Budget Deficit Update. . . 2007-10-12 10:19:00 This week's data once again proves that lower marginal tax rates on capital gains and income enable the government to lower the Federal budget deficit. Now the White House is claiming that the deficit is lower because of good tax policy and fiscal restraint. This is a total lie. Washington has demonstrated no such fiscal discipline. It does however illustrate just how effective tax cuts are at lowering the deficit when you consider it has been accomplished amidst rampant federal spending.
