Babies Galore! 2008-01-13 08:41:00 I have a sister who is expecting her third child in the next couple of weeks. She is having a little boy. My brother and his wife are expecting their first child next month! I need to get on the ball and get some baby gifts but I've been procrastinating. I love to buy clothes for little babies. Being a mom of two I remember the days when you'd change their clothes hundreds (as though is seemed) of times of day because mine would spit up so often. It's fun to buy clothes for babies, especially little girls because they are so cute and they look so adorable in them! Saturday Photo Hunt 2008-01-12 06:05:00 My 43rd This Week's Theme: SkinnySPH Headquarters ~ The Other 42Since I'm no skinny minny like TN Chick, our lovely Photo Hunt Hostess, I thought I'd post a photo of our Daschund, Oscar. They are known for their long, SKINNY bodies. You have to be careful with this particular breed so that they do not get overweight and that they do not jump down from furniture because they can easily break their backs. The vet says that Oscar is particularly long, so we'll always have to be cautious about his weight but that right now he's perfect. Shampoo 2008-01-11 22:25:00 Being a working mother of two children, my time in the mornings is very limited. I have to get up around three hours before I'm due at work in order to get myself showered, made up, dressed, and hair styled. It took my by surprise that she would ask for this, but it sounded like a great idea. We stopped by the grocery store on our way home and were lucky enough to find a 6 pack of glass bottled Coca-Cola and some 2 for $1 peanuts. I snapped a few photos while they enjoyed their treat! Sad... 2008-01-11 06:00:00 It's just almost too sad to turn on the television anymore. It seems like everywhere you turn someone is going into drug rehabilitation. It's bad enough that these celebrities are having to do so, but for them to do so in the public eye makes matters even worse, I'm sure. I feel really sorry for these young girls who have their names in the headlines every day because they've messed up again. I can only hope that I've armed my daughter with the skills to make the right choices in her life when the time comes that these issues pop up in her own life. Sleep...it's over rated, right?! 2008-01-09 21:31:00 Last night was one of those nights I wish I had one of those adjustable beds. Tyler, who is 2 woke up after a bad dream and said he wanted to sleep with me. I was tired and it was storming outside, so I half way figured he wouldn't go back to sleep anyway due to his fear of storms. So, I brought him to our King Sized bed. Well, by the end of the night, hubby was on the edge of his side and I was on the edge of mine. Tyler had free range of the rest of the bed, rolling back and forth and kicking like a mule! Needless to say I am exhausted today and the dreary, stormy weather isn't helping my cause any. Silly String 2008-01-08 14:18:00 Did you know that Silly String could save a soldier's life?! New Jersey mother, Marcelle Shriver (pictured in the photo taken by Mel Evans/AP) was asked by her son Todd, now deployed with the U.S. Army in Iraq, asked if she could send him a couple cans of Silly String. When he revealed the reason that he wanted such an odd item, upon hearing the explanation, an idea was born! Todd explained that U.S. troops in Iraq have discovered that Silly String can help them find deadly tripwires attached to bombs. They spray it into a room before entering and if the strings all settle safely on the floor there aren't any wires. If the strings hang up on something -- the troops know not to go in. What an amazing story! My question is who was the first person to use Silly String for such a purpose?! Those Born 1930-1979 2008-01-05 17:41:00 TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVEDthe 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's!!First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant.They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints. We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking. As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats, seat belts or air bags. Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat. We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle. We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NOBODY actually died from this. We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank Kool-aid made with sugar, but we weren't ove ...

Update 2008-01-04 20:53:00 I just wanted to let you all know that I did get a new laptop. I still plan to take the old one to be repaired, but in the meantime I have a newer, smaller, more compact HP Pavillion. The other one will go to hubby's office when it is repaired (once my photos have been removed) so that he will have a computer for his desk since the secretary now uses our old desktop PC. I guess the progesterone won out this time since hubby didn't want to be trapped with me and two kiddos all weekend with no internet connection available. ;)I am still in the process of setting it up, I've got Firefox installed, and now I'm working on Yahoo Messenger. I got an extended warranty and one time screen replacement so I have to find my paperwork and get it in the shop.
