Feng Shui Tips for Your Kitchen
2007-11-13 09:45:45
Feng Shui (say fung shway) associates the kitchen with both health and prosperity. Couple this perspective with the role of the kitchen as the heart of the home, and you can see that any feng shui problems in this room can have a significant impact on your family. Here are some quick tips for improving the feng shui of this important area of the home.
Good housekeeping is good feng shui! Keep your kitchen shiny and clean for the best possible energy. A cluttered, dirty kitchen will have stagnant, dirty energy, which interferes with your ability to cook and enjoy healthy, nourishing food. When you are poorly nourished, your ability to work hard and earn a good income will suffer.
Hidden clutter counts. An excess of stored food in the pantry or freezer can become clutter if it far exceeds a reasonable amount for your family. Old, stale food has old, stale energy, even if the expiration date is still months (or even years) away. Clean out your food cupboards and refrigerator regu ...

Crafty Country Decorating Style Ideas
2007-11-13 09:26:10
If you´ve ever seen Frank´s decorations on TLC´s Trading Spaces, then you know all about the country style of design. From stenciled drawings to wooden cows to ruffled curtains, country design has all the frills you might expect from our dear friend, Frank. When I was a little girl, my grandparents sold woodwork at the flea markets all over Tennessee and Kentucky. We had wooden calendars with dolls or bears painted on them. We had quilt racks with hearts. We had every crafty country decoration imaginable. Although I thought at one time that you could just toss all these things into a room and have style, I´ve learned since that there are very definite ways to create crafty country rooms that men are still willing to enter.
Crafty country is great, but if you are not careful, your husband may be ready to kick you out of the house. Country design tends to be frilly and a bit girly, and your husband may not approve. One way to create a home that is comfortable fo ...

Tips Of Home Interior Decorating
2007-11-13 08:46:33
Your house is something special. It´s the place where you live, where you find warmth and safety, shelter and so much more.
It´s a sentimental place that is part of your life. So that place must be well decorated for you to have a good time and feel comfortable in it. Because it is so important, you can´t let this decorating job in the hands of anyone. There may be sites that tell you what is better and what´s not for the home design, but it´s actually down to you. It is your house and your life; no one can really decide in your place and influence you.
Depending on what style you chose your home to be, on what theme, age or background it has to represent you in a way or another. Trying to shock is also an interesting theme because trying to shock others may have unwanted effects if the way you are trying to impress is not personal.
Some things are imperative in choosing how to decorate your home:

8 Simple Strategies To Decorating a Childs Room
2007-11-13 08:29:27
When it comes to decorating a child´s room, your approach should be much different from decorating an adult bedroom.
For kids, their bedroom is where they play games, read, listen to music, day-dream, or just go to be alone sometimes. So use these eight strategies to help create a space that will make you both happy:
1. Talk to your child. Find out what activities and fantasies he or she enjoys; what their favorite color is; and what´s unique about their personality that a theme could be built around.
2. Allow your child to help. Let them have a say about colors, fabrics, and how they want to display their collectibles.
3. Make the room multi-functional. Since children use their room for many activities besides sleeping, it should have several different zones, such as a play area, reading area, and entertainment area.
4. Make storage a priority. Try shelving, large decorative wicker baskets, plastic see-through containers, and closets that contain plenty of shelving and r ...
