#27 - On the Job
2007-08-20 14:12:00
My Mom has worked as a legal secretary in a Law Firm for over a year now. She always talked about how nice her boss was, and today I guess she felt extra social. Because I woke up to my Mom pushing my shoulder, and telling me to get up. She wanted me to go to work with her to meet her great boss.I was very hesitant because last I went to work with my Dad in New York City it was extremely boring. (and long) In wanted to be kind though I took her up on the offer, and jumped into the car. When we got into the office I shook hands with the boss, and some of the other employees. I got asked a lot of questions and felt like I want being interrogated, but soon things settled down. After a while it was like a wasn't noticed. To my surprise it wasn't that bad, and I got through it fine. I was able to get on a computer, and play around with a few flash games.-------Did you do any random acts of kindness today? ...
Auto Insurance
2007-08-20 13:57:00
My family has 2 cars, and we all take very good car of them. I help car wash, touch up scratches, and vacuum the inside. It's a daily family activity. All this work can't protect the car from things like accident or big dents. This is where car insurance comes in; and Advantage Auto Quotes definitely offers you the best of the best insurance. Making sure your car is covered.Besides being kind and helping clean up the car, I also had to be kind (and patient) while my Mom and Dad went through the car buying process. They decided to buy a Ford Fusion and Toyota Highlander this time. While I listened to the car salesmen he was talking about their car insurance they offered, but my Dad declined because he knew Advantage Auto Quotes would take care of him and his car.Just remember when buying a car to check out Advantage Auto Quotes for the best possible insurance on your car, so when you make a mistake your car will be covered. ...
Blogvertise!
2007-08-19 12:59:00
One of my main goals for Random Acts of Kindness blog is to have it global. Make everyone aware of my site, so that each and every day their's thousands of people sharing their very own kind acts on my blog. To achieve this "greatness" if you will I need some income which might be used for advertising or a domain name. I plan to get some of that income from Blogvertise! It's like Pay-per-Post, but you don't have to endorse any products. You just make a post, and put the 3 link's that Blogvertise tells you to put in your post. Let's say I have a kind act that involves hot dogs; I would then use the word "hot dogs" and put a link on each word. It's that simple! So if you start to see random links in my posts know that it's from Blogvertise. Heck maybe even some of the links might be worth a shot to look at. Just wanted to let everyone know about this, and that I'm starting it.--------------My kind act today was waking up at 7:00 AM, so that I could go to 7:30 AM mass with my Dad, w ...
#26 - A Prayer
2007-08-18 22:01:00
My family picked the perfect day to go into the city. Since it was such a nice and beautiful day today (weather wise) my family (Mom, Dad, Brother, and Me) took the Path train down to the Trade Center Site. We were surprised to see a ton of firetrucks and a smoking building to our left. After looking at it for a couple of minutes we headed down to the sea port, and had dinner. Since it was an abandoned building we didn't think anything bad had happened.Once again, to our shocking surprise (and saddening one at that) the radio told us on our way home that two firefighters were critically injured then one firefighter broke an ankle. We soon found out again that both critically injured firefighters died.My act of kindness, taking the time to say a prayer to the deceased New York Cities Bravest. #25 - Something new in the World of Appreciation
2007-08-16 11:10:00
Mornings are probably the worst time for me to be kind. I'm barley awake, and very grouchy until a have a nice glass of ice cold orange juice and a slice of toast. (this is similar to parents needing their coffee) Today was different and new.Our cleaning lady who has cleaned our house since I was a baby came today. Usually I'm expecting it because my Mom tells me to wake up early, so I can be dressed and awake. (have my breakfast) This was not the case, and she ended up waking me up. (so she can clean my room) I was not grouchy though which was my kind act.I woke up and said something like can you excuse me, I have to get ready. Then I stayed out of her way by not going into any of the rooms or kitchens, so she could clean easier and faster. Last but not least when she was about to leave I said thank you for cleaning the house. This was out of the ordinary, but I wanted to make a statement to myself that being kind must happen at all times. (even when your not in the "mood" for it. ...
NEW TEMPLATE!
2007-08-15 19:06:00
I would like to thank Lemonade Designs for my brand new blogger template. It is in classic, but it was a sacrifice that I agreed to take because the template was so cool. She made it all on her own. What do you think of it? Comments, compliments, and criticism all accepted. Also, any breaks in the code that you notice will help too.As for the long break in posts, I was at a beach house for a week and couldn't get to the computers. Don't fear though, I'm back for a while and will get back to my normal routine of posting everyday. Maybe kindness prevail! ...
#24 - Cleaning Up
2007-08-07 19:56:00
P. A. Story -The first day I was their I just played Xbox with my brother. We started playing one of our first games, and we were really far. (It was Need for Speed Underground: 2) Then my grandma yells down that she needs our help. Before I had motivation to be kind I would just moan, and continue to play, but I'm different now. That was my kind act.Basically I did a lot of cleaning up in the down stair rooms. My brother and I moved furniture, and took out the old smelly matrices. (believe it our not they're pretty heavy) Once they were outside we moved them to the junk pile which is on the other side of the property. After the rooms were pretty much empty I vacuumed the room.It was a lot of work, but I felt good because I helped my grandma. She would of never been able to do it by herself. (I didn't get paid, but in a way it was like I earned my stay for the weekend at her house)--------Did you do any random acts of kindness? ...
#23 - Helping in the Garage
2007-08-06 16:39:00
P.A. Story -Besides my grandma and grandpa having their second home in P.A. my great Uncle and some cousins live there. One of the things I did for half a day was help my Uncle fix up the garage. What we did was replace old rusting steel beams in the ceiling. With him getting older I was a big help because I cut down his work load. Since he's on a big lift he has to get up and down to get things he's forgot to bring up. I eliminated climbing up and down the ladder because I fetched him things that he needed like masks, gloves, wrenches, and screw drivers. Not to mention I swept up the floor and dragged away the old rusted beams to the junk pile.It wasn't the most fun thing to do, but I did get to use the blow torch once. Better to be kind and helpful then sit at the house and watch T.V. with my older brother.-----Did you do any random acts of kindness today? ...
I'm Back!
2007-08-06 16:30:00
I'd just like to let everyones know I'm back from my grandma's house in Pennsylvania. It was fun going down to the lake house and riding on the boat, water tubing, and driving the tractor. They live in a town called Clifford by Scranton with an old house, and an acre of land. The next few kind acts will be things that happened in P.A.While I was gone I was awarded Inspirational Blogger Award by Skittles. A big thanks to her; I will be putting it in my sidebar. I guess this is a good time to share the places you've been this summer. ...

#22 - Borrowing Things
2007-08-01 11:52:00
Throughout my whole childhood I have been hesitant about letting people borrow things. When I was 5 I never let kids use my toys including my brother. At older like 10 I never let my friends borrow a video game they liked. I just felt like it would get broken or lost.Today I believe I broke out of that shell because I let my Mom borrow my laptop for a slide show at a party. This is a big step for me due to the fact that my laptop is like my baby, but I think I've gained enough trust for my own Mom.This is kind because it allowed my Mom to easily move the slide show around instead of hauling the desktop around on a cart with wires dragging behind.Since this is kind of a short and choppy post I want to enroll another aspect into it... Things you treasure. Basically post what object you treasure most, and why/if theirs a story behind. On top of that you can do the usual kind act. ...
#21 - A Little Help Here!
2007-07-31 08:23:00
The most dreaded fact of living in my house with my Mom, Dad, and brother is that I don't have an allowance. This is always my excuse of not helping around the house a lot. My parents say just ask us for money when you need it, but they don't understand it's different. You feel likes it's not your hard earned money. With this said, my act of kindness for today and all the other days to come is to help around the house a bit more. Here's my list of things I've completed in the morning alone that I normally would of done.- Made my bed.- Cooked breakfast for me and my Mom.- Cleaned up the dishes (quick rinse, pop in the dish washer)I believe she took note of this, and maybe just maybe she will start an allowance. Though that's not my main goal, it's just to feel good that's I'm doing stuff around the house.------------------Did you do any random acts of kindness today? ...
#20 - A Teens Version of Torture
2007-07-29 19:05:00
Today was probably one of the most boring days of my life. The day before was really fun. I had all my cousins over and we played volleyball and swam in the pool. Plus two of them slept over, and we stayed up late to watch movies and play video games. All the normal stuff; then today came and the world came crashing down.We were going to stay at my Grandma's house and go to the Simpson's Movie, while all the women in the family (aunt, mom, and grandma) went to a bridal shower. It just so happened the movie got canceled, the tv broke, and it was pouring outside. The situation now was stay inside with no tv with an 85 year-old grandpa and 3 others boys. How can I possible to something kind in this situation? I myself was miserable, and everyone one else was whining their heads off. I decided to change that (my kind act), and rally up the board games. We played Uno and Monopoly. It wasn't exactly fun, but it was ok.--------------Did you do any random acts of kindness today, and do you h ...
