The cause of my muscle ache.
2007-08-30 07:37:00
Yesterday, three guys caused quite a ruckus in Vista in the morning. Apparently, 2 of them were chasing this guy in coat all the way to IMU. Here's a video of what happened. If you can't YouTube for some reasons, there's an alternative link to this video here.Anyway, I have muscle ache now from running. I'm getting old, I guess. On a not-so-good note, I really do have the weirdest of luck when it comes to technology. Some of you would know that I had much trouble getting an internet line before this. The first company I applied for was Maxis Wireless Broadband.I had to:Go to KLCC (to apply).Wait 3 weeks. To find out that they lost my form.Call the customer service 10 times and each promising to call back but never did. They claimed to have found my form.Waited 2 weeks again.Maxis said they lost my form again. Made 8 more calls.Another operator claimed that I never submitted my form.Re-submitted my form.Application rejected because service does not cover Vista. So my neighbours must hav ...

Apple has come a long way...
2007-08-19 09:38:00
For the clueless people, Apple is now the manifestation of uber coolness and elegance in the digital world (BTW They are the ones who came up with iTunes too).Look what I've found on the net.. a 1976 ad by them.By the way, 1GB=1000MB=1000,000 kilobytes. The thumb drives we use these days are usually 128,256, or 512 MB.Those days, computer programs were not even kept in diskettes but in tapes, which have very, very small capacity.Apple's latest iMac released 2 weeks ago, featuring 2 GB RAM (contrast with 4kb RAM in the previous picture) and Duo/Quad Core Intel Processor. This is a nice catalogue of Apple's products over the years. ...

Getting lost, looking hot and finding a friend
2007-08-15 06:09:00
We were so lost looking for the Block B Guy - almost none of the buildings this side of UM were labeled alphabetically!3 girls were passing by so Teck Seng asked one of them for this elusive building (He's very pro at these)._____________________________________________________Teck Seng: 'scuse me, do you know where Block B of Fakulti Pendidikan is? Girl: Erm... I'm not quite sure. Mind drifts away. This girl looks familiar. Breeze of distant memories blew by. Maybe she's a blogger or something. Or maybe a friend that I haven't seen for long. Can't recall. Ah, so hot, I don't wanna generate heat in my brain already. She looks at me and then looks away. I don't think she knows me, therefore I must be mistaken. She must have thought that I'm weird and hot (literally - I was sweating all over) . Her two friends were still waiting. One's a Malay girl and another looks like... Lebanese, or something. Muhibbah trio :-) Girl: Actually this is the Sastera building... the Pendi ...

The last 3 days
2007-08-13 06:28:00
The past few days were pretty hectic for me. I could barely catch my breath. But I’m happy with what I’ve done. Led worship with Jacob in church service for the first time. I wouldn’t say that I was nervous. But I was definitely excited. Really proud of the team because many of the senior musicians were away and still the team worked well. They were sensitive to the flow of worship. That is something that I really appreciate in a worship band. Another person I’m proud of is Clarence, our stand-in drummer, who played hard despite of his arthritis and joint pain. Arthritis really hurts, by the way. Pastor Koshy also told me something which I'm gonna always remember. Yesterday, I went for prayer meet in church. I met this new girl in church named Wendy. She came that morning because she saw the cross on our church (and churches usually have services on Sunday mornings). Anyway, Wendy and I clicked quite well because I found out some things over breakfast: We are both a ...

Birthday Dunking
2007-08-10 21:19:00
One of the rituals that my friends follow religiously on birthdays is the cake dunking.CutieYang's cake tattooYours truly. How do we do it?First we poke a candle deep into the cake. Preferable at the creamiest part. Then the birthday boy has to retrieve the candle with his mouth. While he's doing so the rest of us will try to dunk his face into the cake, without being suspicious (which is pretty hard cos everyone knows that trick already). Here are some shots from Chii Yeat's birthday. And here's how we do it. (Warning: Violence involved)----------------Now playing: Jars of Clay - Love Song For a SaviourTags: Birthdays ...

Greebies: Music Management Softwares
2007-08-07 00:29:00
From today onwards, I'll feature bigaryine posts about personal computing (dictionary meaning: bigaryine - whenever Gary feels like it).Who should be interested?Beginners or anyone who's not as good as me (evil laughter).Hmmm, let me introduce a new term for you. Most of the things I will write about will be greebies.Greebies must abide by the following conditions:Must cost $0-$10Must be easy to doMust not cost palpitations to the userMust be fuss-freePreferably no registrations requiredMust not electrocute the userGenerally, greebies are good for you :-)Today I'll talk about music management softwares. One thing that I notice about most of my friends is that they tend to just use whatever that comes with their P.C. So in this case, most people will use Windows Media Player or Winamp. In all honesty, I do not like WMP at all (actually I don't like most of the things from Microsoft: Office, Hotmail, Internet Explorer, MSN...) It really beats me why a software giant like them are stil ...

Malaysian Studies is fun.
2007-08-06 01:15:00
Last week, my batch had this Cuti-cuti Malaysia Expo in my campus, promoting the various tourist destination of Malaysia. My group was in charge of the glorious state of Perak. So we spent the previous week coming up with infos and decorations for the booth. We made a humongous thingy (really can't give it a name) from wires and cardboard. It looks really nice from the front.(Again I would like to sincerely apologize to the Johor booth people behind ours. I'm from Johor too..).So anybody walking into campus should be greeted with the lovely aroma of Ipoh Old Town Coffee and cheerful smile of the kopi crew.Choon the Kong (second from left) is the main brain behind all these. That's our booth.Seng Seng was supposed to take our picture for this event but....some people just can't resist the cam-whoring temptation.Sarawak had quite an interesting booth. They had this blowpipe (sumpit) competition where you win a t-shirt if you're able to shoot any passer-bys with the poisonous darts. Y ...

Understatements of the year.
2007-08-04 10:52:00
"Damn pain ah, I tell you!"Liying"Total oral hell, man."Woon"It's really painful. Good luck!"Ju-on"I couldn't eat properly for 1 week, you know. I lost 5kgs"OliverDespite all the pre-warnings, I went ahead and got meself braces. It's not really painful after they put it on.But it's freaking suffering when I eat!You know how much we take things for granted until we miss them? Like how we neglect our little finger until we sustain a cut and found out that pinkies are essential for holding pen or playing guitar?Well, teeth are ESSENTIAL for chewing, tearing, articulating speech, and swallowing. That I know very well now.I tell you, for the first time in my life, eating porridge was a task.Yesterday, after having porridge at home, I went and meet my godparents - who brought me for dinner at a seafood place. Gulp. And today dinner with my church friends was at McDs.I shredded the pack of McNuggets - and swallowed.Ate a few sticks of fries. Passed the rest to Tien Ern.Total oral hell..iron ...

Transformers! (Yeah I know it's a bit late)
2007-07-30 20:38:00
I used to wonder when I was a kid, how all these robots would look like in "real life". I'm glad to say that friends and I were not disappointed that night (our mouth were opened bigger than Gua Niah).Watching Transformers was a childhood dream come true. I was so touched when I first saw Optimus Prime transforming. That sounds wrong.Anyway, most of the reviews on this movie were not favorable. As David pointed out, they were so anti-Michael Bay. I say movie critics will gladly endorse "beautiful Oscar" films like Pride and Prejudice and label entertaining films as sold-outs. All the more reasons not to read movie reviews next time. Hey, who cares if the Transformers were GM Motor vehicles or Hasbro's? As long as it entertains, I'm happy.Anyway, Transformers is the best movie in the last 5 years for me. Hehe, ok, I'm biased also. Well, you're reading a Transformers fan blog, so it's not really my fault, yeah?Anyway, I got this on the mail that day. What if Malaysian cars could tra ...

Evolution and depression
2007-07-27 21:05:00
So yesterday in CG, Jacob was talking about him and Ah Yap going to Tioman and how they suaku they were when they saw the mesmerizing scenery and how they were led to be in awe of the Creator. My mind then wandered off to the evolution vs creation debate and also my IMU cg's session on this topic.I'll make it clear that I'm a creationist. Even if evolution is true, I suppose I'll rather still be a creationist because being an evolutionist can be depressing. Why? Just think about what is going on in an evolutionist's mind when he (went through all the trouble and) witnesses a wonder of nature.Mount EverestBig Bang.AuroraBig Bang.Islands of Utila, HondurasBig Bang.Victoria FallsBang.Bang bang.Bang bang bang.See what I mean? Being a creationist at least gives a you a reason to be happy and thankful about something.Tags: Big Bang, Evolution, Nature ...
