Packing Up
2007-12-08 14:36:00
J and I are sending a box of stuff to the Philippines for Christmas since we are not coming for visit this year. It is our gift to our families back home in Manila. I still have to buy more things so we can fill up the minimum fifteen kilos that the forwarding company here require if you intend to send something to the Philippines. That's a lot you knoe, considering that we are just thinking of giving something generic to our folks. Anyway, I am looking for a decent sized box right now to put all of the stuff that we are sending. If I can't find one, maybe we will just use some makeshift ones with the aid of box cutters. I hope the parcel doesn't fall apart! ...
New Look
2007-12-07 17:18:00
I'm sure you noticed the new template I've adopted this time. Yes, I've been changing themes for God knows how many times because I just got tired of the dark look that my previous template was exuding. I think this new one is quite refreshing and even J likes it so I think I'll be sticking with this for now. I stress on the 'for now' phrase lest I change my mind (again!) in the coming months. :P ...
Anniversary Plans
2007-12-07 16:56:00
Our second year anniversary is coming up soon. It is our church wedding anniversary to be more specific as we were married twice in the Philippines. J suggested to staying overnight at a hotel in the city to make it a bit special. If not for our little girl, we would have probably gone out of town or out of the country and maybe booked ourselves a room at a Vegas hotel. Gosh, that could have been fun. But, life is different now as there are more things to be considered. ...
Feast 171

AppetizerWhat was the last game you purchased? The last video game we purchased was The Sims 2. The last board game we bought was Monopoly. They were all purchased last year. SoupName something in which you don’t believe.I don’t believe that men are superior to women. One complements the other. Each has its strengths and weaknesses.SaladIf you could choose a celebrity to be your boss, who would you pick?Maybe Oprah Winfrey. I think she is very generous and has a very big heart.Main CourseWhat was a lesson you had to learn the hard way?I’ve had not so good relationships before with the opposite sex. I got my heart broken several times. I had to learn to love myself first before expecting others to love me back.DessertDescribe your idea of the perfect relaxation room.It could be in a house on the hills or in a beach house with a balcony and a view to die for, large windows that you can open to let the cool breeze in, and of course, there would be lots of places to lounge on — a la ...
Bet your bottom dollar!
2007-12-05 17:48:00
There's a lot of sport betting going on here in Australia as most of the people here enjoy playing and watching sports. So going into any form of betting is sure to be part of the enjoyment. Any form of gambling is not really my sort of thing though. But if you are one of those people who are into it, you might want to check out Bet365.com because I am sure you'll find all you need over there in their site. Their wide range of online facilities are something to look into if you are in search of good quality and secure service. ...
Time flies
2007-12-05 17:44:00
Can you believe that it is already Thursday? It is almost the weekend once again! I am not in any way dismayed by the way because I always look forward to the weekends as it's our chance as a family to go out and do other things that are not home-related.Plus, J says we might do a little Christmas shopping already for some of our friends here in the ACT. That actually put a smile to my face because you know how much of a shopaholic I am. :) ...
Thinking of Tickets
2007-12-03 21:30:00
I am still drawing up our gift list for this Christmas. I cannot seem to get down to it and seriously finish it. It is because am still undecided on a few things as to what to get my brothers for this December. One thing I am considering are world series tickets since they love sports so much. I am sure they are going to have a blast watching major league baseball live. And I know where the best source of tickets for major events like this.TicketsNow.com provides a very safe and easy venue to purchase tickets online. I am sure I can get the best deal out there and I am sure I won't be disappointed because they are never sold out. ...
Food Hunt
2007-12-03 21:23:00
We were invited to a Christmas lunch with other members of our extended family here in the ACT. It's potluck as it is always the practice here and we were assigned to bring dessert.I am thinking of bringing my ever reliable blueberry cheesecake. But I also want to bring something that the group have never tried before so I am contemplating on baking a carrot cake as well. My mom suggested to just bring rice cakes (or biko in Filipino) because it is very easy to make. She even sent me the recipe for it.I am still undecided. I better make a decision soon so I can test cook it first here at home. ...
TV Tag
2007-12-03 21:15:00
Got this from Joy.1. What was your favourite TV show as a child/teen?Of course, they were mainly cartoons. I loved Disney cartoons the most!2. Do you watch any specialty TV networks?Yes I do. When I was in Manila, I liked to watch the Lifestyle Network all the time. We don't have cable TV anymore but I still watch cooking and make-over shows regularly.3. If you think about the percentages of TV you watch currently, what ranks at the highest? Why?Mostly it's between Oprah, Ellen and the cooking shows. Cartoons are not yet a regular for Erin. She enjoys commercials more so I don't have to put up a fight (yet) for the remote control.4. Is there a television personality that you cannot stand, and why? There's this host on BHG who cooks. I just get irritated with her lisp. :P5. What is your guilty TV pleasure?Maybe Heroes, because I always stay up to watch it no matter what.6. HDTV: Do you have it? why or why not?Nope. Well, not yet. Our TVs are still doing fine.7. Cable: Yes or no? “h ...
For the bubs
2007-12-02 21:10:00
The Christmas season is just an excuse for us shopaholics to go on shopping! Yes, it is also shopping season and I cannot wait to go out into the malls and be done with my gift list for friends and family. What I am more excited about is getting the little bubs their nice pressies for the big day. I am thinking of getting them personalized baby gifts so that they will be receiving something unique and one that they can truly call their own as it will be made especially for them. I'll make sure to check out The Nest Baby Shop for stuff like these. I am sure the little kiddies will just love what we'll be getting them. :) ...
Spinning Spammers
2007-12-02 21:07:00
Argh! As if there weren't enough plagiarists in the world! Fellow bloggers, be forewarned. If you haven't read the news about it yet, then for your own blog's sake, please do. Here's an excerpt of Lorelle's article on the latest form of site scraping.Jonathan calls them “Spinning Spammers”, and they are using Plugins and utilities for synonymized scraping of your blog. In Business
2007-12-02 20:55:00
Now, we're in business. It is already mid-day and it's only now that I was able to grab some opportunities. Sheesh. Times are hard these days. You never know what the future brings. I guess I just got lucky to have stumbled across these opps. I am praying to get a few more as the day progresses but I am not keeping my hopes up, lest I be disappointed once again. ...
Not so cool problem
2007-12-02 20:40:00
There's not so good news with our old Camry. J went to an auto mechanic shop last week and had our car evaluated because he had been noticing some leakage for quite some time now. It turns out our Toyota Radiator is not in good condition and needs replacement as soon as possible. That's another thing to jot down on our monthly expenses!I am glad though that Radiator.com is there to offer good quality radiators that we can look into. They are an online source for radiators and cooling components and you can get them at the lowest possible price. They even deliver to your door step so you all you really need to pay for is the labor charge that the automechanic asks of you. No more middleman fees to think about. I better check it out because we might be able to save a substantial amount for the repair. ...
My Greatest Fear as a Mom
2007-12-02 20:38:00
There's a blog carnival initiated by MommaStuff.com and I am so glad to have been chosen to take part in it. Their first question is: What is your Greatest Fear as a Mom? And my answer is...Losing your child/children. Ever since Erin came into our lives, I cannot imagine our life anymore without her. She is our world now as she is the most precious thing that God has ever given us.Short and sweet, eh? Sorry, Nice, if the post is overdue. I promise to make it up next time. :)For all the other mommies out there who'd like to take part in this tag, feel free to do so.
