Much To My Surprise
2008-04-24 21:00:00
A small change can make a big difference.A few months ago I saw a book on the Internet, "The One Minute Millionaire". The authors of this book were Mark Victor Hansen and Robert G. Allen. I knew of Mark Victor Hansen because of his involvement with the Chicken Soup for the Soul books. I was curious about what type of book this would be with Mark Victor Hansen as one of the authors. So I ordered the book. The weeks past and truly I had forgotten that I had ordered it. I arrived home from work and my husband said a package came for me. Upon opening the package I found the book, plus a CD. The book intrigued me. I started reading it and found it was unlike any book I had previously read. The book is actually two books in one. The left hand pages are theory and the right hand pages are a story. I started reading the book together, but the story got my attention. The story is one where you think nothing else could go wrong, but it does!! Every free minute I had I found myself wanting to read ...

A Mothers Love
2008-04-24 20:58:00
A little boy came up to his mother in the kitchen one evening while she was fixing supper, and handed her a piece of paper that he had been writing on. After his Mom dried her hands on an apron, she read it, and this is what it said:For cutting the grass: $5.00For cleaning up my room this week: $1.00For going to the store for you: $.50Baby-sitting my kid brother while you went shopping: $.25Taking out the garbage: $1.00For getting a good report card: $5.00For cleaning up and raking the yard: $2.00Total owed: $14.75Well, his mother looked at him standing there, and the boy could see the memories flashing through her mind. She picked up the pen, turned over the paper he'd written on, and this is what she wrote:For the nine months I carried you while you were growing inside me:No ChargeFor all the nights that I've sat up with you, doctored and prayed for you:No ChargeFor all the trying times, and all the tears that you've caused through the years:No ChargeFor all the nights that were f ...

The Gift of Friendship
2008-04-24 20:56:00
An Inspirational Story, Motivational Story -The Gift of Friendshipby: Jackie SagnerA few years back when my father was very ill in Nashville and I was living in Florida I learned the value of friendship.I learned that no one is a stranger when someone needs help.I was living In Orlando and my father lived in Nashville. He had a stroke and was gravely ill. I was a plane ride away but went up as often as possible. I did not make a lot of money at the time so I relied on credit cards to fly back and forth and to rent a car once in Nashville. This became expensive and my cards soon had large balances on them. I knew that I had to see him so I continued to charge whatever expenses were needed. My father did pass away and then there were funeral expenses as well and I did not know what to do. I received a knock on my door right before we were to leave for the funeral. It was a co-worker with an envelope. The office had banned together and taken a collection to help with the expenses. I could ...

Importance of Vacations
2008-04-24 20:22:00
Everyone seems to believe that vacations are good for our health. Is there really scientific proof that supports this thinking?Yes! A study published in the year 2000 in the medical journal Psychosomatic Medicine has shown that taking regular vacations is associated with a longer, healthier life. Vacations, along with sleep, exercise, and other leisure time activities, appear to be restorative and protective against the ill effects of psychological stress. Over 12,000 men enrolled in a heart health study were followed over nine years. The men who took vacations in most years were 20 percent less likely to die of any cause than those who forewent regular vacations. The vacationers were also 30 percent less likely to die of heart disease. The association of vacations and lower death rates held even after controlling for higher education and income (conditions that might make vacations more possible), and poor health (existing heart disease might prevent vacations). How does taking a vacat ...

Axiotron Modbook (Apple)
2008-04-24 20:12:00
Spec Data :Type: Media, TabletOperating System: Mac OS XProcessor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo T7500Processor Speed: 2.2 GHzRAM: 4 GBWeight: 5.4 lbScreen Size: 13.3 inchesScreen Size Type: widescreenGraphics Card: Intel GMA X3100Storage Capacity: 120 GBNetworking Options: 802.11nPrimary Optical Drive: Dual-Layer DVD+/-RWApple has long neglected the tablet community by not offering a tablet PC of its own. But now, another company has stepped into the breach with its take on a Mac-based tablet PC. The Axiotron Modbook ($2,629 list) is certain to pique the interest of Mac-based graphics designers and illustrators who prefer to work with a pen rather than a keyboard. Axiotron literally took an Apple MacBook 13-inch (Core 2 Duo), ripped off the lid, and fused a Wacom digitizer screen to the chassis. The Modbook is a slate tablet (rather than a convertible tablet that would have had the benefit of an integrated keyboard), but it's a better alternative to plugging a Wacom device into an Apple comp ...

Vista SP1 Released to Automatic Update
2008-04-23 20:18:00
Windows Vista customers can now receive the first service pack for the operating system via the Microsoft Automatic Update service, Microsoft said Wednesday.Windows Vista Service Pack 1 will download automatically to PCs that have the automatic update feature of the OS turned on, the company said. Previously, Vista was available to customers via Windows Update, but people had to specifically download it.Not all customers will receive SP1 immediately via Automatic Update, however. The company is distributing it in phases to "ensure a seamless download experience," Microsoft said. A timeline for when all customers would receive Vista SP1 via Automatic Update was not immediately available.SP1 is a rollout of software updates that fix bugs and glitches in Vista and is seen as a milestone that will inspire many customers -- especially those in the business market -- to adopt the OS. In fact, in a recent report, "Building the Business Case for Windows Vista," Forrester Research said more bus ...

Taking Advantage of Mac Freebie Tools
2008-04-23 20:12:00
what people do on a computer is look things up, mainly through Internet search engines and other online tools. You have help closer at hand - in the Applications folder. Some of the tools in the Applications folder are described in the following sections.DictionaryFinding the meaning of words or phrases is as simple as typing them in a search box. Finding the meaning of life is something else altogether. The Mac supplies versions of the New Oxford American Dictionary and Oxford American Writer's Thesaurus. The computer can even read a dictionary entry out loud.TextEditTextEdit is a freebie word processor. Although it offers nowhere near the flexibility of an industrial-strength word processor such as Microsoft Word, it's no slouch either. You can create tables and lists, and apply a bunch of formatting tricks. And it can accommodate Word documents (if someone sends you some). Truth is, most Word users exploit only a narrow subset of Word's features. Just remember that you already ha ...

Enabling the Security Features in Outlook 2007
2008-04-23 20:10:00
Although it isn't too likely that some hacker out there wants to steal your personal information for nefarious purposes, it may be wise to think about security when it comes to your Outlook 2007 email and personal information. If you work in a corporation, you may be required by law to maintain certain standards of security over the messages you send and receive.Outlook includes features that enable you to keep your secrets secret, to keep your identity secure, and to be sure that the messages you receive actually came from the people who seem to have sent them.In most cases, you need to add some small program to Outlook to enable these advanced security features, but after you install these features, you never have to fuss with them again.Getting a Digital IDSneaky hackers can send out email messages that appear to come from someone else. So how can you tell if the message actually came from the person who appears to have sent it? Of course, if you know the sender personally, you can ...

135 Degree Angle
2008-04-23 03:54:00
This bizarre house really doesn't have an official name, but it does have a 135 degree angle. So that's what we're going to call it. Unfortunately, the only info we have about this house is that it was built in China or Japan. And that it has a silly pink roof. And if you look real close, you'll notice that its on a 135 degree damn angle. ...

Here's a building that should really get your attention when walking pass it. The Dancing House is considered as one of the more real controversial buildings in Prague. The DH was actually designed by a great architect from California, which only proves that he had done some type of hallucinogen while designing it. ...
