he is objectively brilliant, but when liberals get money or power there is no telling just how pompous and ignorant they become. This insatiable need for liberals to control others is extremely dangerous. Clearly Elton John is bored with his success, and since he is not trying to force us to drive hybrid cars, he has decided that government-imposed fresh air is a good idea. Forget the fact that ...

Is Congress Heading Toward Smoot-Hawley Redux?
2007-08-01 14:36:00
This news has nothing to do with economic fundamentals, but rather the status of the political environment.Via Larry Kudlow:“1,028 economists who are against imposing retaliatory trade measures against China signed the Club for Growth petition that includes almost 50 percent Republicans and 50 percent Democrats. Bravo!Seventy-seven years ago, 1,028 economists in both political parties petitioned Herbert Hoover to veto the Smoot-Hawley tariff bill. Hat tip to Greg Mankiw's blog site for reprinting the New York Times article. While the Hoover-Smoot-Hawley tariff was a huge hike in tariff rates, and Dodd-Shelby and other Congressional bills would impose retaliatory duties unless China significantly raises its Yuan currency exchange rate, the potential trade war similarities are very worrisome. As was the case in the 1930s, legislation proposed today could spark a China trade war that conceivably could spread worldwide. Of course, this would put an end to the record-setting global econom ...

Bring Liberals and Conservatives Together and Impeach Alberto Gonzales
2007-07-31 00:01:00
It is about time Conservatives stop making excuses for Alberto Gonzales. He is an abject failure as an Attorney General, and has demonstrated that he clearly was not running anything anyway. As much as it is hard for a libertarian like me to praise John Ashcroft, I think it is that time. At least Ashcroft would not have allowed things to get this bad. In fact, I think Alberto Gonzales may be too incompetent to be impeached; he just is too clueless to commit a “High Crime and Misdemeanor.”Pathetically, Alberto Gonzalez managed to turn multiple non-scandals into major catastrophes. For example, when the United States Attorneys were fired, there was speculation as to whether or not the firing was political. Had Gonzales simply said, “President Bush can fire anyone he wants in the Executive Branch for whatever reason because the Constitution makes him the head of the Executive branch,” there would have been no scandal. Instead, he tried to cover up this nonsense, thereby creating i ...

Fox News Supports Hillary Clinton. . .
2007-07-30 11:21:00
The idea perpetuated by the rest of the enemy media that Rupert Murdoch and all the employees of Fox are conservative ideologues has always been absurd. The reality is that Murdoch and his cohorts are just good business people.Ten years ago they realized that the vast majority of Americans feel CNN, (P)MSNBC and the rest of the networks do not represent their views, and would be a nice market to tap. Fox simply found a niche and created a business to serve it - that’s if you consider 50 plus percent of the nation to be a niche. This of course is a concept the left doesn’t quite grasp (they think profits are evil unless of course George Soros is making them). This does not mean that Murdoch or Fox are conservative at all. It means they are interested in making a profit and god bless them for doing so.According to today’s Wall Street Journal “Washington Wire” News Corp is the 6th largest donor to Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Murdoch himself is included on the list. This is in t ...

Canadian Universal Healthcare is a Miserable Failure and why Michael Moore and his Film, “Sicko” are Wrong
2007-07-29 13:52:00
If you want to find the real story of Canada’s failed Universal Healthcare system, look no further than America’s boarder cities. The Buffalo News just reported a story about, Lindsay McCreith, a 66 year-old Canadian retired auto body shop owner. This story, accurately reported by Henry L. Davis, demonstrates why Michael Moore’s new propaganda film, “Sicko” is patently misleading.McCreith experienced seizures on Jan. 2, 2006, and was diagnosed with a benign tumor based on a CT scan. A physician at a Canadian hospital declined to order an MRI to rule out a malignancy. McCreith’s family doctor agreed to request the more-definitive scan, but McCreith was told he would have to wait over four months for the appointment.According to McCreith, had he been patient and followed the Canadian system, he would have died. Instead, McCreith went to Buffalo to receive treatment the very next day. In Buffalo, he was told he had a malignant tumor, which required a biopsy. After tryin ...

Liberal Media Reports Another Worthless Poll Claiming that Americans Say the Supreme Court has become “Too Conservative”
2007-07-28 20:15:00
It appears that this week is full of meaningless surveys. However, I think with the newest Washington Post-ABC News poll, we have all reached a new level of absurdity. According to the poll, about half of the public thinks the Supreme Court is generally balanced in its decisions, but a growing number of Americans say the court has become "too conservative" in the two years since President Bush began nominating justices. I bet if they polled that same sample of respondents, half of them would not know who Samuel Alito is. Moreover, most Americans, including members of the media, have never read a legal case. Sadly, even if they did, most of them would not know how to determine the merits of its holding. It is not the fault of these people, but there is a reason why people go to law school for three years, and then spend decades mastering the profession. While lack of legal knowledge is understandable for the majority of Americans, some people have no excuse. For example, the ...

Libertarians And Social Conservatives Need To Wake Up!!!!
2007-07-28 14:03:00
Breitbart has a terrifying account of the the current assault being conducted by liberals against the advertisers on all of Fox News channels. This leftist thuggery of course is cheered on by the mainstream media as well as the leadership of the Democrat Party (they refuse to debate on Fox).In 2006, the GOP got thrown out because they were a bunch of corrupt crooks. We should have known better. The left has moved further and faster to its fascist roots then I ever could have imagined. This fascist drift of the Dems has the support of the media and they want Fox News dead (not to mention Limbaugh, Dr. Laura, Boortz, Savage, etc.); they can't even tolerate Lou Dobbs.Libertarians and Conservatives alike must act. The American left has exposed itself as the greatest threat to individual liberty we have faced in a generation. Giving these people the keys to the car would be the end of our Republic in so many ways.Related EditorialsLiberals And TaxesDaily Kos Bans Copious DissentLiber ...
