Opus Pocus: Now you see a comic strip, now you don’t — thanks to Islam 2007-08-27 13:02:48 Well, here we go again. This time it’s cartoonist Berkeley Breathed of Bloom County and Opus fame that is feeling the pinch of Dhimmi American media and the ongoing tug-of-war with Muslim “sensitivities.” It seems that the latest (August 26th) and upcoming (September 2nd) Opus comic strips are just too hot for quite a few (c. 25) American newspapers to publish. Open Thread Sundays and Podcasts 2007-08-26 10:58:21 I’m considering making Sundays a traditional day for an ‘open thread’ on the Anvil. In addition to that, I have the urge to also make each Sunday a day when I publish a new podcast of some sort, be it an interview or an editorial. This way I get to enjoy some sunshine and get away from my desk at least one day a week, yet at the same time “deliver the goods” seven days a week. Today though I do not intend to post a new podcast, simply because I was not 100% satisfied with the vocal quality on my flagship podcast. I need to purchase a good but not overly expensive condenser microphone, and then once that is done, I will have no more excuses to refrain from putting out a regular stream of podcasts. The “field” of my old posts is fertile, so it should be quite easy for me to create at least one new podcast each week. This thread is now wide open to any topic you might like to bring up. I recorded and mixed one of the most popular articles on the Anvil today as a podcast, Don’t tell me to accept Islam, and added it to the sidebar podcast player. You will be able to find a podcast player embedded into all articles in the Podcasts category in the archives, though I will soon also add Podcasts to the main sidebar menu as its own section.
