Organising favourites*
2008-01-19 01:56:00
There's nothing like organising your favourite links to get a sense of where you have been, what phases you have gone through and what crazy ideas you've had. My list is so out of control on my home PC I spontaneously decided to do a clean up. What I found:1. India Travelogue - from the research of my trip 2 years ago to India2. Ecohut - I decided briefly to build my own hut on a rural property.3. Random Wikepedia entries - do I really need to have 1936 bookmarked???4. National parks - for when I was training for the 100km Oxfam trailwalk5. Buyers agents - for when I wanted someone else to buy my property for me6. NSW Crime statistics - I have no idea why I ever wanted that7. Twinbase - ??8. Indian Hindi Movie songs - to satisfy my bollywood music addiction acquired in India9. Universal Music India - ditto10. Blind cleaning Service - ha! As if I would ever organise myself to get someone to clean my one big blind!11. Educational Scholarship progam for Grameen Foundation - I guess I ...

Christmas
2007-12-23 21:29:00
Well, there isn't anything Christmasy about this post actually. I am disappointed by the lack of Christmas movies on Australian television again however. I want Scrooge! Scrooged! And whatever other movie based on Charles Dickens 'A Christmas Carol' there is out there. I DO NOT want - Christmas Carols in some domain or music bowl or weirdarse movies like 'Fast and the Furious' (why?) I suspect this is to keep unruly alcohol-loving young men home Christmas eve so they're not too drunk or hungover for the family gatherings the following day.Overall, I am a happy girl this Christmas. I FINALLY got my money back from my suspect company this week. Woo hoo! and I am now on annual leave for a month! Double Woo hoo! It's all good. How am I wasting my online time now instead of blogging? Looking at New York real estate of course. My Dad came to visit and thinks buying property in New York is a good investment. Possibly for other people with more money than me, but what the hell ...

In trouble...
2007-11-22 21:39:00
You may have noticed that I have not posted anything for some time. There is a reason for this - I have been shopping. Ebay has taken hold of me and hasn't let go. With Christmas approaching it did seem to me to be the best way of getting it all over and done without having to set foot in a store. Yes, I am one of these freaky people that gets their shopping done early. Traumatic memories of Christmas shopping in real stores has scarred me for life and I now avoid them like the plague. I don't even like to LOOK at the Christmas hoards from a distance, much less go anywhere near them. Anyway, as you may expect, my online shopping has ended in tears (as do many things). I have just discovered that I have been charged $300 by an unknown company on my credit card statement. 300! I have no memory of this transaction, it's some menswear company and it's obviously not my purchase. Naturally, I have panicked. Someone has compromised my card online! I rang the bank right away and put in a d ...

More moth news!
2007-10-11 00:59:00
Hehehehe....never thought that would be a headline....This article from smh.com.au is funny. Had to share:Bogong warning: don't yawnEdmund TadrosOctober 11, 2007 - 3:09PMManagement at the head office of ACP Magazines in Sydney have warned staff to "refrain from yawning" to avoid bogong moths flying into their mouths.Workers at ACP headquarters in Park Street, Sydney, were a little bewildered at today's note, which seems to take Occupational Health and Safety to a new level.Swarms of migrating bogongs have been clustering around buildings across the city, including prominent buildings such as the offices of the Prime Minister, John Howard, in Phillip Street, and Governor Macquarie Tower, where Premier Morris Iemma's office is located. My photo of the moths! The ACP note was posted on the staff intranet and detailed the warning about the moths' supposed penchant for flying into mouths."There have been several unreported cases of moths flying into people's mouths on the street, especia ...

Moths attack Sydney!
2007-10-09 18:51:00
Yes, that's right. We have been over-run by moths!Moths, moths, everywhere. It is like something out of the bible. It is very disturbing and weird. Someone from yoga has had them in her hot water system and they keep clogging it up so much that it shuts her hot water down.....so weird....I have had them hanging out in my clothes when I put them outside and when I unpeg they swarm! I think my meth-addict neighbour who lives in the flat above me is scared of them and he keeps spraying outside. At first I thought it his cheap cologne, but realised that even he had some standards. I'm not sure why he is spraying, as they are in plague proportions so its unlikely to help, but being the good meth addict that he is, he likes to fritter his time away on useless tasks.Goodo! ...

Liar, liar, liar
2007-10-07 15:36:00
You may recall that I had some concerns initially about the guy that I just met on TIDSTSRN.My exact quote was:'No offence to honest policing people, but generally through my experiences in the past, policing men = compulsive liar men.'Already, and very sadly, I have been proved correct. The guy I have just met has changed his profile name on TIDSTSRN and changed his location back to Canberra. He told me that he was new to living in Sydney, was going away on holiday and then he might have to move back to Canberra after his holiday. He has the nerve to write on his profile now that he is new to Canberra (despite telling me that he had been living there for years and has owned a house there for 12 months!!!!), effectively leaving his profile the same and just changing the city names!!! WTF? You either live in a city or you don't.Why would you bother putting yourself on TIDSTSRN if you were only staying in a city for a few weeks?? Why bother lying about where you were living? I actuall ...

I like him...
2007-10-04 23:13:00
Ok....I have had a second date and I officially like him. *sighs* He's really good looking, has a great body and can say the word 'marriage' without obviously choking. I did as Miss A. suggested and ignored the lack of communication and pretended that it wasn't an issue and we went out to dinner (To his credit, he did actually ring whilst I was nearing the end of my Ashtanga session, and it does make for interesting date conversation if you say "Sorry I couldn't take your call, I was in the middle of a headstand when my mobile rang"). However I have 2 problems:1. He is going away on holiday in a week for 3 weeks.2. He might not be staying in Sydney *sobs* I wouldn't be so worried about the going away part, if I didn't have such a bad experience with the last guy that I sort-of liked from TIDSTSRN. He also went away for a few weeks after our second date, sent me a text message from Milan while he was away, re-connected with me when he got back, made a date with me for a publ ...

He's emailed me now...
2007-10-02 02:05:00
*sighs*Now he's emailed me asking me to dinner on Thurs.*sighs*Miss A. has told me to see him and not hold it against him that he hasn't texted me when he said he would or contacted me.She has said that I should go out with him for dinner (even though I have plans to go to yoga and I have already missed one class this week because of the public holiday). In her words, yoga isn't going to give me an orgasm whereas he will. Not sure about that, but we'll see.Back to the grind of this dating business again.*sighs* ...

Continued....
2007-10-01 15:43:00
Last week I posted that I MIGHT have met someone from TISDSTRN. Unfortunately, I was wrong (again). Our departing conversation went something like this: 'It was really good to meet you and I'd like to talk more. We should catch up again next week.' - Him 'Sure.' - Me 'I'll text you on Sunday and we can sort out a time.' - Him. 'Ok.' - Me. Seems simple enough doesn't it? Now, do you think that I ever received this text from him? NO!!!! This TIDSTSRN just becomes more and more bizarre the longer you are on it. I would consider that he was never interested to begin with, but why bother saying that you wanted to meet up again? *sighs* I can only assume that within the space of less than 6 days he has managed to meet someone else or changed his mind about me. TIDSTSRN is very depressing. If I didn't know people that had met and got married from meeting on the site I would be adamant that meeting anyone this way would be impossible..... I had a similar experience to Ms. G., and ...

Getting luckier?
2007-09-26 18:36:00
After all our bitching about the failings of TIDSTSRN, it appears that I might - big emphasis on MIGHT - be starting to meet some normal/workable guys from that site.Last night I had a date with another guy (probably my errr...10th or so...I have lost count) and he seemed normal and was really good looking.Hmmm...I'm not sure if I should be optimistic or too hopeful too soon, but so far, he is definately one of the better guys that I have met from there. Anyone with a hot body gets a big thumbs up from me along with anyone that doesn't appear to have obvious frontal lobe damage.Anyway, we have arranged to meet up again next week. Usually I find that the 2nd date is the one where I have a better idea about whether or not it's going to work or not. Already I have some concerns about his occupation being in the policing field. No offence to honest policing people, but generally through my experiences in the past, policing men = compulsive liar men.But don't worry - I am not going to j ...

Brad Pitt
2007-09-20 18:31:00
I had a sexy dream about Brad Pitt last night.I was in New York, Brad was there (I won't go into more detail here - use your imagination), shopping was also involved.....perfect!*sighs* Then I woke up and I had to go to work.*sobs*PS. If you are a Jungian therapist don't even bother analysing my dream for me...I know what it means....*sobs* ...

The flaw of internet dating
2007-09-19 23:39:00
Well...another week has gone by since my last post. Time flys when work beckons and one is busy, busy, busy (or in my case, distracted by other things - like ebay).Ms G. has given TIDSTSRN the flick after concluding that its entire premise is destined to fail. Her summation is essentially as such:Internet dating requires a chemistry to be instantaneous, otherwise neither party agree to meet again. Thus, relationships formed under such circumstances are either 1. unhealthy or 2. unrealistic. There is a fascinating theory behind this, outlined in Jeffery Young's Schema book, which you may check out if you are interested.Really, the book should be called, "How you f-up in relationships and why" and it is very good if you have a pattern of dating bad men (or women), duds or other such losers. It outlines how we pick certain men (or women) based on a 'chemistry' which rather than being sexual or romantic in nature, is actually triggered by our 'schemas' (ways of understanding the world ...

So over it ....
2007-09-10 01:39:00
Sometimes I feel as though there is a little sign on my head that reads:If you are a dysfunctional male, please harass me. And keep harassing me as I have nothing better to do than be harassed by you.My ex-neighbour has caused me more grief on TIDSTSRN this weekend. *sighs*. Let me tell you the story. Many years ago, when I was living in my old flat my neighbour left me a note in my letterbox asking me to go out with him. Creeped out, I wrote a polite note back, telling him that I wasn't interested (I think I also had a boyfriend at this stage, but it's all become a blur). As we were on the building committee together this created awkwardness but I managed to get over it and he didn't ask me out again.Anyway, fast forward to many years later and I first put myself on TIDSTSRN. Within a day he had initiated some contact with me on this site. WTF? This is someone that I KNOW IN REAL LIFE pretending....what? Like he doesn't know who I am???? Or somehow thinking that he'll get lucky vi ...
