Unnecessarily Hard to Buy Toys
2007-12-04 15:05:36
There have been a massive amount of recalls on all kinds of toys lately. For example, the lead paint in several toys, including the Thomas the Tank Engine toys. I had to throw away all of my sons trains because of it. He misses them badly, but I’m afraid to buy him any more because I don’t know if the ones sitting at B&N are lead soaked or not. But he wants them. And it breaks my heart to know that I can’t buy them without worrying about his safety.
Now I have one more thing to worry about before I buy toys for him or even my niece. They’re (whether they know or not I don’t care) hiding date rape drugs in toys now. How sick can people get? And there have been instances where men have used bought them to give to women!! What the hell is going on? Why aren’t these companies being shut down, or having their products replaced with safe, untainted ones? I guess the gov’t would like to spend their money on better things like useless politics, ho ...

November Earnings Report
2007-12-01 12:13:45
Amanda has been posting her monthly earnings report on this site for a couple of months and I thought I’d finally share my own for once. I was afraid to at first because I did not want to drive away traffic, but I thought, eh, what the hell. Maybe they want to hear how much the site owner is making instead.
So, how much money do I make? And how much is sucked up by my rent? We’ll, I shall tell you. (more…)

Peppermint Pattie Giveaway
2007-11-29 22:00:09
It’s time for the first giveaway.
We all love to pamper ourselves once in a while. And we always feel so much better afterwards. So the nice people at Klean Bath & Body have allowed me to choose one lucky recipient for their Peppermint Pattie Pedi Kit. A very nifty pedicure kit. This kit contains some of their current products, featuring the following:
Devil Made Me Do It chocolate sugar polish
Peppermint Dream Whipped Shea Body Butter
Peppermint Bath Syrup
Peppermint Dream KLEAN Mist
It also comes with a pumice stone or paddle, scrub brush, toe seperators and a pair of nifty socks to put on after you finish giving your feet that wonderful spa treatment they so truely deserve. Doesn’t that sound too cool? We all need one of these!
So How Do I Participate?
Well, this one’s for the ladies, being a pedicure kit and all, but if the men want to give it a shot for their wives or girlfriends, by all means participate. So if you do want a chance to win, all you have to ...

The 4 Books Battle - Battle Two
2007-11-28 10:59:35
It’s time for another battle! Here’s four new books off my shelf for you to check out.
Guide to Blogging w/Moxie Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Dynamic duo Joelle Reeder and Katherine Scoleri put you on the fast track to creating your own blog, polishing your prose, accessorizing with podcasts and photos and that’s just for starters! You’ll find chats with famous female bloggers, tips on how to promote your blog, and loads of information on the geeky basics for beginners all wrapped in hip dialogue.
This was actually a really good book. I really only skimmed through it, but I picked up on the good parts, and I learned a few things that I did not know I could do while blogging and owning a website.
WordPress for Dummies Rating: 3 out of 5 stars
Whether you want to keep family and friends updated on your latest adventures, post pictures of your new puppy, or communicate your passion with millions of readers worldwide, WordPress for Dummies is your passport to c ...

I guess I said screw it
2007-11-24 00:27:20
NaNoWriMo is almost over and I haven’t gotten any writing done. The baby has taken all my attention and I just can’t bring myself to sit down long enough to concentrate on it. I knew this was going to happen, but I tried anyway. So sorry NaNo gods. Maybe next year? I’ll be sure to take notes all year too. Haha. One bit here, one bit there. Watch me have an entire notebook of shit and it turns out to be the whole story in a giant swishy mess.
“Swishy? WTF?”
Oh well. We’ll see what happens next year. Hope my brother-in-law isn’t too disappointed about not getting a book to read in December.

Need A Little Simplicity
2007-11-18 23:46:30
Is it just me, or is this site getting a bit cluttered? Yea, I thought so. I’ve been surfing the ‘net looking for inspiration of some kind for a new theme. Or format maybe. I want something simple. There have been a few sites that I visit often that have gotten some make overs and I’m a little jealous. Heh. I guess I have been to eager to jump onto the “magazine style” bandwagon. I actually have a design sitting in front of me that I love to death, but it’s getting to complicated for me. I may finish it and offer it up for download. Who knows.
But I want to make something nice for this site. Moxie and EWebScapes make some pretty nice layouts and themes, but god knows I’d have sell a kidney to afford anything from them. And I could very possibly come up with something just as nice if I had any kind of creativity or inspiration at all. I guess it’s a dry spell for me. I don’t know. If I try hard enough, I could probably come up with ...

New Family Member Coming
2007-11-12 23:15:38
“Omg! You’re pregnant?!”
No, not me. My sister is though. She just found out a couple of weeks ago. She told me she is almost two months now. I told her, only seven more to go! She keeps bugging me to send her all of my son’s old clothes and toys, but to be honest, it’s all in storage or in a goodwill store somewhere. She’ll have to get her own baby clothes and toys somehow. She also keeps telling me doesn’t feel good. I tell her it’s part of the process. But she’ll get through it.
When I found out she was pregnant, it did make me a bit jealous. We have been talking about having our second (and last) child at some point. Possibly when Mini Buff starts school. That way I’m not driven mad by two screaming boys. Why do I say boys? Because I am completely convinced, and so is my mother, that it’s what is going to happen. My husband thinks we’ll have a girl because his brother’s first child was a girl. But his o ...

Be Grateful for your Babies
2007-11-07 08:27:41
Having our son has been a wake up call for us. Then again, I wouldn’t really call it a wake up call because we weren’t all that bad off before. But it has caused us to grow up a little more. We’re no longer spending money on all kinds of useless things. It is a little disappointing because I miss it, but I have saved a lot of money by not buying anime. And we’ve saved a hell of a lot more due to my husband not being able to spend thousands of dollars on his jeep. It’s been great. We’ve been able to afford so much more, even with the rent, car bills, and diaper costs (no we’re not potty trained yet).
And Mini Buff makes me smile a lot, maybe too much. Even when I really don’t want to or if I am not in the mood. For example, when I’m crying or sad, he’ll come sit next to me, put his arm around me and say “Alright?” and kiss me on the cheek. It’s the sweetest thing. It makes me so happy that he’s old enou ...
