As you all know, Kidlet and I saw Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street on Saturday night. I have been waiting months for this movie as you all know and it was worth the wait. It was fabulous. The cinematography was awesome. Just awesome. I admit I spent the first 5 minutes mentally going, "Holy Shit! Johnny Depp can sing!" but after that I did get over it and got totally into the characters. Helena Bonham Carter was good as Mrs Lovett, she was a bit breathy ala Marilyn in her singing but it worked well as she played the character with an Ophelia-esque air of madness. Angela played it much broader and seemed more of a scheming psycho than Helena's Mrs. Lovett, who was much softer and seemed ever so much more wrapped in a cocoon of madness.Depp was wonderful as Benjamin Barker, by turns funny and scary and ultimately terribly sad. Well today is Christmas in Stormyland. Ex Husband has small child for Christmas proper tomorrow so tonight we shall feast upon Roast Beast (prime rib) and the fixins at my mom's house. I got to work at 6 and I am taking my two breaks at 130 and my lunch at 2. Meaning I am gone at 130 ;0No major presents this year as I have mentioned we all opted out of the big commercial stuff. I did get kidlet a whopping 24 bucks worth of used CD's (Television- Marquee Moon, Gary Glitter -Best Of, and a Shudder To Think cd I can't remember the name of) and she bought presents for three of her friends. She made stuff for my mom, and her dad and her dad's GF. Paintings and they were mighty nice. I asked my mom for hangers. Cause I need them. And socks. Cause I need em. I live a hot life, don't I?!So it will be dine and watch movies today. I know she got Talladega Nights and a best of 2Pac cd from my mom, plus some stocking stuffers, and I have Holiday Inn and It's A Wonderful Life to watch as well ...
