iPhone NewsLeading up to the iPhone release I covered most major news stories mainly out of disdain and shock at how Apple was controlling the media and creating such an immense hype over a first-generation piece of multimedia crap. After its first weekend on sale it has become clear that the American public is composed of a bunch of morons. Reports now have it that nearly 700,000 iPhones flew off the shelves since its release. Apparently that is pretty much all of the first shipment that went out. So what does that equate for Apple?Multiple reports have come out to say that Apple is making a 55% profit off of every iPhone sold (can anyone say price gouging?) which means for every $500-600 phone they make $250-300. Multiply that by 700,000 in less than a week = $210 million median profit. Not to mention that their stock has risen 5% and is now selling for 127 per share.Such greed and corporate growth is ridiculous and shameful. Even more shame to anyone who bought into it.CavemenEveryo ...

July 4th: Patriotism for Sale
2007-07-05 15:52:00
Yesterday many Americans celebrated the holiday known as July 4th which is probably more aptly titled Independence Day. The bastardization of the actual holiday isn?t limited to its common name but the actual meaning behind the holiday has been lost. I resisted commenting on the state of American patriotism yesterday mainly out of respect for the holiday and because while the reaction to the holiday is distasteful it is also 1% patriotic. On any given 4th of July you could approach any American and ask them what the holiday stands for and their simple and concise answer would be: Independence Day. But do most Americans realize what Independence Day truly stood for in the past? The day marks the most radical of ideas and one of the most influential documents that has ever been written was signed into law on July 4th, 1776. The Declaration of Independence, at the time, was an effort of at creating a new and pure government built on the ideas of individual freedoms and liberties tha ...

Constructive Graffiti
2007-07-05 14:38:00
I know the image above isn't necessarily graffiti but the message was too good to pass up. Plus July 4th has come and gone so people can't call me unpatriotic for having an independent thought about current US actions in the Middle East!I saw this image and it got me thinking about Operation Arrowhead Ripper. In case you weren't aware a little over a week ago the US government began a new and more lethal attempt at driving out militant factions in the Middle East by way of creating battles in residential neighborhoods where they believed "terrorists" to be hiding as well as the occasional bomb in villages, causing last weeks civilian death toll to reach 250. Operation Arrowhead Ripper is a stupid name. What would you rename it? ...

Remember when Sex and the City ended because of the horse-faced Sarah Jessica Parker? Her reasons behind pulling the plug on the mega-hit series was so that she could spend more time with her son. After 94 episodes she killed the series to be with her pod-child, so let us take a look at what kind of break she took (via IMDB.com):Slammer (2008) (in production) .... Maggie RayA Family Affair (2008) (announced) Smart People (2007) (post-production) .... JanetSpinning Into Butter (2007) (post-production) .... Peggy Callas7 movies filmed in three years, plus one announced. So today's news that Sex and the City: The Movie will be made makes for 9 movies, so far, since the end of the series. Not much is known about the movie but all four ladies have signed on. Sarah, admit it, you made a mistak ...

Every major tabloid is reporting that Xtina is prego today. Um, didn't we already know that? I think Motiveless Crime actually stated that a week or so ago. This isn't even yesterday's news, its last week's.Ok, I will give it up to the tabloids that have finally made it public that the emaciated skeleton known as Nicole Richie (why is she famous?) is prego as well. Apparently her tattoo and eyeliner boyfriend Joel Madden of Good Charlotte put the bun in the oven. Hopefully he knows how to hold Nicole down so he can force feed her. Remember Joel, tilt her head up, insert food and rub her throat. That is how I get my dog to take his pills.Al Gore's son was pulled over for driving over 100 mph in Orange County, CA and then arrested on "suspicion" (how is it suspicion when its evidence?) of drug possession. This is not his first arrest for marijuana possession but this time he apparently had Valium, Xanax, Vicodin and Adderall on him or in the car. Either homeboy has some addiction pr ...

Constructive Graffiti
2007-07-03 17:57:00
After perusing the internet today it became clear that many British citizens believe this supposed terrorist plot is just a way of validating the Big Brother state that they currently are controlled by. Take into account the many cameras and sounds horns throughout the city that have been qualified because they have been used to ID the men who planted the Mercedes in front of the Tiger Tiger club. Because of that I post this Constructive Graffiti for today, which comes to us from Hackney, London:I also came upon this lovely statement that was posted in Downtown Nashville, nearly four years ago: In case you can't quite make out the statement:In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.--George OrwellMotiveless Crime is on the rise. ...

Lindsay Lohan turned 21 yesterday and had a party at some beach house in Malibu. No, she didn't crack and smoke crack. She didn't even have a drink. Damn, I was really anticipating an ER visit complete with stomach pump. Instead all we had was Calum Best (who invited him?) and Lindsay playing with a telephoto camera. What was she taking pictures of? Paparazzi.Katherine Heigl is filming some movie in NYC and played with an iPhone while on the set. For some reason I never imagined her being a smoker. She also made a few phone calls, but not on the iPhone...which she studied as if it were a Rubik's cube. The hair color is a big no.I used to have a huge crush on Scarlett Johansson. Then I saw this photo. Apparently she is now sporting a bull-nose-ring-thing. Not to mention the way she is dressed. Where did pretty and glamorous Scarlett go? Where did the perfect butt that ran all around in The Island go? Come back to me...Last week I posted a video of John Stamos stumbling around on an ...

Motiveless Crime is on an upswing (to put it mildly). The site has grown in readership in a very dramatic way recently, which hopefully is a sign that the content provided here is hitting a mark with people across the world. So far I have avoided posting the site on social networking sites such as Digg and Del.icio.us because I really wanted the site to prove itself first. Today it did just that. Soon social bookmarking sites will be integrated into the site but will be removed if they prove to not be useful.Earlier when MC was still in development we used AdSense to try and gain a profit. When you spend all day working on a site and its content, you have to hope that it will someday turn a profit. AdSense, a Google creating, has since been removed because after a large number of page impressions it appeared that Google wasn't giving any credit to the site. Therefore Motiveless Crime is currently completely devoid of advertisements or paid posts. This may not always be the case but fo ...

Motiveless Crime News Headlines

Most of my readers will begin to notice that information regarding the 2008 Presidential Election is being omitted from Motiveless Crime News Headlines. This is because of the new segment that will cover the election. For information on the election and candidates, check the Motiveless Crime Presidential Election '08 coverage.Virgin media to consider saleVirgin Media, the major media conglomerate has been offered a substantial sum by a private equity group to buy out its stock (for a rumored $33-35 per share). Currently the empire that is a result of numerous mergers cannot state what company is offering a reported $11 billion because terms of the buyout require secrecy concerning the buyout offer and any other stipulations attached. The company is considering sale due to reporting its seventh consecutive quarterly loss.Al Qaeda car bombs Yemen, 9 deadInitial reports have it that 7 dead Spanish tourists and two Yemenis have been killed due to a car bomb that officials are blaming on A ...

Ann Coulter is a Crazy Evil Demagogue
2007-07-02 19:23:00
I'll be honest and admit that I had never heard of this nutbag before until a few days ago. I don't tend to listen to Republican or conservative radio shows, TV spots or books mainly because of people like her. But when someone makes a stab at anyone and uses the term "faggot" as a punchline, they move into my vision and I'm prepared to take her down if I ever get face to face with the witch. So far she has called Bill Clinton gay, defended Mark Foley and stated recently that the widows of 9/11 are media whores. Here is just a glimpse of the madness:These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arazzis... These self-obsessed women seemed genuinely unaware that 9/11 was an attack on our nation and acted as if the terrorist attacks happened only to them... I?ve never seen people enjoying their husbands? deaths so much. --Godless: The Church of Liberalism June 2006She has also gone after Al Gore as ...

Constructive Graffiti
2007-07-02 16:24:00
Motiveless Crime, in its infancy, started a segment called Constructive Graffiti that was meant to make political statements via street tagging. The segment was somewhat abandoned until an email was received asking if it could be revived. Considering how easy it is to post an image of political graffiti a day, it has therefore been exhumed and revived. To start things off I wanted to post a visual statement that 50%, if not more, of Americans could get behind.Even Neil Young agrees:Motiveless Crime is on the rise. ...

A few news articles caught my attention today that really don't belong in the full on Headline release that will come out later today. In fact more than one of these articles straddles the line between news and things that belong in Guilty Pleasures. Curious gadget fans smash, dissect iPhonesHow long did it take Apple to create the second coming? Apparently the iconic "Jesus Phone" (aka iPhone) took a mere six months to create...and only a few seconds to break. After Friday's release, enthusiasts and competitors alike immediately began disassembling the $600 phone. Pictures began surfacing almost immediately of what makes the iPhone tick. Why would one do this? To learn how Apple has cornered the market. Enthusiasts just want the knowledge, competitors want the technology. Competitors for the iPod, Mac and iPhone have been confounded for years as to how Apple manages to create their products mostly because they keep a tight leash on the suppliers of each tiny part. Some people began ...

Guilty Pleasures
2007-07-02 13:07:00
Some of you may be relieved to see Guilty Pleasures returning. The past few days haven't exactly been appropriate for celebrity gossip, plus all the normal gossip sites seemed to have screeched to a halt. In fact I normally use two or three sources for all of my news but today my normal outlets weren't providing anything of interest so I'm linking to some new sites. Perhaps new blood is just what we need.Jessica Biel is not a plastic bag. Well, she may not be one but she has all the personality of one. The bag is latest thing to sweep the Hollywood fad followers. I like the environmental message but hate that it's simply a ploy to get attention.Eva Longoria is on vacation and wearing a bathing suit that belongs on the worst-dressed list. Not to mention the extreme cameltoe (don't ask me to post that picture). You know its a slow news day when Sarah Michelle Gellar somehow reappears on a red carpet. She looks like she has been using the same "stylist" (yuck) as Victoria Beckham. Lot ...

This video clip has made its way around the internet a lot lately concerning the release of the Queen B (for bitch) from jail. You may or may not have seen it, either way, it's what I'm leading with.Mika Brzezinski, if you ever read this, you are my hero.I've been toying with the idea of posting a few reviews of software that I use. To be honest I have a lot of really interesting add-ons and Windows manipulating software that I think the rest of the world would benefit from. First off I want to teach my readers how to block ads and the like in Firefox. If you don't use Firefox then most of the software I intend to write about won't be of use to you.Tonight I was directed to a new French program that pretty much shocked and amazed me. I won't mention the name yet considering I'm still testing it to make sure it really works but it truly is a new way of looking at computer security.Tomorrow Motiveless Crime will return to its regular segments. It appears that weekends aren't exac ...

Motiveless Crime Presidential Election '08
2007-07-01 20:55:00
To start the new segment off right we have to put the 2008 United States Presidential Race into perspective. What makes this election different? Who is running, so far? It is also imperative that we present the entire scope, from electoral votes per state to the tentative time line of events to come. Basics are what makes an election possible, so making an informed decision must also be built upon them.Fast Facts:The 2008 Presidential Election will be the 55th consecutive election in US history. The election will determine the 44th President of the United States of America. In order to win the election the candidates must win 270 electoral votes which are distributed based on the 2000 Census. A map of the electoral distribution is show on the right. The 2008 election will be the first election since 1928 where an incumbent isn't running (either VP or President). It has been estimated that the total expenses incurred for the race will be roughly $1 billion dollars.Analysts agree that for a ...
