Pro Bowl safety Sean Taylor died Tuesday after he was shot in his home by an apparent intruder, leaving the Washington Redskins in mourning for a teammate who seemed to have reordered his life since becoming a father.
The 24-year-old player died at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he had been airlifted after the shooting early Monday, family friend Richard Sharpstein said. Sharpstein said Taylor’s father informed him of the death at about 5:30 a.m.

Mariah Carey recently announced that her new album is due out in 2008. She said it resembles her previous album The Emancipation Of Mimi and went on to say that her new album should be considered The Emancipation Of Mimi Pt. 2.
At the launch of her new M fragrance in LA, Marah said:
“I am so happy with the new tracks - there are 22 that we’re trying to decide from.
But the way I like to look at it is the last album was the main course, and the new one is the dessert!”
Nate “Danjahandz” Hills, DJ Toomp, T.I., Bryan Michael Cox, Tricky Stewart, Jermaine Dupri, Stargate, Polow Da Don, and Will.I.Am are said to be providing the majority of the production on the album.

Foxy’s Out of the Hole
2007-11-27 00:06:49
Did you ever think you’d hear the words “Foxy Brown” and “good behavior” in the same sentence?
Well, here goes: TMZ has learned that rapperista Foxy Brown has been let out of “punitive segregation” early — for — yes — “good behavior” while in solitary. She was supposed to do 76 days in the unit, but only did 40 days. We’re told that she was one of four female inmates given early release among the 20-plus in the unit, and our source stressed that she received neither celebrity nor holiday treatment.
Foxy (real name: Inga Marchand) got herself thrown into solitary for shoving another inmate and refusing to give a urine sample, but we’re told that she was cmpliant and cooperative. Do you believe in miracles?

Good behavior? Im suprised ol’ girl didn’t smack the shit out of the air around her for bumping into her.

Prosecutors To Use T.I.’s Previous Gun Violations In Trial
2007-11-26 13:14:38
In a document filed Monday prosecutors pointed out that T.I. had violated gun laws previously by possessing firearms and silencers while a convicted felon.
Prosecutors plan on introducing evidence of the three occasions on which T.I. violated gun laws.
The first was Dec. 22, 2001, in Atlanta. Harris allegedly gave the name Douglas Morgan and was carrying a concealed 9 mm pistol. The arrest didn’t result in a criminal conviction. He was arrested Nov. 1, 2002, in Henry County and later convicted of carrying a 10 mm pistol, the document said.
The third arrest was the result of a search warrant executed at his home in Fulton County on Dec. 18, 2004. Officers said they found a firearm with an attached silencer, large amounts of ammunition and photos of Harris holding weapons. The incident didn’t result in a criminal conviction.

Video: Ed Lover Announcing 2Pac’s Death At Nas Concert
2007-11-26 13:01:26
It’s as unbelievable as it was sad. We recently uncovered old footage of a 1996 Nas concert. Don’t get it twisted, we were so excited to come across It Was Written-era Esco doing a show in New York. While viewing the show, though, we were shocked that it was stopped abruptly by radio host Ed Lover. Eddie Mack delivered some of the most sobering news ever to the audience: Tupac Shakur had just died. Here is how Ed remembered it:
“It was during a back-to-school concert at Nassau Coliseum. I don’t remember who was on the bill, but I believe Nas was headlining. At the time I was working at Hot 97. I was driving to the concert and Angie [Martinez] was on the air crying because it was confirmed Tupac had died. When I arrived to the show, somebody on the side of the stage got Nas’ attention, and he talked to me between two songs.
I told him what was going on. He said, “I can’t make the announcement, you make the announcement.” I thought that ...

NYC Acts Against Offensive Rap Lyrics
2007-11-25 16:27:13
New York’s public advocate, Betsy Gotbaum, is protesting offensive rap lyrics to 14 recording and broadcasting companies.
The city retirement fund invests over $5 billion into the entertainment industry which Betsy says is peddling violent images and degrading lyrics to children.
“When individuals like Russell Simmons, Al Sharpton and Oprah Winfrey speak out against offensive content in hip hop, media executives need to be concerned,” Gotbaum writes.
Her campaign caps a year of criticism for rap lyrics.
Earlier this year Al Sharpton called for voluntary ban on bitch, hoe, and the n-word.
“They have suggested divestment as a possible course of action,” Gotbaum says in her letter.

It’s ridiculous that these people spend all this time trying to disenfranchise rap instead of getting involved with communities that are plagued with the problems that rappers talk about in their songs. Instead of attacking the “newscasters” why don’t th ...
