Bill Maher Attacks 9/11 Truthers and Loose Change Lunatics on Real Time on HBO
2007-09-15 00:02:00
I wasn't able to write a full review tonight of Real Time with Bill Maher as I usually do. Instead I wrote about John Stossel and his Special on American healthcare.Nevertheless, I did catch the last New Rule tonight and it was certainly worth it. Bill Maher amazingly attacked the 9/11 Truthers. He called them "lunatics" and told them to stop telling him to talk about them on his show. The New Rule was as follows:New Rule: Crazy people who still think the government brought down the Twin Towers in a controlled explosion have to stop pretending that I'm the one that's being naïve. How big a lunatic do you have to be to watch two giant airliners packed with jet fuel slam into buildings on live TV igniting a massive inferno that burned for two hours and then think, "Well, if you believe that was the cause?" Stop asking me to raise this ridiculous topic on this show and start asking your doctor if Paxil is right for you.I was almost up on my seat applauding when he said it. Now it w ...

ABC News: Whose Body Is It, Anyway? Sick in America with John Stossel and Michael Moore
2007-09-14 23:14:00
John Stossel produced an excellent one-hour special on 20/20 regarding our Nation’s healthcare system. As usual, Stossel attempted to educate the public on why limited government and capitalism work. It is too bad that our supposed “small government” politicians do not do the same thing. I digress.John Stossel started the show with a very balanced discussion. He spoke with many people who have severe financial troubles as a result of their health problems. Some of the people he found were very fearful of illness. If they got sick, they may have to file for bankruptcy.Nevertheless, the reason for their problems was brilliantly addressed by Stossel. It was not because of profit that people pay such high prices; it is because people have third-parties paying for them. As a result, patients have no idea what healthcare visits cost, the doctors have no idea what the healthcare costs, and there is no competition. With no competition, people do not shop to different doctors bas ...

Liberal Associated Press “Journalist” Fails to Read Flawed Global Warming Study He Reported
2007-09-14 20:40:00
As usual, the Associated Press disguised an editorial as a real article. The title of the editorial/ article was: “More Bad Air Days for U.S. Cities.” Underneath the title it says, “Study: 10 U.S. Cities Will Have Increase Unsafe Air Days If Global Warming Continues Unabated.” It turns out that the study was conducted by the Natural Resources Defense Council in partnership with several universities, including Yale and Johns Hopkins, and was published in the scientific journal Climatic Change.First, it must be noted that the NRDC accepts funding from environmentalists and has a clear agenda according to its own website: “NRDC is the nation's most effective environmental action organization. We use law, science and the support of 1.2 million members and online activists to protect the planet's wildlife and wild places and to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all living things.” Not only is it a lobbying organization by its own admission, this would imply a confl ...

Doctors Refuse to Fix Builder's Broken Ankle Unless He Quits Smoking: The Benefits of Socialized Medicine
2007-09-14 14:10:00
Tonight on ABC’s 20/20 Michael Moore will debate John Stossel regarding socialized medicine (come back later tonight for a review of the show). John Stossel, whose ideology is based on statistics, facts, and common sense, will destroy Michael Moore like nothing you will ever see. Presumably, John Stossel will attack Moore for his baseless comments that Cuba’s healthcare should be emulated. As a result, we can expect Michael Moore to divert the question and say instead that we should focus on Canada’s and Great Britain’s healthcare system. Well, as we shall see, Britain’s healthcare is neither about health nor caring; it is about control and big government.Just to prove this point, take a look at this ridiculous story and ask yourself if we want to bring this great socialized system to America.“A man with a broken ankle is facing a lifetime of pain because a Health Service hospital has refused to treat him unless he gives up smoking.John Nuttall, 57, needs surgery to set the ...

John Edwards Buys Ad to Rebut Bush on Iraq on MSNBC: MSNBC Still Refuses to Run Pro-War Ads
2007-09-13 12:58:00
While MSNBC refuses to run pro-war advertisements, they have provided John Edwards a two-minute advertising slot to bash President Bush and rebut the War in Iraq. Yes, John Edwards has purchased two minutes of air time on MSNBC, scheduled to air after Bush's 15-minute televised speech from the White House at 9 p.m. EDT. This is nothing but a pathetic political ploy from a man who voted for the War.Embarrassingly, John Edwards has already taped the rebuttal, making this “rebuttal” an oxymoron. Notably, rebuttals are supposed to be responses to what someone else says, not something that is planned ahead of time. Moreover, there is no doubt that Edwards will have consultants write his entire script and everything will be choreographed. His hair will look impeccable.Nevertheless, I think it would be hilarious if George Bush got on television and started talking about something other than the Iraq War, like the weather or how happy he is that his daughter is getting married. Then ...

Liberal Media Around the World Reports that Russian's "Father of All Bombs" is Environmentally Friendly Because a Russian Military General Says So
2007-09-12 22:53:00
Dennis Miller once made a joke that liberals will get behind the War in Iraq when we can develop Green weapons. Well, it appears that the Russians have done just that with arguably the most powerful bomb ever invented. It also appears they have convinced the liberal media around the world that the development of this bomb is a good thing. In fact, another article from Australia focused almost exclusively on the environmental benefits. How do they know it is environmentally friendly? Col. Gen. Alexander Rukshin, a deputy chief of the Russian military's General Staff said, "Unlike a nuclear weapon, the bomb doesn't hurt the environment." So this became the story. Wow!! Just like America, where General Petraeus can say something and reporters take him at his word. Not only do they take him at his word, they base their story around what he says. This is just ridiculous. So according to the World Media, who liberals hope to emulate, "The Russian military has successfully tested what it de ...

Hillary Clinton Fact #5
2007-09-12 16:23:00
During the 1992 campaign, Madame Hillary defended her role in the Madison Guarantee S&L scandal by saying, "I suppose I could have stayed home and baked cookies and had teas. But what I decided to do was pursue my profession, which I entered before my husband was in public life."Forgotten, however, is what inspired this homily: accusations that Ms. Clinton had represented Whitewater business partner Jim McDougal's S&L before her husband's government. Here's what the New York Times reported on March 17, 1992: "Hillary Clinton said today that she did not earn 'a penny' from state business conducted by her Little Rock law firm and that she never intervened with state regulators on behalf of a failed Arkansas savings and loan association. . . "Records would show that she did, in fact, represent Madison before the state securities department. After the revelation, she says, "For goodness sakes, you can't be a lawyer if you don't represent banks."Susan McDougal recalled Madame Hil ...

How Liberals are Destroying this Country: High School Bans American Flag
2007-09-12 13:50:00
Update: Ban was rescinded (09/12/07). But the damage was already done.So now a little girl cannot wear an American flag to school in memory of those who died on 9/11.The liberal teachers and administrators who told the girl to take her shirt off with the American flag should be thrown out of the Country. Under a new school rule, students at Hobbton High School are not allowed to wear items with flags, from any country, including the United States. If they wanted to have sex with the teacher, I guess that would be okay?Where is the ACLU to defend this child's freedom of speech? They will defend a kid to put up a sign that says, "Bong Hits 4-Jesus," but a little girl cannot wear the American Flag to School!Thank you liberals for destroying this Country. Here is a video of liberals in San Fransisco. We should all be thankful that our we pay the salaries of the Professor who stepping in at the end to support the American liberal communists desecrating the American flag during a 9/11 m ...

Media Matters Spouts its Own Flawed Study as Fact: How They Did It, In Great Detail
2007-09-12 00:05:00
Media Matters, like the last time it posted a study, is intentionally misleading its audience. Why would they do this? The answer is because they have utter contempt for their own visitors whom they hope will not expose their own deliberate misinformation. The last time they posted a study, it was conducted by the University of Indiana. The study supposedly found that Bill O’Reilly uses name-calling 8.88 times per minute on his show. In reality, they found such a high number of occurrences because the study was coded by biased professors. Words such as far-left and very liberal were coded as a form a name-calling. It was also ambiguous whether or not simply being called a liberal was name-calling. The researchers even admitted that there were problems with the coding and their Subjects. Nevertheless, Media Matters made no mention of that to their audience. But, they did spout the entire study as fact.Consequently, as a result of Media Matters running the story, liberal column ...

President Bush: Not Such A Lame Duck After All. . .
2007-09-11 16:21:00
Typically, Presidents in their last 2 years focus on issues that are generally popular and ones they feel they can get past a hostile Congress. President Clinton focused on seat belt laws and the Head Start program. Reagan focused on preserving his early accomplishments and solidifying his foreign policy goals (most of the goals had been achieved). Nevertheless, in the face of losing congress last year, George Bush has not veered from the most important objective of his presidency.Months later the Iraq Study Group led by Saudiphile and antisemite James Baker stated:"The situation in Iraq is grave and deteriorating. ... A slide toward chaos could trigger the collapse of Iraq's government and a humanitarian disaster. ... The situation in Baghdad and several provinces is dire. ... Pessimism is pervasive. ... Violence is increasing in scope, complexity and lethality." Bush treated the Iraq Study Group's findings as they should have been - worthless. All the while facing a Democrat majori ...

Liberals Whine about Rising University Tuition and Student Debt: Fail to Recognize the Problem is Big Government
2007-09-11 12:11:00
Barbara Ehrenreich of The Nation magazine recently wrote the typical liberal editorial. She addressed a problem and then stated we need to “do something about it.” The “do something about it” clearly involves government intervention to fix the crisis. Well, Ehrenreich and the Nation magazine fail to recognize that government is not the solution; government is the problem. Each year, many students pile on debt attending American universities. As tuition costs increase, the problem exacerbates. On average, students graduate with "$20,000 in debt," while others owe astronomical sums. In fact, some students are so deep in debt that they may spend decades paying off their loans, if they will ever be able to do it at all.Just to get an idea how high the prices are today, George Washington University now costs "$39,210 a year, or $50,000 with room and board." Some of these charges are intended to improve the indoctrination process. The universities call these extra fees "student activi ...

California Democrats Ignore Popular Will, Push Gay Marriage On Voters Who Rejected It . . .
2007-09-10 09:28:00
For the second time now, against the popular will of the people, The California Legislature has passed a law authorizing gay marriage. Governor Schwarzenegger vetoed the bill earlier and is expected to do the same. The LA Times of course treats this as a total non issue as they buried it in a story about sentencing guidelines:With federal judges pondering a cap on California’s prison population, a measure that experts say could ease overcrowding fell to defeat Friday in the Legislature. But lawmakers voted to legalize gay marriage by passing a bill that is almost certainly headed for a veto. The story also ignores that the statute is illegal if it purports to change the law without submitting the issue to the consent of the voters of the state. What this means is that the California State Legislature knowingly passed a law that undermines popular will and its state's own laws. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that this is how a Democrat controlled legislature operates. They only belie ...

Hannity’s America: Sean Hannity Exposes Al Gore and Liberals with Their Global Warming Hypocrisy (UPDATED)
2007-09-09 16:54:00
Sean Hannity on Fox News’ Hannity’s America, created an amazing exclusive video on Al Gore’s hypocrisy. While Al Gore tells everyone that there is a climate crisis that needs to be solved. He is not only a hypocrite, he is demonstrably insane.Sean Hannity showed a video of Al Gore getting off a massive private jet. The twin engine jet was the model of jet that is so loud that many airports do not allow it on their runways. Then Al Gore gets out of the private jet and into a Lincoln Town Car, not a hybrid. It turns out that Al Gore flew his plane from Nashville, Tennessee to San Francisco and then from San Francisco to Camarillo. This was a total of 2100 miles in one day.If we were to calculate the amount of carbon emitted from Al Gore’s trip from Nashville to San Francisco, it would be 45,000 pounds of carbon. From Camarillo to San Fransisco, it would be 10,000 pounds of carbon, for a total of 55,000 pounds of carbon.Notably the average car emits .916 lbs. of CO2/ gallon ...

UFC 75: Quinton “Rampage” Jackson Defeats Dan Henderson, Unifies the UFC and Pride Light Heavyweight Belts
2007-09-08 23:03:00
UFC 75 had very entertaining fights.Mirko CroCop failed to redeem himself against Cheick Kongo after his most recent loss to Gabriel Gonzaga. In the beginning of the match, CroCop kept Kongo backpedaling. This aggressive style seemed to work well and allowed him to totally neutralize Kongo. Amazingly, Mirko was able to put Kongo in a full mount and almost achieved an armbar in the skirmish. In the second round, however, Cheick Kongo came out on the attack and scored a takedown. He also demonstrated a pretty decent ground game. When the two rose again, Kongo landed some devastating knees to the body in the clinch. In the final round, Crocop got kneed in the groin, but Kongo was relentless. Consequently, Crocop was simply reacting to the onslaught instead of being the aggressor. To be honest, he looked very slow and it appears he has passed his prime. Nevertheless, he left us with some great memories.Later on the card, the fight between Michael Bisping and Matt Hamill was very en ...
