Matthies: Political Islam Gets Switzerland’s Goat
2007-11-16 10:34:16
I am cross-posting the following article from the Middle East Forum in its entirety, complete with links. I believe we are witnessing a very interesting trend in Europeans of late — a trend that clearly shows that they are not going to go down to Islamism without a fight! Thanks to all who sent this in. Political Islam Gets Switzerland’s Goat by R. John Matthies American Thinker November 8, 2007 The face of European populism is, these days, white and bristly. And it answers to a comic name. Meet “Zottel,” the billy goat mascot of the Swiss People’s Party (SVP). Zottel, the party’s “bleating” heart, was conscripted to enliven October’s federal elections; and, as any Swiss will tell you, he’s become a celebrity in his own right. He is familiar across the nation as title character of Alois Carigiet’s “Zottel, Zick und Zwerg” (Anton the Goatherd), 1966 winner of the Swiss Youth Book prize. But most important, ...
Helping TheReligionofPeace.com in order to help ourselves
2007-11-14 06:21:13
The Religion of Peace Needs Our Help! No, not that ‘Religion of Peace.’ This one. An individual that I refuse to name here again (but many of my regular readers will know of and who’s name may be found quoted below) has targeted the gentle folks at The Religion of Peace in an effort to shut down the site just as he attempted to shut down the Anvil and Jihad Watch and others. The results of this phony reverend’s actions provoked a number of internet companies to incorrectly categorize The Religion of Peace. These incorrect categories have caused the site to be listed as a hate site, and consequently blocked by some servers. I know that the accusations made by Sutter, and the various companies are patently false. The Religion of Peace provides accurate facts about Islam – not lies. The site is not racist. Islam is not a race but a political and cultist ideology. The Religion of Peace speaks out against all violence that is directed towards non-Muslims an ...
Tancredo Puts Forth Dangerously Truthful Campaign Ad
2007-11-13 06:37:21
Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo has the guts to tell it like it is about the threat from illegal immigration and Islamic terrorists all in one quick new campaign commercial. As far as I am concerned, this is the closest yet that any candidate for the Presidency has come to actually confronting the greatest and most dire issue of our time: Islamism. Tancredo deserves high praise for this campaign spot, but I guarantee he will get just as much or more negative attention for being so bold, because that is the state of this nation of ours; we are constantly mislead by a Leftist media that is expert at playing ‘See no Evil, hear no Evil’ when it comes to the Islamist agenda. Have a look and judge for yourself: (more…) Similar Posts:Tancredo forms Presidential exploratory committee Why the Democrats shouldn’t win the White House Tancredo’s threat to bomb Muslim holy sites would work for Ender Endorsement for 3rd District Congress Invasion: Mexican drug c ...
Tensions Rising in Eurabia
2007-11-12 09:52:01
Vlaams Belang (translation: Flemish Interest) is political party in Beligum that is standing up to the Islamists in Europe and actively attempting to protect European and Christian heritage. The following video footage out of Berchem district in Antwerp, Belgium comes from a Dutch language site run by Bart Debie. The very rough translation from Bart’s blog follows (hat-tip: Atlas Shrugs): No, these are not the filmopnames of “Los” in the heart of Berchem. This is a video of our anti-mosque demonstration last week. Our club against a gang lievertjes with them only a handful of policemen. Translated video description: Vlaams Belang argues against mosque (fire is burning) in Antwerp North. According to Dewinter is a mosque in violation of our cultural heritage. Buurtbewoners were not satisfied with the demonstration, and started spontaneously a tegenbetoging which eventually 3x more people to the flemish been brought to the nationalists. Today is the day when we honor those soldiers that have served and died to protect our freedoms and the Constitution of the United States of America. Whether you are attending a ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery or shaking the hand of a veteran you know, let all those that have gone into the fight understand how much we appreciate them. We have the greatest military in the history of the world here in the U.S.A. Our military traditions are time-honored and world renowned. These men and women make us all proud, but they most importantly keep us free. Remember them today. This thread is now open. I’m Watching You, China
2007-11-10 07:51:44
Quite obviously the main focus of the Anvil is Islamic Terrorism and the greater threat of Islamism. This undoubtedly suits the old guard KGB that are hiding in the shadows and it helps the Chinese Communists sleep well at night, too. But I’m not unaware of the “big picture” and the other “bad guys” out there. I’m watching you, China. Don’t fall asleep at the wheel. That’s bad for your health. Don’t fall asleep at the supermarket either or the local Wal-Mart; check those labels! If you have kids or pets then you are very wide awake while shopping. Could all these bad additives in the pet food just be bad oversight alone? Lead paint and date-rape chemicals in toys? China definitely puts a lower standard on the sanctity of the average life than we do as Americans, but come on now, that’s a little too low, right? What the Hell is going on? You have every right to be suspicious. You have an even greater right to r ...
War on Christmas: Al Qaeda May Strike U.S. Shopping Malls
2007-11-09 08:15:02
The FBI has released a report detailing the prospect that Al Qaeda may be plotting to strike shopping malls this holiday season. That’s taking the ‘War on Christmas’ to an entirely new level. Ho, ho, ho! Allahu Akbar! From ABC News: The FBI is warning that al Qaeda may be preparing a series of holiday attacks on U.S. shopping malls in Los Angeles and Chicago, according to an intelligence report distributed to law enforcement authorities across the country this morning. Click here for full text. The alert said al Qaeda “hoped to disrupt the U.S. economy and has been planning the attack for the past two years.” Law enforcement officials tell ABCNews.com that the FBI received the information in late September and declassified it yesterday for wide distribution. The alert, like similar FBI and Department of Homeland Security terror alerts issued over the past five years at holiday times, raised questions about the credibility of the information. The bulle ...
What Do Muslim Gays and Non-Muslims Have in Common?
2007-11-08 08:41:55
From the New York Times: SAN FRANCISCO — About 15 people marched alongside the Muslim float in this city’s notoriously fleshy Gay Pride Parade earlier this year, with various men carrying the flags of Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine and Turkey and even Iran’s old imperial banner. While other floats featured men dancing in leather Speedos or women with scant duct tape over their nipples, many Muslims were disguised behind big sunglasses, fezzes or kaffiyehs wrapped around their heads. Even as they reveled in newfound freedom compared with the Muslim world, they remained closeted, worried about being ostracized at the mosque or at their local falafel stand. “They’re afraid of the rest of the community here,” said Ayman, a stocky 31-year-old from Jordan, who won asylum in the United States last year on the basis of his sexuality. “It’s such a big wrong in the Koran that it is impossible to be accepted.” For gay Muslims, change may come via a nascent body of scholarship in mino ...
For President: Not Who But Why
2007-11-07 09:45:25
I still can’t bring myself to endorse any of the current U.S. Presidential candidates. This doesn’t really surprise me; the choices available are fairly equal to one another depending on how you view them through the political prism. On one hand we have a power-hungry feminist Senator from New York, and on the other, a legal-savvy in-fighter from New York City. On one hand we have the tall gravitas of a seasoned Republican actor, and on the other, the lanky charm of a spirited Democratic newcomer. And that’s just the front line. You get the picture, I’m sure. So, how do we decide? Who will best serve the United States of America after 2008? These questions are best answered by understanding that we have to seek out why we need a President in the coming years and what should be expected of him or her. Priorities matter. Let’s get that into the ring right away and examine the basics that we already know are being put out there by the candidates. Globa ...

The Furious Pace of Global Jihad

Musharraf in his own words: Pakistan in ‘downward trend’
2007-11-05 18:55:15
This pre-recorded video was played on Al Jazeera. In it Pervez Musharraf defends his reasoning behind declaring emergency rule in Pakistan. It is my opinion that we had better do everything we can to keep Musharraf safe and in control of Pakistan and if we fail to do so, we’d best have Special Forces standing by to drop in and secure that nuclear arsenal. Musharraf on Borrowed Time
2007-11-05 10:30:05
Things don’t look too good for our hero in Pakistan, ladies and gentlemen. Do you think that the Bush Administration is prepared to do anything it can to keep Musharraf in power and protect the world from Islamist control of real caches of nuclear weapons? You’d better think twice. George W. keeps swinging at windmills or accepting money from Saudi Arabian lobbyists, depending on your perspective. In my case, I think old George is a clueless nitwit who walks the fine line of becoming a traitor out of criminal ignorance of Islamism. Someone should remind our President that he took an oath. The White House called emergency rule “very disappointing.” “President Musharraf needs to stand by his pledges to have free and fair elections in January and step down as chief of army staff before retaking the presidential oath of office,” spokesman Gordon Johndroe said. The United States however said there was no plan to suspend military aid ...
Open Thread: The Coming Third World War
2007-11-04 09:59:05
It’s Open Thread Sunday here at the Anvil again already, but today I want you to go read an article by British Author Paul Weston over at Gates of Vienna (hat-tip: Sounder). Here’s a taste: When Francis Fukuyama wrote The End of History and the Last Man in 1993, it was to argue that Western liberal democracy and free market economics meant an end to warfare within the west, and by default, the end of history. Fukuyama was drawing on Winston Churchill, who stated: “The history of man is war”, thus allowing Fukuyama to propose that a future consisting of perpetual peace meant an end to history itself, history being simply a narrative of warfare, conquest and re-conquest, rather than which queen succeeded which king and on which date. This idea that warfare within the West is now a thing of the past seems to be shared by an overwhelming section of Western people, reared as they are on a diet of enlightened tolerance and historical ignorance. In 1990 it would have been rela ...
Italians Stop Mosque
2007-11-02 11:47:12
Eye On The World has brought an interesting article to light this morning: Italy: Muslims may drop proposed mosque in northern town. It would seem that not all of Europe is ready to quietly give into Sharia Creep. I am not surprised that one of the toughest bastions of hope for freedom and common sense remains embodied in the nation of Italy. Read the details. Ladner: What it really means to be Islamophobic
2007-11-01 11:19:47
It is so refreshing to come across an op-ed piece from a college writer that actually aligns with my own way of thinking. This morning I am cross-posting such an editorial from over at Tufts Daily by an International Relations major named Matthew Ladner (links and emphasis added). Mr. Ladner takes to task the notion that Islamophobia is a fairly diagnosed condition and proves in just enough words that we all have a right to hold Islam suspect if we feel justly threatened by Sharia Law and the like. Mr. Ladner also stands up to a Professor Leupp’s politically correct characterizations, assumptions and accusations. Many more students should look to this sort of example and follow suit. Do not give in to the lemmings that teach you how to walk off of cliffs, boys and girls. Make up your own minds and speak them, or type them, as the case may be! While it is flattering that Professor Leupp recently took the time to respond to my Oct. 23 editorial, “It’s called jihad ...
