Optimism the way to good health
2007-12-02 08:53:00
I was a little down recently about certain blog matter. Nevertheless, I read about this little article on optimism related to improving health and I wanted to share these tips with you folks. Some suggestions for Being More Optimistic:*When you find yourself thinking that you won't enjoy something or you won't succeed in some project, reject the thought. Focus on the positive.*Deal with the situations that you can control; try to accept those you cannot.Yes, this is what I will do now. I will focus on what I CAN do and not fret over what I can't control. What I can do is continue blogging and source out good stuff for my friends and visitors here. No need to sulk over things that I can't control like ranks and stats.*Try to enjoy your work. Regardless of your job, look for aspects that you find satisfying.I like blogging and networking through meme and forums. I am enjoying myself. I get to write what I like and that is good too.*Look for friends who view life positively.I do try. ...

Guide to getting rid of termites infestations
2007-12-02 07:50:00
Anyone that has ever encountered termite problems before could feel the pain of loss and the trouble it caused to get rid of them. Termites or white ants usually feed on dead plant material, generally in the form of wood, leaf litter, or soil, can cause serious structural damage to buildings, crops or plantation forests.Although it takes for a while for the damage to be noticed, once a colony exist in your property, it will decrease in value and possibly difficult to find prospective buyers if at all. How can you tell if your house or property has been infested with a termite colony? Look for signs of swarming of winged forms in fall and spring and evidence of tunneling in wood. If the wooden structural members looked darkening or blistering, that might be another indication of an infestation. Typically the damaged wood area will be thin and easily punctured with a knife or screwdriver. However, the inspection is better left to professionals as termites are hard to kill. There are vario ...

Killing Me Softly
2007-11-29 22:05:00
Not sure why I am starting this post with Roberta Flack's Killing Me Softly. Perhaps what I am going to write next is sentimental and mushy.I was 16 and he was 17. Just like any other teenager, I wanted to know how it feels like to have someone special. I guess I was not really ready for any long term relationship at that time. The supposedly whirlwind of a romance only lasted less than a year. He wanted to get physical too fast and too soon and I am just not ready for THAT kind of a relationship.I have to admit that I was the one who call the relationship off as I was not feeling comfortable anymore with his advances. How did he take the break up? Not good, I would say. He called me at unearthly hours drunk, it seems according to his friends! Surely there is a more amiable way to do this? If only I had known about writing a dear john letter then, things might not have gotten so messy.I didn't get back into another relationship after that. My next relationship resulted in a happy mar ...

At The End of the Day, We're Only Human...

Click to participate1. Do you think as humans, we'd be better off *without* feelings? Why/why not?Humans without feelings will not be humans. We will be robots or machines. That is why we feel for movies like Edward Scissorhands and Bicentennial Man 2. So, you have a bad day at work. You put up with the day and then you go home. What do you do to relax and prepare for another work day? Rest with a cup of coffee ( I seldom drink tea), put on some instrumental soft music, take a warm bath and go to bed. 3. Do you worry about the big things (work, finances, tests) or the little things (broken cars, the house not being clean, a tear in your shirt)? Why? Both, I guess. When things are not working as it should, it causes stress and anxiety whether big or small. ...

Vacation rentals
2007-11-29 19:42:00
Winter is here to many living in the Northern Hemisphere of our globe. While those living in tropical countries may gasp with awe at seeing snow on trees and buildings, the fact of the matter is winter is not an easy season to live through. Many would rather go to sunny beaches with the tropical palm trees at the backdrop and sunbathing on the beach at this time of the year.Did I say beaches? Well, you can find some popular beaches at the Miami Beach, Florida and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in the U.S.A. But what about accommodations? With the concept of timesharing where vacation rental by owner is practiced, the use and costs of running the resort or condominiums are shared among the owners. By extension of this, some owners are also letting out their beautiful condominiums, villas, luxury townhouses, cottages, cabins and islands to the public for a certain period of time. You can check out these amazing Myrtle Beach vacation rentals and Miami Beach vacation rentals or believe it or ...

2007-11-29 07:19:00
I admit, I have a soft spot for wooden furniture. So when I saw this furniture store, I kind of went goo-goo-gaa-gaa over it. A Futile Pursuit
2007-11-29 05:07:00
On November 9, 1949, James Kidd, a 70-year-old copper miner, disappeared in the mountains of Arizona, U.S.A. Several years later, after he was declared legally dead, his pencil-written will was discovered, along with his investments worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. In his will Kidd stipulated that his money be used for research to find "some scientific proof of a soul of the human body which leaves at death."Soon afterward, over 100 purported researchers and scientists applied for the funds. There were months of court hearings and thousands of claims suggesting the existence of an invisible soul. Finally, the judge awarded the money to two reputable research organizations. Well over half a century later, those researchers have yet to produce "scientific proof of a soul of the human body which leaves at death."That was an excerpt that I had read recently. Well, my bible studies showed this to be true instead:Ecclesiastes 9:5,6,10 For the living are conscious that they will die; b ...
