Right about now, I sure do wish I was in Malibu. No, not at one of those fancy drug treatment centers, but perhaps sitting on the beach somewhere sipping something cold and fruity. I am really ready for spring. Actually I am more ready for summer, but for now spring will do. I'm getting the winter blues. I am tired of being cooped up in the house. I'm tired of having to bundle up every day before I leave and what's worse...bundling the kids up only for Shelby to cry that she wants to remove her layers when she gets in the vehicle because she is HOT. I'm ready for flip flops and capris! *Sigh* It is coming isn't it?! Spring will be here before we know it, right?***Glad to know you're reading me in in your feeds! :)

2008-01-25 17:09:00
This conversation takes place in our vehicle on the way to the video store to rent movies.Shelby: Mom, I want to rent the movie with the french fry people.Me: French Fry people? What in the world are you talking about?Shelby: You know the one with the pig that walks on the ceiling and leaves tracks?Me: *giggles* Do you mean, "Spider pig?"Shelby: Yes, that's it, the movie with Spider pig.Me: That is The Simpsons. So, why do you call them french fry people?Shelby: Because their hair is made out of french fries. ***Glad to know you're reading me in in your feeds! :)

Monster Trucks and Girlie Stuff
2008-01-25 17:08:00
I got all of the luggage packed up for hubby. He plans to take Tyler, our two year old son to his first ever monster truck show tonight! He is still not fully potty trained, so Dad will need a change of clothes and pull ups just in case. They are both pretty excited. Brien plans to take his two nephews as well. His cousin will also be bringing his son. They have never seen the show before so they are all geared up and ready to go. Since the boys will be having their night out, we girls shall not be outdone! We don't really have anything set in stone just yet. We might just grab a bite to eat at the Japanese Steakhouse and then watch a movie or rent some movies to take back home and watch. But, it should be a fun night for all involved! We're keeping our fingers crossed that the weather cooperates!***Glad to know you're reading me in in your feeds! :)

Perma-Linkies
2008-01-24 06:00:00
Do you use Mr Linky's Magical Widgets? If so, do you export your links? If you are asking what this means, chances are you probably don't. I didn't realize until recently that the links that you leave in Mr Linky aren't treated as such because they aren't embedded into a post. So, the blog author has to go in and embed them into the post for Technorati and Google to treat them as a permanent part of the text of the post. You can read more about it at Mr Linky's blog.***Glad to know you're reading me in in your feeds! :)

So Sad...
2008-01-22 21:10:00
NEW YORK -- Heath Ledger, the talented 28-year-old actor was found dead Tuesday in a Manhattan apartment, face-down and naked at the foot of his bed with prescription sleeping pills nearby, police said. There was no obvious indication that the Australian-born Ledger had committed suicide, NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said. sourceMany of you may already know that I am a HUGE fan of the movie, A Knight's Tale starring Heath Ledger. This is actually one of my favorite movies. Heath Ledger has been a favorite leading man of mine for a long time. I was very saddened to hear this news this of his death this afternoon, especially knowing he had a little girl who will grow up without a father. I just hope this ends up only being an accident and not something he did on purpose. May he rest in peace, my thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family at this most difficult time. ***Glad to know you're reading me in in your feeds! :)

Ooops!
2008-01-22 21:06:00
It seems as thought I now have a gold chain on my need to buy list. Somehow I've "misplaced" mine, I suppose. I think that on my last trip out of town for work, I might have left it at the hotel. That is the last time I can remember having it on. The worst part about it was that two years ago my boss got me a really pretty three stone diamond pendant for a Christmas gift and I'm pretty sure that is what was on it. So, not only did I lose my favorite gold chain but I also lost a very important Christmas gift that is irreplaceable. D'oh!***Glad to know you're reading me in in your feeds! :)

Just my thoughts
2008-01-21 21:05:00
Like a lot of folks in this country, I have a job. I work, they pay me. Ipay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. Inorder to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine testwith which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to peoplewho don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urinetest to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it forthem? Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back ontheir feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someonesitting on their butt, doing drugs, while I work. . . .Can you imagine how much money the country would save if people had topass a urine test to get a public assistance check?Matt Man, are you listening? This could be your platform!**I did not write this. I received it in an e-mail and it reflected my opinion so much that I thought I should post it. What do you think?*****Glad to know you're ...

Manic Monday - Date
2008-01-21 06:43:00
MM Headquarters ~ Previous MMsSince Brien and I began dating at a very young age (16) I went on very few dates before he and I got together. I was very shy when I was younger and I had a complex about eating in front of boys. I dated a guy and he was very tight with his money. We would go to the dollar movies for our date, he would always offer dinner but I was too scared to eat in front of him.The first time Brien took me on a date, I remember going to a place that had a salad bar. I only ate salad followed by broccoli and cauliflower with ranch dressing. He kept asking me if that was all I was going to eat. He got a steak and baked potato. I remember when he brought me home, Mom asked how the date went and I told her that it was fine. He was a really nice guy and I liked him a lot. I headed for the fridge. She asked why we didn't eat dinner. I told her that I had just eaten light and was hungry again, then I proceeded to pig out in the comforts of my own home, away from a ...

Just Random Stuff
2008-01-20 19:35:00
Cartoon by Dave Walker.Lately my blog seems to have turned into a blog full of memes. I seem to find less time to visit all of you who visit me on a daily basis. Thanks to my good buddy, Kai who explained in this post how to find out how many feed readers you have I know that there are quite a few of you at least reading me in Google Feeds. I'd like to thank you for that. When I started this blog back in November of 2004, I never EVER thought that people other than close friends and family would actually read it, let alone comment. I am humbled by this fact. I am so happy to know that I have made so many good friends in the blogosphere. Hopefully some day have the pleasure of meeting some of you.My life as a working mom is very hectic and most of the time it's hard for me to find time to sit down and write a "real" blog post anymore. Work is crazier than it's ever been and since I can't blog from work anymore I don't even think about what to post during work hours. It see ...

Wireless
2008-01-20 19:32:00
I am so glad that I have a laptop with wireless capability. I've been sitting here all cozied up in front of the television watching my little guy run around and around in circles riding his stick pony and blog hopping all at the same time. I remember not so long ago when I was confined to a desk with my monitor and PC and the good old Cat 5 cable. Those were the days!***Glad to know you're reading me in in your feeds! :)

A Special Review
2008-01-19 12:00:00
I've been asked to try these Grey Poupon mustards for an honest review. I was thrilled to get this opportunity because I love mustard. Mustard is my condiment of choice when eating most things. I tried these mustards on a ham and cheese sandwich. My favorite, by far was the hearty spicy brown. It had a bit of a garlic taste to it that tickled my taste buds delightfully! It will definitely be my mustard of choice. The harvest coarse ground was a bit too spicy for me. It was definitely a flavor explosion in my mouth. It had a bit of a dill flavor to me and was a bit too spicy for the ham and cheese sandwich that I tried it with. It would however be a great additive to family recipes that require the use of yellow mustard, such as deviled eggs. For a wonderful change to the ordinary yellow mustard that you are accustomed to adding to your favorite sandwich, the hearty spicy brown is definitely a wonderful choice!***Glad to know you're reading me in in your feeds! :)
