Hollywood, Baby!
2007-11-22 23:16:00
How would you like a chance to go to Hollywood?! Okay, how about if you went on someone else's dime? That sounds like the chance of a life time to me. I have never been to Hollywood and I would LOVE to go, especially if AAMCO is paying for it. Right now you can enter their Drive Hard / Die Hard Hollywood promotion for your chance to do just that. It's as easy as clicking to the AAMCO site and entering in a few details and you're entered for a four day trip to Hollywood and a day with the Live Free or Die Hard movie stunt man. This is the guy that makes Bruce Willis look so tough! I've not seen this movie. It's available now on DVD.In addition to the chance to win this amazing trip to Hollywood, you will receive some great money saving coupons to use for your next visit to AAMCO. I know that just about anybody could use a free oil or transmission fluid change (with the purchase of a $50 service). My oil is a bit overdue for a change. So, I guess I'll be using this coupo ...

Happy Thanksgiving
2007-11-22 10:13:00
I have so many things in my life that I am thankful for, and as most of you can guess that I am most thankful for my family. I have a happy, healthy family and that in itself is quite an accomplishment. I love my husband with the depths of my soul and I can honestly say he loves me the same in return. We've been friends for so long now that I couldn't imagine my life without him (although these past couple of week's have given me a glimpse with him working out of town and I DON'T like it!!!). My children are healthy and beautiful (okay, maybe I'm a bit partial) and most of the time they are good kids. I have a great job and my husband owns his own business, so the independence with his career is certainly a wonderful thing for all of us. We have a roof over our heads and food on our table. I say that we are a very fortunate family. On this day of thanks I am thankful for all of the blessings that I have mentioned and many more that are too plentiful to list. I am thankfu ...
Memaw
2007-11-21 22:46:00
My mother-in-law is one of the greatest people I know. She's a wonderful mother to her two sons and the best "memaw" that a kid could ask for. She is willing to watch my kids no matter what the reason. She would, in fact cancel her plans to keep them (and has done so on occasion without telling us) in order to spend time with them. I know that not very many women will talk about their mother-in-laws in this fashion. I must admit that I am a lucky woman. I get along with Martha as well as I do my own mother. She is a great lady and I have very high respect for putting up with my father-in-law for as many years as she has! *LOL* Martha has suffered from severe joint pain for a long time now. In fact it has always bothered her in some fashion since I have known her. But, in the last three or four years it has become completely intolerable. In fact, Martha was just granted her disability by the state of Arkansas because she is no longer physically able to work. It's really dif ...

The Mist
2007-11-21 21:24:00
When I was a teenager I worked at Sonic as a car hop. I've mentioned this previously in a meme or two. I had a really good friend that I worked with and one night we both had to be at work really early the next morning to open the store. She lived less than ten minutes from the store, and I lived quite far out of town in the country so she offered up her home to me to keep me from having to drive all the way home and back the next morning. We ended up just leaving my car at the store and I rode with her. I drove a wrecked Toyota Corolla and she drove a brand new, candy apple red mustang so this was a nobrainer! On the way home there was a white van in front of us. He was driving very slow and weaving back and forth. We were both agitated with this guy because he was clearly trying to annoy us. So, she sped up and got right on his bumper. He would slam on his breaks trying to get her to hit him. She tried to go around him and he cut her off. Finally he stopped in the middl ...
Birthday Package
2007-11-21 21:10:00
When I was in Baltimore at Becca's house, I had forgotten to bring a book to read on the plane. I had bought some magazines at the air port gift shop. Thank goodness Becca knows me well enough that she had just the right book for me to read on the way home. It was a witty, fun, quick read and it made me wish the trip home was about an hour longer so I could've finished it. The book was called Queen of Babble by Meg Cabot. You may recognize her for her best selling young adult series, The Princess Diaries. I see you shaking your head now. Anyhow, if you haven't read this book, I would highly recommend it. It's a very fun read.I came home this afternoon from work and there was a package on the front porch. I LOVE packages, especially when they have my name on them! (smile) Anyhow, I had some help from my lovely two year old tearing open the box and much to my surprise I had a birthday gift from my B/F/F Becca. She sent me three more Meg Cabot books!!! I was so excited t ...

The McDonald's Mommy
2007-11-20 18:06:00
Last night was hell on me. There is no other way to put it. Since hubby has become a travelpro with this out of town job that he's been working on, it's been really tough on us all. I know it's hard on him being away from the kids and myself so much, but it's a definite challenge for me because I have to tend to the daily house hold things, my job, and children all alone. Our evening routine is pretty consistent with or without Brien most days. But, when you throw a sick kid into the equation it makes matters much more difficult. Tyler ran fever all weekend. I had to take him to the doctor yesterday and it turns out that he has a throat infection. Last night he was not in the best of moods. He whined for me to hold him most of the night and didn't want to sleep in his own bed at bed time. This made getting up at 5am extremely difficult, nearly impossible for me.My saving grace is that with no hungry husband at home in the evenings, McDonalds has quickly become a family ...

Whew!
2007-11-18 23:55:00
What a whirlwind of a weekend! Today we spent most of the day with my adorable niece, Katie who turned 5 today. We saw Disney's new Bee Movie. Tyler was NOT a good movie patron. Imagine my embarrassment when a lady and her two small sons actually got up and MOVED across the theater when Tyler began to throw a fit right before the movie started. I can't say I blame them. I was ready to move away from him myself! I had to take him out of the theater twice because he began to act up. Finally on the last time we just walked outside and waited on the rest of the gang to meet us out there. At two years old, he just doesn't possess the patience to sit still long enough to watch a full feature film, no matter what the theme. I try to give him the benefit of the doubt every time, but it never changes. I'm not sure it ever will. Even at home, he doesn't care to sit still and watch television, unless I can make him sit with me in my recliner. We also went to a Japanese Steakhouse ...
I've got mail!
2007-11-18 22:50:00
I just love getting packages in the mail. I got one today that was packed full of goodies!!! This package included three very interesting items including instant fake snow powder, a gourmet scented pencil that just so happened to be a refreshing smell of root beer, and an ambient fireplace DVD. Upon opening the package, I could immediately smell the pencil which smells exactly like it's intended scent. It made me want a tall frosty mug full of root beer. I had been expecting this package so I was excited to get it the day before my birthday to find out what it contained. The fake snow is amazing and my kids seemed to enjoy it a bit more than myself, but what can I say?! The ambient fireplace DVD is also something that I can see myself using again and again. It will be a great idea to play when we have company. It's a lot easier than using the real fireplace, and the best part about it is there's no mess involved! If you're looking for a good laugh, co check out this vid ...
