Has the United States already submitted to Islam?
2007-10-04 09:05:32
I can barely bring myself to even post these reports. Thanks to Always On Watch for alerting me, Center for Vigilant Freedom, Eye on the World and Ace of Spades.
First we read what’s going on in Congress and then the Pentagon:

Islamic Glacier Alert: Toronto mosque says to avoid Western holidays
2007-10-03 10:11:28
Santa’s got a list and he’s checking it twice and dang if he can’t find many Muslims on it. Islamic leaders in Canada are making sure the ‘list’ stays that way. No ‘Happy Birthday’ for you! From the
National Post to my ‘Resistance is Futile’ department comes this story (hat-tip: Dhimmi Watch):
TORONTO - A Toronto mosque is telling Muslims not to say “Happy Thanksgiving” or invite friends into their homes for turkey dinner on the holiday weekend.
The Khalid Bin Al-Walid Mosque says to “avoid participating” in dinners, parties or greetings on Thanksgiving because it is a kuffaar, or non-Muslim, celebration.
A two-part article on the mosque Web site says Muslims should also “stay completely away” from “Halloween trick-and treat nonsense,” Christmas, New Year’s, anniversaries, birthdays and Earth Day.
“How can we bring ourselves to congratulate or wish people well for thei ...

Cox & Forkum Taking a Final Bow (for now)
2007-10-02 17:36:59
My favorite political cartoonists over at Cox & Forkum Editorial Cartoons are calling it quits for all the reasons that I myself absolutely relate to. If you have been paying attention at all here at the Anvil, you have noted their work featured here every day.
This is a sad realization that negative energy and mediocre financing can push people further away from pursuing this grind on a daily basis, but I know that these gentlemen will be heard from again and again down the road when the creative and righteous call becomes too difficult to ignore. Here is some of what Mr. Forkum had to say on the matter:
Let me start by saying that quitting editorial cartooning has been one of my toughest decisions. Having such a creative outlet for expressing my opinions is immensely satisfying. It’s an art form I’ve admired for decades, so I do not take lightly having the opportunity to work in the medium and to have that work seen by others. One of my proudest moments came soon a ...

NYU student journalist sees no jihad in footbaths
2007-10-02 10:03:56
The following article written by Abbey Fenbert, The fear of footbaths: It’s not exactly jihad, caught my eye this morning. The NYU student makes some pretty amusing statements. Well, amusing to me because I’m the jaded infidel, probably sad for most of you. Let’s have a look:
The Muslims are coming. They have footbaths. RUN!!!
WSN’s Sept. 24 article, “Muslims lacking a place to cleanse,” pointed out that footbaths might be a better option than the Bobst sinks for Islamic students washing their feet in observance of Salah, the daily prayer ritual. This provoked passionate debate in the online article comments, with many readers posting responses best described as bat-shit crazy.
Yes, the drama of our time - a footbath.
Some commenters thought footbaths would be an unnecessary cost. Others just found the whole foot-in-sink thing gross. And then there were your garden-variety “Muslims smell” threads.
When I read those comments, I get the ...

Afghan boy hanged with US dollars stuffed in his mouth
2007-10-01 09:58:01
This Associated Press report was just too brutal in its reality not to cross-post. (Thanks to Jihad Watch.)
KANDAHAR, Afghanistan - Taliban militants hanged a teenager in southern Afghanistan because he had U.S. money in his pocket, and they stuffed five $1 bills in his mouth as a warning to others not to use dollars, police said Monday. Taliban militants elsewhere killed eight police.
The 15-year-old boy was hanged from a tree on Sunday in Helmand, the most violent province in the country and the world’s No. 1 poppy-growing region.
“The Taliban warned villagers that they would face the same punishment if they were caught with dollars,” said Wali Mohammad, the district police chief in Sangin.
Dollars are commonly used in Afghanistan alongside the afghani, the local currency, although the U.S. currency is more commonly seen in larger cities where international organizations are found.
Militants often justify their attacks and executions as a response to U.S. meddling ...

Open Thread: Clarity
2007-09-30 10:36:34
There is an interesting Jihad Watch thread this morning centered around McCain: US founded on Christian principles, shouldn’t have Muslim president.
GOP presidential candidate John McCain says America is better off with a Christian President and he doesn’t want a Muslim in the Oval Office.
“I admire the Islam. There’s a lot of good principles in it,” he said. “But I just have to say in all candor that since this nation was founded primarily on Christian principles, personally, I prefer someone who I know who has a solid grounding in my faith.”
As you might predict, CAIR immediately has jumped on such statements and is attempting to pave the way for a Muslim U.S. President and more Muslim members of Congress. Read the New York Daily News article.
I had the following immediate response:
I would never vote for a Muslim in any office, on any level in the United States. Period.
Geez. It ain’t like my clarity is anything new…I have made ...

Your children will be Muslim: Sitcom ‘Aliens in America’ plays anti-Muslim hostility for laughs
2007-09-29 12:55:14
This is just the start of a wave of televised propaganda that you should come to expect. Cartoons are on the way for the kiddies, too. Learn to love the very thing that will destroy you.
FromThe Associated Press:
A group of Muslim worshippers were gathered for evening prayer inside the Islamic Center of Southern California when Moses Port and David Guarascio arrived.
“The fact that we’re here is bigger than anything we could have even hoped for,” said Guarascio, creator, along with Port, of the CW sitcom “Aliens in America.” “But being here seems to make sense, you know, appropriate.”
Appropriate, certainly, for the bold, satirical comedy, premiering at 8:30 p.m. Oct. 1, which explores Americans’ fears and cultural ignorance of Muslims. Port, who’s Jewish, and Guarascio, who was raised Catholic, were at the Islamic Center this night to introduce their new series to the faithful.
Though not unique – the popular Canadian series &l ...

Opening Sequence for ‘The Kingdom’ Lends Historical Insight
2007-09-28 12:15:28
From Yahoo:
The Kingdom starts with a montage sweeping through the dustry sands of Saudi Arabia, briefly detailing the kingdom, the US, and its long history with oil, from 1932 to 2001. While that may sound boring, or even yawn-worthy, the music and editing on this sequence breeds more anticipation than some action movies. Historical video and audio clips are laid out on a clear timeline, and while no brief mention of an event can do it justice, it’s a quick and excellent short primer for the movie. There’s nothing quite as distracting as trying to follow along with everything in a film, especially a documentary, when you don’t know the background.
It’s definitely done it’s job. I was interested before the clip, and after seeing the opening, it’s on my short list. Playing similarly to a trailer, it’s educational and interesting, and it’s got so much information packed into a few minutes that it won’t hurt to see it again when you go ...

Congressional call for Iranian Revolutionary Guards to be designated “terrorists” is a weak move
2007-09-28 10:35:05
From Agence France-Presse:
WASHINGTON — The US Senate has called for Iran’s Revolutionary Guards to be officially designated a “foreign terrorist organisation,” a day after the House of Representatives passed a similar measure.
The Senate on Wednesday voted 76-22 for the non-binding amendment sponsored by Republican Jon Kyl and independent Joseph Lieberman to place the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, or Pasdaran, on the US terrorist blacklist.
You might expect that I would be happy about this move.
This is outrageously ridiculous. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards are to be treated as a separate “terrorist” organization? What does it take to declare war on an Islamic state that has been murdering Americans for decades and threatens to bring the civilized world into chaos ushered in with nuclear holocaust?
Don’t act like this is some sort of victory, folks. The very notion that parts of the Iranian government should be separated from the r ...

This Picture is Worth 1 Million Words
2007-09-27 08:50:43
Thanks to Atlas Shrugs and photographer Dean Shaddock, we have an image that should burn into the brain of just about every red-blooded American that comes by the Anvil. We have reached a point of appeasement and ridiculousness in our country that defies description, so I will allow this photo to do the job for me. The location is, unsurprisingly, Detroit International Airport, Concourse A.
Islam is erroding our innocence, sanctity and peace-of-mind as a democratic society. Please tell me again why I should quietly accept any of this? I dare you. Tell me again!

Madeleine McCann possibly held by Muslim Moroccan slave traders
2007-09-26 09:44:53
As incredible as it might sound, very recent photographic evidence is stirring interest in the case of missing Madeleine McCann not in Portugal, but in Morocco. The photo being examined also clearly shows something else of great interest to me: the women that are carrying the white, blond-haired girl are most certainly Muslim. Simply take into account the nation of Morocco (98% Muslim) and the head-coverings on the women and the odds that you are looking at Buddhists is quite slim.
I am going to go out on a limb here: I have long had an uncanny knack for identifying people beneath even Hollywood makeup or from afar, such as at sporting events, and in fact I have helped apprehend a fugitive when I identified him from a ten year old photograph. My very first reaction when I first saw this photograph is that this is indeed Madeleine McCann. I will stick to this tune until I am proven wrong. Experts have examined the photo snapped by a Spanish tourist. The photograph is now being a ...

Islam: The Class Envy Appeal
2007-09-26 08:50:36
Another Boycott Islam alert from Dr. Daniel Pipes via FrontPage Magazine (hat-tip: 1389):
While the outside world hardly noticed, a significant and rapidly growing amount of money is now being managed in accord with Islamic law, the Shari‘a. According to one study, “by the end of 2005, more than 300 institutions in over 65 jurisdictions were managing assets worth around US$700 billion to US$1 trillion in a Shari’ah-compatible manner.”
Islamic economics increasingly has become force to contend with, burgeoning portfolios of oil exporters and multiplying Islamic financial instruments (such as interest-free mortgages and sukuk bonds). But what does it all amount to? Can Shari’a-compliant instruments challenge the existing international financial order? Would an Islamic economic regime, as an enthusiast claims, really imply end injustice due to “the State’s provision for the well-being of all people”?
To understand this system, the ideal place t ...

Ahmadinejad knows the power of boldfaced lies
2007-09-25 08:15:07
When Mahmoud Ahmadinejad lies to an audience at Columbia University and states that “there are no homosexuals in Iran” it isn’t the lie that matters, it is the persistence with which he tells such lies. When Mahmoud Ahmadinejad refuses to answer “yes” or “no” to a simple question — “Did the holocaust happen?” — it is the opportunity for him to call out for “justice” for the “Palestinian people”, all in the hopes of making more people forget that the Jews have a right to own their own nation, and in hopes of making people believe that there ever was a nation called Palestine (which there was not).
The power of boldfaced lies repeated often enough or even unspoken but implied are historically potent and deadly. Hitler was a master of propaganda and so is Ahmadinejad. But it goes far, far beyond just Ahmadinejad.
Islam itself is the ultimate of lies.
So, if Islam itself is a false religion, why sh ...

Ahmadinejad Speaking at Columbia U. 1:30 EST Sept. 24, 2007
2007-09-24 12:13:54
Despite rumors and press postings to the contrary, Iranian President Ahmadinejad is indeed going to appear behind the podium at Columbia University in New York City today. Ahmadinejad will deliver a prepared speech at 1:30 EST and then take part in a question and answer session with the Columbia students.
The sad thing in all of this is that just as many of the students at Columbia that claim they understand that Ahmadinejad is a hate-monger would also say the very same thing about someone like me. Think about that while you’re perhaps watching the live televised coverage of Ahmadinejad or the YouTube copies that will no doubt be posted later today.
I hope that the students at Columbia come away from this that much the wiser, but for some reason I do not have very much faith in this younger generation to be able to sort out truth from fiction. Since the vast majority of my readership here at the Anvil is over 26 years of age, that perhaps is part of my pessimistic attitude in ...

Open Thread: Protest Against Ahmadinejad
2007-09-23 11:38:22
It’s Sunday already? I’m taking a breather today, but I wanted to open up discussions again as usual.
I also want to bring to your attention some protest information for any of you that might be in the NYC area on Monday. President Ahmadinejad of Iran is in New York, as most of you know, and he’s set to be a “Guest of Honor” at Columbia University. This in itself is a travesty and many people are quite upset about it, especially American Jews who aren’t too happy about a man that denies the Holocaust and threatens destruction of Israel on a fairly regular basis.
This is equivalent to inviting Adolph Hitler to speak before the United Nations and U.S. students during World War II. Our Academia in the U.S. have truly lost a good portion of their minds and American Common Sense to the ‘insanely liberal’ process.
Here are some planned protest details as I receive word of them:
