Sick (yet again)!
2008-01-10 15:00:00
Oh dear, I think I am going to be sick again. The past few nights haven't been easy, being quite uncomfortably hot which makes it very difficult for the little girl to sleep peacefully. Of course, that translates to me having to wake up every time she wakes up and complain of her discomfort. The dry, itchy & sore throat is somewhat back. I was starting to feel it last night and it is still here today. Plus, I've been sniffing since yesterday. Argh! We really do need to get a decent cooler if that's the only way we can all sleep. Otherwise, I won't be able to get off this yo-yo of illnesses until the weather improves. ...
Flower Power
2008-01-06 17:56:00
In our wedding in 2005, I had fallen in love with calla lilies and had wanted to use them for all our floral arrangements then. But our florist then advised us that they were going to cost an arm, so we did not push through with it.Had I known of FiftyFlowers.com then, I would have bought those wholesale calla lilies from them instead. I could have saved 75% of all our flower costs! They even do wedding flower packages, which means that they make arrangements for every person on your bridal party. Now we know better. Next time we walk down the aisle to renew our vows, I will make sure to consider them when canvassing for flower suppliers. ...

I have got to prove this meme wrong. I really do want to keep my resoultions for this year. They're something I have been wanting to work on for years and now is about the time to do it. ...

Still on Gifts
2008-01-04 18:57:00
Speaking of gifts for family members, J and I will be sending some stuff back home in the Philippines. It's our way of saying 'Merry Christmas! Wish we were there. Here's a box of goodies instead!'The box is almost filled and most of the contents are food. I have not yet thought of a personal gift for my mom though. I'm torn between sending her a new bag or a beautiful set of gemstone jewelry. Well, whatever it is, I hope we can send the parcel soon while everyone is still feeling a bit Christmas-y, even if it is already January. ...

Clean Up Time
2008-01-04 18:21:00
Gosh, I can't believe how much of a mess our home is right now. It's the aftermath of the holiday season and every nook and cranny seem to hold something that is a remnant of that month. It is time to do some organizing and cleaning once again. Our carpet also is in desperate need of vacuuming. Fortunately, we were able to purchase the best vacuum that we think is out in the market. In fact, it is for commercial use so it is heavy duty and reliable. Alright, enough rambling for now. I better get a move on it. ...
Better Late Than Never
2008-01-04 18:16:00
My second batch of retail madness arrived the other day. I was hoping it would be delivered before the new year but, with all the holiday rush, it's arrival date got delayed. I am just glad it is finally here because I was able to give j his second Christmas gift that I bought from the States. He was very surprised but definitely over the moon about his brand new pair of navy Sperry's. The long wait was worth it after all. :) ...
The Year That Was
2008-01-04 07:05:00
I got this tag from Jean. Here are my reflections for 2007. Feel free to tag yourself on this. :)1.) WHAT DID YOU DO IN 2007 THAT YOU’D NEVER DONE BEFORE?Become a mother to our daughter, Erin Chloe. And joined the paid posting bandwagon. :D2.) DID YOU KEEP YOUR NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS AND WILL YOU MAKE MORE FOR NEXT YEAR?I didn't make any new year's resolution then. Maybe this year I will. Need to work on a lot of things.3.) DID ANYONE CLOSE TO YOU GIVE BIRTH?Yes! My good friend Lam, my brother-in-law's wife R, and our kumare J.4.) DID ANYONE CLOSE TO YOU DIE?Not really close to me, but more like close to our family. He was the brother-in-law of my maternal grandfather.5.) WHAT COUNTRIES AND CITIES DID YOU VISIT?Oh dear, not much! It's just Manila and Sydney. After giving birth to Erin in March last year, we've pretty much been stuck in the ACT.6.) WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE IN 2008 THAT YOU LACKED IN 2007?Since we are going home to the Philippines in May, definitely more time ...
Shameless Plug
2008-01-03 16:54:00
It is no secret that my brother-in-law is an artist by profession. Recently he has entered one of his works so that it may be featured in the Painters for Human Rights 2008 Calendar. The good news is that he was one of the few talented artists chosen to be included in the said calendar. We are sooo proud of him! :)© Frederick EpistolaHis work, Master Without A Disciple, represented the month of December and revolved around Human Right 30 which states the following:Nobody can take away these rights and freedoms from us."Nothing in this Declaration may be interpreted as implying for any State, group or person any right to engage in any activity or to perform any act aimed at the destruction of any of the rights and freedoms set forth herein."All proceeds made from the sale of this calendar will be donated to charity. ...
The Benefits of Technology
2007-12-30 20:19:00
You have got to thank whoever invented fiber optic cables. Because of these things, we are able to communicate with practically anyone in the world who has a telephone line or an internet connection. Take me for example. I have been missing my family back in Manila because of the Christmas celebration. Thank God for high-speed internet, I am able to talk to them via chat almost everyday of the week. We also use the webcam during our chats so we can see each other online. We've certainly gone a long way in terms of how our communication system works. Now, aren't we the lucky ones? ...
Not My Kind of Holiday
2007-12-30 16:24:00
I just realised one thing. I don't really like how Christmas is celebrated here. Maybe I am just sourgraping because we weren't able to spend it with our families and friends back home in the Philippines. But it is truth, at least based on our standards.Christmas here was nothing remarkable. I maintain that nothing still beats being with your immediate family during this season. And inspite of that fact, I am as lazy as ever to get back into the daily grind. But the opportunities are beckoning me, so I do what I can. It would be a waste just to let them pass me by. Deadlines are coming up soon so I better hurry up, now that I'm (sort of) on a roll. ...
Wish granted!
2007-12-30 16:10:00
The major stocktake sales are on here in Oz and yes, true to his word, J finally granted several items on my wishlist. The grandest one of all was a laptop! We were able to get it at a very good price considering its awesome features which makes it just the bomb! It's a beaut and I can't take my eyes off it. I love it to bits, which explains why I spend so much time on it. J might have to use plasma cutting to pry me away from it. In fact, he too is a bit envious about it and said that he'd also like to get one for himself. But that's another story. I must think of a name for it. Any suggestions? :) ...
Back But Sick
2007-12-30 15:56:00
What a way to spend the holidays, eh? Yes, I am sick. The sudden changes in temperature has affected our lives in more ways than one -- we're miserable with the extremely warm weather and the little girl and I are down with the colds. It looks like it won't be clearing up in time for the parties we have to attend tomorrow. Absolute bummer, as it's no fun socializing with your friends when you can hardly speak up and are trying to hold back those sneezes every once in a while. Plus, a sick baby is bound to be irritable and crying, which just about spoils the party mood. Well, let's hope a miracle befalls us and things will get better, just in time for tomorrow's lunch get-together with friends. Cross your fingers (and toes!) for us please. ...
Latest Celeb News

I have always been a follower of celebrity news and gossip. For some reason, I find that they make great entertainment for housewives like me. I am sure I am not the only one who is into this as well. I have never bought any of those gossip magazines but I do watch TV shows and read articles on the internet about today's famous stars.Yuddy.com "Celebrity News and Gossip" is just one of the sites that I go to for the latest buzz. They also have hundreds of biographies of your favorite celebrities which you can browse thourgh. Yes, that is where I get my instant fix and daily dose of star news and I am good to go. ...
