MIL & Grandparent Gift Ideas
2007-11-29 11:36:00
I've been asked to post about some of the Christmas gifts I've made in the past for my Mother-In-Law and Grandparents. I really believe that Christmas gifts should come from the heart and be homemade, when possible. I also LOVE a poem or story to go with each gift. I feel like it sets the tone and makes the gift more meaningful. Here are the ones I can remember:12 Days of Christmas for Grandparents - I did this for all of the grandparents one year and it turned out amazing! I boxed it all up in one box and shipped it to each grandparent. There's a poem for each day that corresponds with the gifts. I've done all the work for you, and made each poem into a "tag" to attach to the front each wrapped gift.Feel free to tweak the poems to accommodate the gifts you want to give. Here's the intro poem:The 12 days of Christmas is the song that I singand in this sack 12 presents I bring.December the 13th is when you may start.Unwrap one a day with love from my heart.Having you as grandparents ...

Easy Christmas Crafts & Gifts
2007-11-26 09:04:00
This was one of my favorite gifts I received last year. Mainly because I loved the idea and I hadn't seen it before! This is simply vinyl lettering, on a shower block, with a bow tied around it. I think this would also be great with "Let it Snow!".My girlfriend painted this for me last year. She simply painted a block of wood cream and then painted on some stain and then wiped it off. She used a template to stencil on "believe". Simple yet so cute. Anyone have a cute story to with this "believe"? That would make the gift perfect. Both my boys made these Reindeer foot print and hand print pillows at their pre-school. They love it when I get them out every year. This would be a fun craft to do with the kiddos and a great grandparent gift.I cracked up when my son brought this home last year! It's a reindeer made out of pantyhose and a hanger! Can you believe how simple and cute this craft is. They did it during the Christmas party at school. So all of you room moms out there - here's a ...

TipJunkie.com is proud to present the 'Great Tip Award' to several women who have inspired us with some great Thanksgiving Traditions.Meredith posted about her Thanksgiving Tradition of making a thankful chain each November. They start on the first of November and each evening at dinner have everyone write one thing they're thankful for on a strip of paper. They also have another fun tradition, click here to read all about it.Cheryl sets out a basket of paper strips and a pen, and every one's instruction is to write down things they are thankful for on the strips. On Thanksgiving morning they read the items together and talk about how blessed we are. Cheryl goes one step further and makes a scrapbook page out of them.I am so impressed with Kelli who has challenged everyone to "give thanks" and also provided topics you can blog about.
