Interesting ad
2008-02-07 19:26:00
Saw this ad this morning. It's about classes for children.Very interesting.I don't know what they mean by (1) but after reading the whole ad I conclude that they would probably be teaching Singlish (2), which is good if your child is gonna work in Singapore next time (probably selling hawker food). This centre's service is really comprehensive in the sense that they don't neglect the parent's psychological needs (refer 4) to overcome the initial shock after the "massive improvement" of their child's English standard.P/s:After flying to the ocean of life...who teaches you to swim in it?(Don't bother looking at the contacts.) ...

Antique Radio
2008-01-28 23:30:00
"Hello? Gary ah... I need your help to get rid of some rubbish ah. Some old electric stuff."My uncle called yesterday and I went over to my grandma's old flat to help out. Some of the "old electric stuff" that were suppose to be thrown away includes 2 tv sets, a vcr recorder and this:Ok it's not exactly in this condition... got this pix off a website."It's an old radio la... might be functioning... but who uses it nowadays?!"Quite true... it will look like a dinosaur next to Marsha (Even though Marsha can't play videos, she's still a great iPod.)It's a giant of a radio... Probably as big as a modern day hi-fi. The case and dials are made of wood! Instead of wire mesh, the speaker cover is made from fabric. I think the right dial is for tuning while the left one is for volume. At the back are some ports for this thingy called a magnetophone (what is that?) and other weird symbols, probably relics of forgotten technology. But I can't find anything that says FM radio. Does that mea ...
Gravity strikes
2008-01-08 00:58:00
After the surreal euphoria that follows the bane that is EOS5, I find myself dragged back down to earth with the strangling reality of VIVA results. Right now I'm typing this in the computer lab in my school waiting for the list to be out.Anyway, I haven't blogged in a while.Happy New Year!!!!!I remembered that day after OSPE on the 5th, when I wished Butt Alien and my batchmates Happy New Year. Seriously, counting down while keeping an eye on OSCE day after, suxxx big time. While everyone were in a jolly holiday mood, I was experiencing sleep deprivation and palpitations and also looking at bunch of half-naked guys in Seng's apartment. We had a nice batch dinner after exams though. ...
Transitions
2007-12-13 01:52:00
The draft for M205's Transitions convo mag. It's not the final draft. And the colors are different (my file was on CMYK).P/S: Those who're not on the cover, my deepest apologies. It's hard to include all 180 of us. Photos are sourced from other people and are not from my personal collection to avoid any form of bias. Christmas celebration in IMU today was great. Saw the Nativity scene by our lecturers and CSU sisters *grins* and Sister Joanne the "star" of the show.Saw Sarah (Ong), Thomas (Chew), Matthew (and Linda in Christmas tops) and Wen Hao. Christine... is not here. She must be having a quiet comeback. ...
Dinner and anatomy
2007-11-26 23:27:00
I've been wanting to put this picture up for some time. (Notice how discretely I was, trying to steal a shot)Pants with the A-word printed boldly at the sides. I think this wouldn't look out of place in a practical joke shop. I can imagine a thousand uses for clothings like this. For example, you can give it to that pain in the a** in the office that you hate so much. you're gonna have hemorrhoids removal surgery and so you wear those pants (with an arrow pointing towards "that area") to aid the surgeon and avoid any mix ups. you're attending the annual Butt Appreciation Club dinner and you wanna make an awesome fashion statement. Matching "parents with a cute toddler" apparel is not in my list. Perhaps this batch of clothings was manufactured in China (there's some han-yu on the sides) and was to be exported to some prank shops in US (Maybe the A-N-U-S stands for Act Naughty, United States. Something like a DKNY acronymn). Perhaps there was some controversy over China-manufacture ...

Over The Weekend
2007-11-19 18:48:00
It's been sometime since I last updated huh. The thing is I've cancelled my maxis broadband line because the line is so fabulously excellent.Over the weekend, I've learned an important lesson in anatomy. Do you know that your neck is a very important structure of your body?Besides the obvious fact that it is the main passage for your carotid arteries, jugular veins, trachea, oesophagus, spinal cord, thyroids... Your neck is profanely involved in the "keeping of your head". I used to think that you only need it to turn your head up, down, left and right. But now I know that it is also absurdly important when you make most of your movements like walking, getting out of bed, eating, brushing your teeth, and hailing a taxi on the way to the clinic. All this is achieved no doubt with the amazing proprioceptors and spinocerebellar tracts. And I've also found out that in a neck injury, you don't just feel a dull ache, but freaking annoyingly random and excruciatingly painful spasms will ...

Beware of who you get drunk with..
2007-10-02 07:28:00
Another risk of alcoholism (besides those already in the long list of pathologies like diabetes, liver cirrhosis, aspiration pneumonia etc etc) is that you actually will pass out in the presence of your great pals. And end up like this. Spiderdrunk, spiderdrunk, does whatever a spiderdrunk does. Can he swing from a web? No, he can't, he's drunk. Look out for spiderdrunk~For more alternatives, do visit NicoleKiss' blog. It's definitely worth your time. ...

Show and tell

Sim visited the other day. We formed a garage band on the spot. At least 5 people will want my neck for putting this up. (For some reason the GIF animation is not working in my browser. You gotta save and view it offline to see the rest of the pictures). And this is my latest creation. Thanks Fish+Yun for "modeling". And also thanks to Su-eon, Jo, Andy, ShuWinn and Amanda for their inputs. It wouldn't be possible without their help. Having designer friends rocks. And here's a tip on how to win RM2500. ...

God is not whatever
2007-09-11 05:18:00
Disclaimer: This is just a thought. No, I'm not referring to anyone in my life so stop guessing if it's you because the answer is no. I don't wish to be politically correct in the remainder of this post.Sometimes, people have a lot of "textbook answers" to many issues in life.If you can't make a decision and you just wanna see what happens, you say "Let's pray and let God decide".When you don't wanna worry about something (or just deny that you're worrying), you say "Aiya I just hand it to God la. It is His will." - And then go back to worrying again.Of course, there are people who genuinely mean what they say while others just spout out phrases without realizing.Living in God's will is not as easy as it sounds. It's more than just "Oh, whatever la I'll accept anything and then only I plan."You can carelessly make a decision and then say that you leave it up to God and when something goes wrong you ask Him why AND end up asking Him to show you what He wants you to learn from ...
