Peace Haven Park
2007-08-12 07:44:01
Second Life Peace Haven Park; ????
Peace Haven is such nice name. There are many places with the name Peace Haven. I have a blog name Peace Haven. I do not know that there were many websites with this name Peace Haven. The only time where I know that there are many Peace Haven places exist in this world is when I was watching the news some time ago, I have forgotten when. I remembered watching the news saying that Peace Haven Hospital, in China. Little did I know that there is a Peace Haven in Second Life too. I was searching for Peaceful Gardens in Second Life and I found Peace Haven Park.
Peace Haven Park is located at Vestal, it is a PG land. In Second Life, there are PG land and Matured land. According to the description of land at Peace Haven Park, it is a peaceful park retreat, to explore, relax, party with friends, or bring that special someone there! It is a big park, with an area of 32016 square metres.
Upon arrival at Peace Haven Park, the first thing w ...

Ghost or Spirit?
2007-08-08 21:29:30
It was a terrible night for me. I did not sleep well. I went to bed at around 1.45am. Was tired, but not able to sleep. I have not had insomnia for quite a while. But last night was really bad. I do not know if it has anything to do with what I had written last night.
I had written about Cebest again and this time, I had put up his death photographs on YouTube. Is it okay to do that? I do not know. But somehow sometimes I am scared that I might lost the photographs since it is stored in my scan disk. What if it is lost and I will not have anymore backups. If I had put it up at YouTube, I can get to see it myself anytime. So finally, I had enough courage to put it up.
My Dog, Cebest, Rest In Peace
It was not really easy easy to put all my emotions into writing. I tried to hold back my tears as well, while I was writing. When I was doing the videos, it was still okay, because I do not need to ‘think’ of it. However, when words need to be added to it, and when ...

History of Singapore
2007-08-07 21:29:31
Today school function half day. It is National Day Celebration. Clara wore red shirts with her normal uniform skirt. Ricsson wore his PE attire. The children were so happy and excited about it. They went to school at 7am and came back at 1030am. They were so happy, waving the Singapore flag and singing the National Day Songs.
Talking about National Day, how well do you know about the History of Singapore? I am very poor in my History. I am very good at Science and Mathematics. I can be the highest in class for Science, Maths and arts. But when it comes to History, I am the lowest in Class. I have no interest in History. For me I find history very boring. Why study something which happened so long ago? Maybe it is interesting to know, but when it comes to exam, I hate to remember dates and names of people.
To know the History of Singapore, QiHua Primary School has done a very good job at it. At QiHua Primary School, this National Education Gallery Corner has what Singapore is al ...

World of Laughs
2007-08-05 10:31:22
I am definitely not leading a balanced life. My emotions are not balanced and this is a major cause of diseases. Everyday I have so much resentment and anger arises from parenting issues as well as housekeeping issues. I am not surprised that my health is deteriorating. I am spending more time working than relaxing. I have hardly any time for laughs. Luckily there is World of Laughs, the channel 8 show at 8pm on every Monday evening. The most funny and hilarious person in the show which I always look forward to is the old woman, Lao Zha Bo.Just got to know recently that she did not write the blog herself. She don’t speak good Mandarin nor English. But so what! She is being frank and whoever behind writing, this is honesty. As what some people claim she is disgusting, I don’t think so. Who are we to comment on people’s look and behaviour? No human is perfect. The pot is always calling the kettle black, almost everywhere we have politics as such. Just got very tire ...

Lion City
2007-08-04 10:42:54
Singapore, the Lion City, is just a very small dot in the world map. It is such a small country and it is so nice to know that you can actually find your own country, Singapore in Second Life as well. Alvin Loo, Alvin Korvin the creator of the sim, Lion City has created Lion City in Second Life. It is definitely a job very well done. When I first sign up for Second Life, I do not know that there were any Singaporean around. Seeing these in Second Life is really something very great. Not only can it shows people who have never seen Singapore before, it also allows Singapore Second Life player to have a ‘home’ where can belong, as well as to feel ‘homely’. It is a great place to know fellow Singaporean too.
The picture above shows Suntec City, and the water fountain at the centre is the fountain of wealth. What a great feature to represent Singapore in Second Life. There are many other things like shophouses, the Merlion, coffee shop and so o ...

Pastamania
2007-08-02 20:33:18
Went to Pastamania on Monday for dinner. Ricsson loves Spaghetti. Among the various places and restaurants, he still likes spaghetti from Pastamania and Ikea. At Pastamania, he always likes to eat Vongole and Chicken Bolognese. But nowadays, he seldom eat Vongole because they had changed the ‘la la’ (clams) to another species, which we found not tasty and they are not fresh at all. The price had went up a lot. From the previous year of $5.50, a plate of Chicken bolognese now cost $6.60 including GST. Even the void deck seafood restaurant whom I had always ordered my food, had their price increased lately. From $3.00 for a pack of ‘Zhi Zha’(stir-fried) Hokkien Mee, the current price of all the ‘Zhi Zha’ noodles now cost $3.50. Everything up by $0.50. This means that for four person in the family, we had to pay at least $2.00 every meal. Singapore Food is just getting more expensive.
At Pastamania, we always order Chicken Bolognese, soup ...

Singapore Shop Houses
2007-08-02 11:18:22
Today I blog about shop houses. Shop houses are very rare in Singapore now. There are not many shop houses in Singapore. The picture above is taken from Lion City and it is what Singapore shop houses would look like.
During my young days, those shops that I went to are mostly shop houses. These shop owners have their business downstairs and their families stayed upstairs. It is so convenient.
Looking at this picture, reminds me of olden days coffee shop in Singapore. Lion City is very well done. It is not fully completed yet, but it has some slices of Singapore. Looking at this particular spot of Lion City reminds me of those days where I used to go coffee shop with my father. This kind of place normally had bad odour coming from the side of the drain.
Most shops have upper deck which serves customers as well, especially for restaurants — just like those of Holland Village.
At Lion City, the upper deck is still vacant.
The texture is very good. The walls really loo ...

Some Clarification

Braunworth, Basilica Cardinale Cathedral
Received a comment from Cardinal. This is what he had written to me:
Hi Peacebella. This is Cardinal Sin from Second Life, the person who built the Basilica Cardinale in Braunworth. I just wanted to thank you for your glowing review; I’m very pleased you enjoyed the cathedral!
I just wanted to point out one small error, however, from this page: http://www.peacebella.com/2007/07/29/st-benedicts-monastery/
Just so we are clear, the St. Benedict build has no affiliation with my project; I’m not sure where the connection was made that the two builds were made by the same person or group, but it’s something I’d rather be clear on right away that these two places have no link whatsoever to each other.
Thanks again and have a great day.

St. Benedict’s Monastery is located at WildCat

Second Life Gargamel
2007-07-31 04:16:57
This is very funny. I chance upon Dolmere Talamasca’s blog again today. Again, really, I had no hard feeling towards him at all. Everything that has happened was just a voice over opinions and I think there is no right or wrong at all. Everyone has a right to choose what they want as long as you have a rigid support towards your decision.
Just as I had closed the window to Dolmere, I thought that I would like to let him know how I feel, just in case he does not know. I hate to leave comment, especially in blogs where you need to key in your name and email address. Dolmere had even ’suggested’ using false emails, but that is not me. My email address is not a secret. I don’t leave comment in everywhere that I go. I leave comment when I really feel that the blog is good, and really worth complimenting. Well, today for the first time, I leave my comment at Dolmere’s blog, not because I like his blog, but because of the way we got to know each other.
Leaving a ...

Something New
2007-07-30 08:46:53
Yesterday as well as Saturday was a bad day for me. For the first time after I had cycled from my house to the church, I felt terrible. I saw darkness and my heart hurt. I quickly sat down to rest at the kerb for some time. I have not had this kind of experience before. After that, my energy level was low. Nevertheless, the children went to classes and Richard and me went to Marsiling to eat breakfast. We do not go Woodgrove this time. We went to Woodlands Avenue 1, opposite Singapore American School. The chicken rice is very nice there. We always buy Chicken rice there. Every Saturday the children will eat the Chicken rice from the stall too. Today we tried some other food from the food court. I had no appetite. I walked around and decide to buy either duck porridge or noodle soup. I would want to eat Bee Hoon Soup, but they do not have. So in the end I ask for Duck Guo Tiao Soup. I ask for more bean sprouts. Richard ordered big prawns noodles. ...

St. Benedict’s Monastery
2007-07-29 10:37:29
You Are My Hiding Place (Part 1)
St. Benedict’s Monastery and Basilica Cardinale Cathedral at Braunworth belongs to the same holding. Both are beautiful. St. Benedict is much bigger, having an area of 16384 square metres and it takes me a very long time to tour from the starting point to the peak of the mountain. It took so many photos that I need two videos as shown above.
St. Benedict’s Monastery is located at WildCat. Upon arrival, there are some notecards for you to find out more about the Monastery. The place is such a beautiful place that for once, I thought I know what is paradise. It gives me a feeling that all the things are so beautiful and it is the power of God to make this world such a beautiful place. There were animals, plants and ponds, lakes and the oceans. I was alone when I reach the place. It seems so quiet and serene.
There were many flights of stairs leading from one place to another. As you walk along the path, I observed the beautiful ...

Second Life Casino
2007-07-28 11:18:23
To those people who loves to play online games and online gambling, the cessation of Second Life Casino would be a disappointment to them. To the regular customers who patronized Second Life Casino, they would have to seek new way of entertainment. The effects of Second Life Casinos can be classified into two categories of people — the business people and the consumers, the Second Life Residents. Effects of Second Life Casino Closure on Residents 1. Games Basically, people who log in to Second Life can be those people who just want to spend their time there to have some fun and relaxation after a day of work. For these people, the closure of Second Life Casino would not have so much effect on them. To people who just want to experience a taste of casino, it is not going to be possible in ...

Second Life Church
2007-07-26 10:58:49
This is SL Catholic Church, Palm Vegas Island at Palm Vegas Region. The church is rather small and it the surrounding consists of various commercial and residential building. The interior of the church does not look fantastic too. Nevertheless, I had taken some pictures of it as shown below.
It looks beautiful at the front view. However, upon landing at this place, I was quite turned off by its surrounding structures.
As you can see above, this is just one of the church which you can see at Second Life. There are a several churches in Second Life which I had come across, however, I have not met any church that is better than the one I had visited today — Basilica Cardinale Cathedral. At Basilica Cardinale Cathedral, you can also purchase all the religion supplies. At the Cathedral, you can even get free rosary.
This is a video consisting of pictures of Basilica Cardinale Cathedral at Braunworth.

You can see the above pictures of the church which I ...

Cooking Inspiration
2007-07-24 23:55:15
Yesterday my inspiration was all about cooking. I spent sometime cooking what I had wanted to eat — been craving for so long. Though they are not that difficult to cook, it all takes time to prepare. The picture above is lotus and gingko nuts dessert. I have added glutinous rice and dried longans in addition to lotus and gingko nuts. Clara loves to eat lotus. I love the fragrance of lotus soup. It was such a great satisfaction yesterday for having eaten my favourite vegetables with prawns and glutinous rice dessert. As you can see in my photos, my dining table is always laid with newspaper. That is part of increasing productivity and efficiency. It is also saving money. In the past, I used to buy table cloth, beautiful table cloth and table mat. However, after every meal, there is a lot of cleaning up to be done, even for the mat or table cloth. In a matter of time, all the mat and table cloth lost their beauty and they add more ‘work&rsqu ...
