Lollipop Commercial on Philippine TV
2007-11-01 07:23:00
Chupa Chups on TV Chupa Chups seems to be the first lollipop to have a commercial in big Philippine television network. Lately, I saw their TV commercial in GMA7. Chupa Chups is founded in 1958. Its headquarters is in Barcelona, Spain. In the 1970s the Chupa Chups lollipops appeared in South East Asian nations like Singapore and Malaysia. In the 1980s it expanded to the European and American markets, and in the 1990s to most Asian countries and the Australian market. The company has 2000 employees. It has revenue of €500 million in 2003. Honestly, its hard for me to recall if there is a Chupa Chups brand of lollipop in our province (Palawan) during my younger years. I am not a big fan of candies therefore I seldom purchased a lollipop. When I first saw the Chupa Chups logo on TV commercial it looks familiar to me. However, I am not sure if I already seen or tasted a Chupa Chups lollipops before. It took days-weeks-month before I figured out that I a ...

Search Engine optimization or manipulation
2007-10-27 10:16:00
Internet related marketing services are a growing outsourcing trend in low-cost labor countries like in China, India, and the Philippines. It is evident in a number of jobs available in Search Engine Optimization companies -traffic analysis § Internet marketing specialist – They might be the one responsible for my e-mail spams! § Blog writer - The articles from your favorite travel site might come from some proxy blog authors. § Horoscope writer – Your grandma’s daily horoscope might only be written by some teenager part-timer. § Researcher – They are responsible for gathering e-mail and phone contacts from the internet. These contacts will be used by outbound call center agents to disturb you. Companies involved in internet marketing services are accompanied in web analytics manipulation. However, it is not only the rankings that their clients are paying for; it is their capacity to help their clients to generate money. If you are an investor, you might consider putt ...

Flesch-Kincaid Score The Flesch/Flesch-Kincaid Readability Tests are readability tests designed to indicate how difficult a reading passage is to understand. There are two tests, the Flesch Reading Ease, and the Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level. Although they supposedly use the same measures, just placed into a different scale, the results of the two tests do not always correlate (a text with a better score on the Reading Ease test over another text may end up with a worse score on the Grade Level test). Both these systems were devised by Rodulf Flesch.Microsoft and Flesch-Kincaid ScoreMicrosoft purchased the Flesch/Flesch-Kincaid Grade test formula. The Microsoft Word can help us analyze the readability of our document. All we need to do is:1. Go to TOOLS, then select OPTIONS2. Go to Spelling and Grammar Tab. Click the radio box SHOW READABILITY STATISTICS. Then, click OK. Every time we finished writing article in MS Word click the SPELLING AND GRAMMAR. Then when we are finished spell and gra ...
My High School Poem
2007-08-19 15:16:00
It was almost 8 years that I am living alone, away from my parents. It is still clear in my mind the time I left my family and friends in exchange of studying in other place. Honestly, I only have a small group of close friends in Palawan. They are my high school classmates: Jeffrey, Shaney, Feremy, Nickie, and Ralph. It was being years since I left my room in our province. However, my parents seem to be preserving it. They didn’t allow anyone to use that room except if it is really necessary. Years and years had passed. I graduated from college. I work in Makati. Then, my family feels that I am not going back. Yes, I am constantly visiting them. However, they knew that I’m not going back to stay there permanently. My parents already gave my books, toys, collections, and other stuffs that they believe would be useful to others. They remodeled my room. It looks different during my last last visit. I am also a little bit surprised that nobody is still using it. It only serves as a ...
Change of Strategy
2007-08-17 04:13:00
Last month, I am searching for schools in UK. Honestly I am planning to study CIMA in London. I already took some Accounting courses here in the country. I will just retake those subjects in London. I need to do that to make things easier. I have already coordinated with my supposed to be school in Middlesex. I have already consulted my college economics classmate who is currently working and studying CIMA in London. My parents had already agree that they will somehow shoulder my expenses. However, it seems like I am not yet ready to leave next year. I will temporarily forget the plan! Do I need to have more preparations? Do I want to leave my current company? Am I already bored here in the country? Am I not excited to face the adventures in UK? Is better if I will study in Australia in which I have a relative? Am I not excited to learn and perfect my English? Do I have a future in London? After a few years, are my sponsors still have money or are they still willing to fin ...
American Name/Nickname
2007-08-16 01:25:00
Three “J” New Yorkers visited the Philippines. They are Josh, Jeff, and John. Josh. He is cool. He loves gadgets. This guy gave us a demon virtual pet like tamagotchi wherein we need to take care and feed every week. His favorite topic is about good sources. Jeff. He is a simple but powerful. He is serious most of the time. He gave us a speech about future plans. His favorite topic is about specialization. John. He is aggressive. He is a traveler. This guy always gave a 10 questions seat work. His favorite topic is about quality. Do Americans usually have a name that starts with letter J? Do male Americans usually have a one syllable nickname such as Rick, Dave, Josh, Jeff, and John? And do female Americans usually have a two syllable name such as Susan, Nicole, and Tanya? I don’t know. Let's consult the Freakonomics! Note: In understanding Filipino names, the essay of Matthew Sutherland is the best resource. Check his short essay “A Rhose by Any Other ...
Mobile phone update
2007-08-15 01:20:00
I love my i600 phone. I’m already used to it. Typing is now easy. The camera and music player is quite good. It has many applications. Its Windows mobile OS allows me to store MS word, power point, and PDF files in my phone. As of now, I haven’t purchase a 2GB SD memory card yet, so I can’t really utilize the MP3. Connecting to a WiFi signal is fast. However, internet browsing is slow. Why? It is simply because the phone needs to convert the internet pages into mobile browser format. The processor is also a bit slow. Remember that it is not a PC. So far, opening Yahoo! e-mail, blog hopping, and key word searching is fine. Except in viewing the Google spreadsheet wherein I can’t properly view my data. By the way, I read the CD manual and I’m surprised that there are few instructions there on how to set-up the GPRS settings of Smart and Globe networks. It gives me a feeling that the phone is really prepared for Filipinos.P1. Last month, July 2007, SonyEricson P1 i ...
