Just Launched Another Website - MyStyleDump
2007-06-09 12:53:23
I talked about MyStyleDump before in my earlier post. It has to do with free templates for free/paid php scripts. When I plan on starting a website, I usually use a free script like wordpress for this blog, phproxy for my proxy sites etc. If you go around searching for templates or themes for any of the scripts, lot of junk shows up. Designs not worth a second look are all over the place and I always felt that in order for me to really find the template I want, I have to create it!
I am not a designer, coder or have a clue about any of the elements involved with making a website. I am basically a code arranger, master of copy paste and have an eye for good design. So for me it made all the sense in the world to do something about this urge. That’s how I decided to launch MyStyleDump.
Because of MyStyleDump, I got so involved with the whole design thing that I made few designs myself. Don’t ask me how I did it, but I did it! One of the templates for Zelune Proxy Script is no ...

1979 Islamic Revolution of Iran
2007-06-06 05:39:03
In the centuries leading to the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Iran was ruled by a series of Shahs that were brought to power through their highly influential families. Iran’s transformation from a monarchy headed by Raza Shah Pehlavi to an Islamic theocracy headed by Ayatollah Khomeini was a result of series of events that occurred between January 1978 and February 1979. After its 1909 constitutional revolution, Iran had become trapped in a state of constant turmoil involving many different segments of society. There was a tipping point when people who were heading a move to reform the country decided that the only way Iran would achieve a total reform is through an Islamic revolution, as it was believed that Iran has deviated from the path of Islam. As with every revolution, there were causes that united people to fight, forces that participated and provided the leadership and an ultimate goal but what makes this revolution interesting is how it was brought about in such a short time ...

What was wrong with Shrek The Third
2007-06-02 13:31:52
I watched Shrek The Third right before my exams and was disappointed because this is the worst sequel i have seen in years. It didn’t have the shrek feel to it. The only thing nice about the movie was the mini shreks, other then that, the movie fails miserably.
The is no humor in the movie, the previous two movies had humor in abundance but not this one. Shrek 2 introduced new characters and we all loved Puss, this one introduced cindarella and sleeping beauty. That’s not really an introduction now is it? No new characters per say and a total predictable story.
Avoid watching it in theaters, wait for the dvd and make sure you join the kids in the end of the movie! ...

Characteristics of the Internet as it relates to Marketing
2007-06-01 17:00:05
In my marketing class, we had an entire chapter dealing with Internet. There are few trends and characteristics in marketing as well as general usage of the world wide web that deals with how consumers and users deal with Internet when it comes to the decision making process involving purchases and information gathering. Following are the few characteristics we discussed in class:
User control characteristic
-The customer determines both the direction and the flow of content in the website.
Internet culture characteristic
-Customers are reluctant to pay for content available on the web.
Graphic interface characteristic
-Customers use a combination of verbal and non-verbal cues to navigate through your site.
Information-rich environment characteristic
-It is possible to have too much information in a website.
-It is important to organize the information in your website in a way that aids navigation and avoids information overload.
Computer-mediated characteristic

My Upcoming Web Projects
2007-05-27 14:58:01
I have been doing a lot of thinking because this time I decided that I just can’t take blind risks and then hope for the website to kick off. I put some thought into and now I know exactly what to do with my new upcoming websites and what kind of a website it should be so that it makes me some $$$.
I talked about my proxy websites few days back and I am very glad that I made that move as its proven to be very profitable. I mean my earnings from AdSense have jumped from $3/day to around $12/day. Not to mention that I went through lot of hassle just to get the servers going and once that was done the websites were instant hits. So four proxies and one proxy directory. I will probably expand to four more proxies because going for more thant four would be getting another server which costs around $49/Month and doing it at a slow time as schools will soon end as summer closes in but I want to be ready for September so four more should do it for the time being.
I really want to sta ...

Bye Bye Spring 2007
2007-05-26 12:56:29
Okie so on Thursday I had my last final, DS 110… it went amazingly well, my first when it comes to anything MATH. This semester was I think the longest of all, obviously it was the regular semester but it felt like forever…. so much is happening around me….
Last week, because of medicine that I have been taking left and right, I felt very lazy througout the week. Coffee doesn’t cut it for me and neither does Full Throttle, Rockstar, Redline, Redbull etc…. so the result is the picture below:
Here is the story: I just had coffee like 20 minutes before this pic. I decided to study with Hassan who was also taking the Marketing final with me. We were doing practice test and I had this sudden urge for mini nap. We were in the Humanities building sitting on the floor. Don’t ask me why we went there… well… it’s amazingly clean and new! Look at the floor, squeaky clean! So while Hassan did his practice test, I took a 15 minute nap. He took ...

Installed WP-EMail 2.10 Plugin by GaMerZ
2007-05-18 23:36:52
I was already using WP-EMail on JokesKafe and decided why not also use it on this blog. This plugin helps you recommed a post/article to a friend with just a click of a mouse. The code for this plugin is written by Lester ‘GaMerZ’ Chan.
For all the information on this plugin, check out WP-EMail 2.10 Read Me
This plugin is very easy to install, literally bug free (I haven’t found any) and works like a charm. One other cool feature is that it displays most emailed posts on the sidebar with a modification of a tiny code into the template. Check out my sidebar to find out what I mean.
You have an option when modifying the theme to put the code for “Email this post” anywhere on the index.php and single.php (your template might require you to modify other files too like page.php or post.php). Be creative, the idea is to make sure that the link is visible.
Download WP-EMail 2.10 ...

28 Weeks Later Is Real GOOD
2007-05-17 22:40:21
When I first saw 28 Days Later, I really liked it even though the movie had nothing new to offer in the terms of story line, just a modern day zombie flick that falls in the category of Resident Evil (which I am a big fan of). 28 weeks later is also very good in terms of what the movie offers. I am not a big fan of sequels as most of them tend to sway from the original.
I really liked the photography, cinematography and direction of the movie. Makeup was also exceptional and would gross out any straight headed human being. Lot of blood so stay away if you can’t handle gore.
I recommend watching this one, critics have hailed it, so go and find out why…. ...

Western Thinkers on Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H)
2007-05-17 14:22:31
By brother forwarded me the following message and asked me to post it on my blog, it’s an interesting read:
It is rather unfortunate that the Christian West instead of sincerely trying to understand the phenomenal success of Islam has considered it a rival religion. During centuries of crusades this trend gained much force and impetus and a huge amount of literature was produced to tarnish the image of Islam.
Truth needs no advocate to plead on its behalf, but the prolonged and malicious propaganda on Islam has created confusion even in the minds of some free and objective thinkers. However, Islam has begun to unfold it genuineness to the modern scholars whose bold and objective observation on Islam belie all the changes leveled against it by so-called unbiased Orientalists.
The following are some observations on the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) by well acknowledged non-Muslims Western scholars and thinkers of modern times which we hope would contribute to initiate on objective eval ...

You can watch movies online on Netflix
2007-05-15 21:41:48
I didn’t know that as a subscriber to Netflix, I can now watch movies online. They should have at least tried sending me an email to tell me about this but I guess they didn’t. Movies are not that new though, I watched True Lies and the Negotiator, old movies but good movies.
You can’t really watch all the movies 24/7. There is a time limit, the amount you pay for your subscription is the time you have to watch movies online. I think I am on their $13 plan, which means 13 hours of online movies for a month. I don’t think I will ever watch that many hours of movies online because of their medieval movie collection in their online movie database.
One more thing about Netflix, I always wondered why they don?t show all the new releases when you check out their new releases page, maybe coz every one wants new releases as soon as they are released? I have to check out Hollywood store to find out what?s release so then I can search.
I don’t care what their rea ...

Burj al-Taqa, the Energy Tower of Dubai
2007-05-15 00:04:13
This is another one of Dubai’s never ending streak for innovating ideas that combine science and fiction. Still in the making, Burj al-Taqa (energy tower) will be completely self reliant and will run off the grid. Which means, it will create its own electricity. This tower will have a unique 197 foot diameter wind tower on its roof and arrays of solar cells totalling 161,459 square feet.
