UGH!
2007-11-08 22:00:00
Well, folks it just went from bad to worse around here tonight. Last night, Tyler pooped in the bath tub. Tonight he gave me a special kind of bath...vomit! I noticed when I picked him up from school this afternoon he looked really pale. He was a bit fussy and clingy as we shopped for birthday gifts for the TWO birthday parties we were invited to attend this weekend. When we got home, he didn't care much for dinner. When we finished I gave him a bath and he started complaining of his belly hurting. It wasn't long after he was dressed until he coughed and got a bit choked. I did the "cupped hand" move that every mother is ever so familiar with, I'm sure. I caught a hand full. About the time I reached to grab the towel I had just dried him with, the flood gates opened and I got my vomit bath. I felt so bad for the poor little fella. Thank goodness hubby came to the rescue and took him to the kitchen and began to strip him down while I did the same. He's asleep now in th ...

Musty Strollers
2007-11-08 21:54:00
Being a mommy of two children, I'm very familiar with the name Mutsy. When shopping, vacationing, walking, etc a stroller is a must have. Musty strollers feature a sleek, modern design with a sophisticated feel and uncomplicated operation that sets it apart both visually and functionally. They also contain large storage baskets which is always a must for me as well as a five point safety harness, front and rear facing seat and tires the swivel for an ultra smooth ride (and push) on any terrain. ***Glad to know you're reading me in in your feeds! :)

Bathtime
2007-11-07 22:01:00
Do you know what this is???I was on the phone with my Mother In Law and my children were in the bath tub. The tub was still filling with water. I heard my son say a couple of times, "My butt hurts". When I hung up the phone, I walked into the bathroom and asked him what was wrong. It was at that time I noticed some floaters in the tub! Tyler had this look of confusion on his face as a brown turd floated by him. At this point, being a mommy blogger what do you think was the first thing I did?! Yup, you got it. I ran for the camera. I knew that I couldn't make this up! About this time big sister realized that she was sitting in the same water that her brother had just taken a dump into! She eeeeeked and then jumped up to the edge of the tub. I was laughing so hysterically that I had a hard time taking the picture. Shelby NEVER pooped in the tub. This was the first time Tyler had done so. I don't think that he realized that he had done so until after the fact.It was qui ...

Temporary Dental Repair
2007-11-07 21:37:00
Have you ever had a filling chip, break, or even completely remove itself from your tooth at the most inopportune time?! This has happened to me twice. As you know Murphy's Law does not allow these sorts of things to happen to you during your dentist's normal working hours where you can give them a call and they can just slot you in at some point during the day! Oh no, that would make things WAY too easy. Life, mine in particular can never work out like that. The first time it happened was on a Friday afternoon. Yes, I said Friday afternoon. I remember I was drinking a cold bottle of water and this shooting pain went from my mouth, right straight to my head. It felt like someone was sticking a needle into my mouth and injecting something very cold right into my veins! It was horrible. I was miserable the whole weekend. The dentist was actually out of town on Monday and it was Tuesday before I could get in to see him and have it fixed. Oh the relief when he did that repair ...

Dessert Recipes
2007-11-07 21:10:00
I must admit that there are a couple of folks in our family who are AWESOME bakers. But, unfortunately neither of them are me! I am NOT the baker of the family. My sister can make a mean peanut butter pie. It is to die for. I'm not kidding. If let it get really cold...almost frozen and eat it while you're sipping some yummy hot coffee (I like French Vanilla flavoring in mine) it will make all of your cares just fly out the window! I'm NOT lying. It's just that good. I've watched her make this stuff and even tried to mimic her recipe and I just can't get it to taste as good as hers. It does require just the right amount of mixing. You don't want it too thick or too thin. To get that filling just right, you have to carefully use some sort of Eclectrics® Mixer. I love to follow behind her and lick the beaters. Does anyone else do this?!She also makes a cake. It is pretty much a baked vanilla cake crumbled in a big bowl with all sorts of yummy stuff thrown in with ...

Peace
2007-11-07 21:04:00
Today, just for today at least. Let's all forget what background, political, religious, and race we come from. Today, just for today at least. Can we all just post a peace globe in hopes that some day, we can all live in harmony. At least we can all live without being at battle with one another. Today, just for today at least. Look at your child, spouse, mother, father, friends, family, or even a stranger in the street and smile. Sometimes a smile is all we need to get us through the day. Last night my husband came home from work to see my daughter "Dancing With The Stars". She was watching the show and mimicking the dancers on the show. She saw her daddy come in the door and she smiled so brightly and asked him to sit down and watch her. He smiled back at her and explained to her that all he needed to make his day was to see her beautiful smile. My friends, that is what today is all about. My future is in the hands of my children. What I do for them makes all the differ ...

November is Alzheimer's Awareness Month
2007-11-07 20:36:00
When I graduated from High School, I was working at the Sonic Drive In located in my home town. I quit to help my boyfriend's mother (now my mother in law) take care of her aging mother. She had to move her into their home because she had the early signs of Alzheimers. At first the job was nice. She was a wonderful lady and I really enjoyed staying with her. She quilted and it was so amazing to watch her cut those tiny squares and make them into beautiful quilts. But, as this horrible disease began to take over she went down hill quickly. It started out that she didn't know who her daughter was. My mother in law was her only daughter AND the youngest child. They were very close and I must say this was one of the most difficult parts of this illness. It was terrible to see the hurt on her face as she watched her mother's eyes lose that knowing and loving gaze along with her memory. She would stare off into space because she knew nothing of who she was and most importantly ...

Daylight Savings Time
2007-11-06 07:00:00
What do you think about Daylight Savings Time? This time of year it seems to really get the best of me. I hate that it gets dark so early. Today as I was getting ready to go home from work it was getting dark. I HATE that. I also hate that the sun starts peeping in on me earlier than it was in the mornings. I am a dark sleeper. Once light hits my eyes and I open them I have a horrible time getting back to sleep. Just like anything else, we'll be back to normal in a couple of weeks and then we'll gripe about "springing forward"! How do you feel about DST? Do you think that we should still fall back and spring forward? Comment me and let me know. I think that we should split the difference a half hour and leave it alone.Happy Tuesday to you all.***Glad to know you're reading me in in your feeds! :)

Bargains!
2007-11-05 22:25:00
It happens to me every year. Tyler and Brien's birthdays are both in August, as well as a nephew, mother in law, and father. August is a big month for my family. We barely recoup when September rolls around where my mother and sister celebrate birthdays merely days apart. There are a few other birthdays scattered out throughout the month. October slides by pretty easily, there is a mid-October birthday, and then Halloween.November comes and I begin to panic. The Christmas decor begins to appear almost overnight in the retail stores screaming at you that you need to be spending money! But, wait...November is full of birthdays (mine included) and then there's Thanksgiving. It's time to pull out the pocket books, folks. We get to spend that hard earned money on meaningless gifts that in a year will be forgotten about anyhow.Never fear, if you need a cheap digital camera or GPS System techbargains.com is a great place for all of your holiday shopping needs. Happy Birthday
2007-11-05 11:13:00
This candle is in memory of my grandma. Today is her birthday. I miss my grandmother terribly. She died from complications due to lung cancer. She smoked right up until she was hospitalized for the final time and was unable to get up and walk outside. She was the foundation that kept our family together. After my grandmother died, my mother and her sisters had a fall out and most of them don't even speak anymore. My grandmother loved each and every one of her children and grandchildren no matter what they did. She was a beautiful woman. I remember one time my cousins & siblings were dancing and fooling around and grandma came into the room. We were jamming out to some pop music and she started dancing with us. We laughed hysterically at her b/c she was trying so hard to do the moves like they were doing on MTV. Grandma was just amazing like that. She made us smile no matter what the situation. I only remember getting a spanking from my grandma one time. We were climbing ...
