Coupons are great!
2007-07-04 06:55:00
I love getting a discount when shopping. Which is why I'm very annoyed that I'm cash strapped during the best yearly sales period in Australia. Grrr...No matter. I've found some coupons on this website for some great shopping deals. My favourite is the Petals deals. I usually buy gifts for friends and families online as many of them are overseas. Any discount would help my cash strapped situation! **Sponsored post**Synergylyn will be paid $5 ...

What is Tiffany compared to Cartier?
2007-07-01 04:38:00
I know I know. I'm a victim of blatant capitalism. I was once enamoured with Tiffany & Co. But that was before I saw the Love Bracelet by Cartier on CSI Miami. Apparently you need a special screwdriver to fasten the bracelet around the wrist of your loved one. Yes, yes. I know the whole implication of the guy slapping a sign of his ownership on the girl by "cuffing" her. Yaddi yaddi yadda. But I can't help it. It's too pretty.Tiffany & Co. didn't seem so shiny anymore after that. Damn CSI Miami. ...

Fake LV equivalent
2007-06-30 03:47:00
I've always had a principle against fake designer goods - if you can't afford it, don't overcompensate by buying the fake stuff. It's just very tacky. And unfortunately this tackiness is widespread in Singapore and Malaysia. *shudder*I can't remember the number of times I've seen ladies carrying LV bags on MRTs in Singapore. Excuse me for making generalisations. But I would simply assume they're fake. Never mind if they're Grade 1 (??) fakes. Why idiotic people will pay hundreds of dollars for them, just so they can carry FAKES, puzzles me to no end. But that's another matter altogether.Back to fake LVs on MRTs. This is my take on life. If you can afford a REAL LV bag, won't you be able to afford a car as well? 'Nuff said!!So imagine my horror when my Bert mentioned he would like to buy the Chrysler 300 series as his next car. GASP!! That's the vehicle equivalent of a fake LV. GASP GASP GASP! That just goes against every principle of my being! Chrysler 300 seriesLet me expl ...

Weather gone wild
2007-06-22 23:12:00
You could be forgiven for blaming Mother Nature for being pre-menstrual nowadays. New South Wales, after YEARS and YEARS of drought had two freak storms in succession. First they had no rain for ages. Then it seems like all the rain they were supposed to get in the past 5-6 years came down in two lots.A beached tanker - at the mercy of Mother Nature How can man compete with Mother Nature?Penang, still skittish after the December 2004 tsunami, was hit by a freak storm a few days ago.Perth, although not so severe, had it's coldest night in June ever. Many will point the finger at global warming. I do too. Perhaps it's time to wake up and smell the warming?Stubborn unbelievers will still tell you it's not happening. That global warming is just the current "it" phrase. Well, how much has to happen before you believe? Or more importantly how much has to happen before you ACT?Related posts:Stay in bed, save the worldThe environment wins!I was born too late into a world that doesn't careTr ...

Hong Kong, here I come!!!!
2007-06-17 03:31:00
The last time I went to Hong Kong I was 11. That was... too long ago. So I'm really really really really excited about going at the end of this year. Bert and I will be in Singapore in December for a friend's wedding. Then it'll be off to Hong Kong for 5 days for us. I'm planning on shopping shopping and more shopping. My credit card is going to get a real workout!Any ideas on where I should shop? Is it worth going to the outlets? Anywhere else I should go? I'm not interested in going to those temples. And I'm 50-50 about Disneyland. I've been to the Japan Disneyland and it's too freaky seeing Mickey speaking Japanese and bowing. I'm not sure if I could handle Mickey speaking Cantonese! We're thinking of staying in Royal Plaza Hotel in Mongkok. Apparently it's quite close to to the Mongkok train station (?). I'm excited about the shopping, Bert is excited about the flight! We have enough points from Krisflyer to upgrade to Business Class. Boys will be boys! ...

Fantastic Four - The wedding of the year!
2007-06-17 03:24:00
I've only seen the preview of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. But doesn't Jessica Alba look FANTASTIC as Susan Storm a.k.a Invisible Woman in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer? She radiates happiness and glows with love as she walks down the aisle in a simple satin strapless gown with a modern touch of a belt around the waist. Her face modestly half covered with a net veil which connects to a long sheer train flowing behind her as she walks.Need to steal Sue Storm's wedding ideas? Here are the iLoveThese ideas from Fantastic Four. Aisle DecorationSue Storm a.k.a. Invisible Woman's dress and bouquetSue Storm a.k.a. Bad IT week
2007-06-07 08:24:00
Oooo... I hate the IT department right now. They've just "migrated" us over to the "new" server and everything is stuffed. Internet is painfully slow. The worst thing is that Youtube is blocked and Blogger new post page will not load up properly! What happened to fast broadband internet? I mean Australia is a first world country right? Why can't we get cheap broadband? Cheap and fast should be the way! Instead of stuffing around the IT people should stop stuffing around and start looking for a broadband provider for us. Sigh. All work and no play makes Synergylyn a dull girl.********************************************************************************Sponsored post: Synergylyn will be paid $10. ...

I've made money from PPP!
2007-06-04 01:35:00
Wow. My 200th post! Woo hoo. Since my 100th post, I guess the most significant step I've taken in this blog is to actually get paid for blogging.I've joined Payperpost and interestingly they do blog marketing too. That is by joining their community, my blog is also visible to a global community of serious bloggers.Anyway, since I've joined them I've made slightly over $50! And it's US dollars too. I know it's not enough to make a living but, hey, I blog as a hobby and if it makes me some extra spending cash, why not?I love PPP because I get to choose the opportunities I want. Once I log in, I click on available opportunities and I choose from the list. Then I blog according to the instructions and 30 days later I get paid!I guess now my dream is to qualify for the big money opportunities. I mean what's better than making $50 or $100 to write a 100-200 word post??? Synergylyn will be paid $10 for this post. ...

Oh %(*#! Has it been two years already?
2007-06-03 02:35:00
I forgot that my second anniversary is tomorrow. Serious. I wouldn't even have thought about it if it weren't for mum who texted me wishing me a Happy 2nd Anniversary to me and The Bert. Geez.... I can't even remember my 2nd anniversary. It seems like just yesterday we celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary. What is going to happen when we reach our 50th! Haha.Well, why did we both forget our special day? I guess it is just another day for us. It's just another day that we enjoy each other's company. It's just another day that we laugh with each other. It's just another day that we thank God that we found each other. It's just another day. Because every day is special. Happy 2nd Anniversary, my vove. ...

Malaysia, where are you heading to now?
2007-06-01 03:48:00
I can't confess to knowing everything that's happening in Malaysia. All I get is snippets of news from Malaysian current affair blogs that I sometimes read in between tasks at work.WhoALSE sent me this letter written by Dr Syed Alwi from Singapore about the state of Malaysia, more particularly the Malaysian Malays. And I must say, he eloquently speaks about issues that I can't.I feel so scared for Malaysia right now. It appears to me that there is no equality left in Malaysia. Malaysia is now a country where religious convictions, more accurately Islamic convictions, govern its policies. There was a rumour that I heard about Malays urging Malay-run organisation to buy up expensive land in Penang and sell the land at a much lower cost only to Malays so that they can afford to live in these upper class areas. Is it just me or does this sound like the dumbest idea since the perpetual motion machine? Then lately I caught some glimpses of news about a woman trying to change her religion on ...

PayPerPost Direct
2007-06-01 03:07:00
PayPerPost launches PayPerPost Direct. What is PayPerPost Direct and how is it different from the normal pay per post service?PayPerPost Direct connects bloggers directly with advertisers who would like the bloggers to write about their products or websites etc. Think of PayPerPost Direct as the eBay for bloggers and their potential advertisers. My blog has been approved for PayPerPost Direct. And I think this is how it works. You put a little badge on your blog, not unlike the badge for the affiliate PayPerPost program. If an advertiser would like you to write about their product or website etc, they click on the badge which links them to you.The best thing is you get to specify your going price. If you think your blog is worth, say $20 for 50 words, you get to keep most of the earnings. PayPerPost Direct charges a 10% service fee, which already includes all Paypal and credit card fees. Let me tell you, 10% sounds very attractive. Other services like ReviewMe charges between 50-100% ma ...

Miss Universe and bull shit
2007-05-30 08:22:00
Ahhh... It's that time of the year to judge girls again. It's Miss Universe 2007 time!Alas, I was feeling quite crook that night they were televising the peagant so I didn't watch the telecast. It's that darn site visit to Gingin I tell you. I braved the wind and the rain. Not to mention all the bull shit I had to wade through. Literal bull shit. Sigh... At least I was tick-free. Not like the last time I went up north. High up in my 4WD See the bull shit I have to wade through???Anyway, Miss Japan won Miss Universe 2007!!! Finally, the Chinese-Asian beauties of the world are getting the recognition they deserve! Miss Korea was even in the top 5. Awesome.I know I've always said that Miss Universe 2004, Jen Hawkins from Australia, is my favourite Miss Universe. Why? Because she is absolutely gorgeous and the best-looking Miss Universe of all!!But I reckon Miss Universe 2007 comes a close second. I'm biased, I know. When will Miss Malaysia or Miss Singapore become Miss Universe? Prob ...

Star Wars turns 30!
2007-05-25 01:43:00
Like ME!!! Star Wars just turned 30 today. My favourite movie share the same birth month and year as me! Awesome. May the force be with you.On another note, I've sunk to possibly the lowest of lows. I dropped a piece of chocolate tart on the carpet. I picked it up, looked at it for a little while and used a piece of CLEAN tissue to wipe off the carpet fibres. Considered my options for a few more seconds. And I ate it. I can still feel the carpet fibres at the back of my throat.Yep. Such a disgrace I am. ...
