Michael Jackson To Release New Edition Of “Thriller”

The best selling album of all time, Thriller, is getting a re-release via Epic/Legacy Recordings February 12th. In celebration of the release’s 25th anniversery the deluxe edition will come with unreleased tracks and remixes featuring or mixed by Kanye West, Akon, Will.I.Am, and Michael Jackson. MTV revealed:
A fresh Kanye remix of “Billie Jean”; Akon and Will.I.Am’s new take on “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ “; “The Girl Is Mine” and “P.Y.T.” remixes by Will.I.Am; the rare unissued song “For All Time,” a track from the original recording sessions that has been newly mixed and mastered by MJ; “Someone in the Dark”; “Carousel”; and the original “Billie Jean” demo.
The LP will also include a bonus DVD with the “Thriller,” “Beat It” and “Billie Jean” videos, plus Jackson’s performance of the latter cut during the 1983 NBC special “Motown 25: Yesterday, ...

J Prince Charged With Felony Assault

Misdemeanor assault charges against Hip-Hop mogul James Prince were upgraded to felonious aggravated assault by a grand jury yesterday (November 30).
Prince is accused of orchestrating the dramatic beating of Ronald “Ronnie” Bookman, the owner of recording studio 7303.
Bookman filed a lawsuit against Prince in April, alleging that Prince ordered men to attack him at Prince’s Fresh Recreation Center Gym in Houston, Texas.
Bookman had recently established a record label, 7303 Records.
He claims he was lured to Prince’s gym to discuss the clearance of vocals by rapper Bun B., who was supposed to appear on an album Bookman was releasing.
In exchange, Bun B. recorded his gold selling album Trill at 7303’s studios at a discounted rate.
Bookman claims Prince and Rap-A-Lot Records refused to license the record, after it was learned that Warner Brothers approached Bookman with an offer.

Interview With Former Jay-Z Associate De-Haven

De-Haven Irby is the former associate of Jay-Z from when he lived in Brooklyn’s Marcy Houses projects. Dehaven has a series of youtube videos which speaks out on Jay-Z calling him a lier and also accusing him of turning his back on people who helped him make it. He was the topic of Jay-Z’s “No Hook” song off American Gangster: “Fuck De-Haven for cavin’, that’s why we don’t speak,” he raps. “Made men ain’t supposed to make statements. End of the story, I followed the code, cracked the safe. Other niggas ain’t in the game so they practice hate.” He spoke to the New York writer Ben Westoff about the controvery and his association with Jay-Z.

Update On Sean Taylor Case

There has been some advances in Sean Taylor’s murder case as four people have been arrested in connection with the shooting.
Miami-Dade Police spokeswoman, Linda O’Brien, identified the men as: Venjah K. Hunte, 20; Eric Rivera Jr., 17; Jason Scott Mitchell, 17; and Charles Kendrick Lee Wardlow, 18.
The exact charges are yet to be known but O’Brien said “we are talking murder and burglary.”
Taylor died Tuesday (Nov 27) after being shot during a burglary attempt at his home.
Police director, Robert Parker said, that the suspects didn’t expect Taylor to be home, but he was home recuperating from a injured knee.

Diamond Signs Management Deal

Just days after word got out about Diamond from Crime Mob going solo she has signed a management deal with Cookies and Milk.
“We are thrilled to work with Diamond, because she is a complete artist,” Polo Grounds president Bryan Leach told AllHipHop.com. “Her solo recording career is just the tip of the iceberg. With our focus on film and modeling, new doors will continue to open for her.”
The management deal has already turned up a endorsement deal with the former Crime Mob member.
With rumors circulating around Diamond and Crime Mob she has emphasized that it wasn’t her idea to sever ties with the group:

Akon Slapped With Lawsuit For Throwing Fan

Akon faces criminal charges after a fan said she suffered a concussion when the hip-hop star tossed a teenager off the stage and onto her in the concert crowd, police said Thursday.
Akon is scheduled to appear in Fishkill Town Court on Monday morning for arraignment on a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a minor, and second-degree harassment, a violation, according to a news release from Police Chief Donald Williams.
Audience members said that a spectator lobbed something at Akon and that the singer asked the crowd to point out the culprit. A security guard picked out a 15-year-old and sent him up to the stage, where Akon hoisted him onto his shoulders and flung him into the crowd.
The boy landed on Abby Rosa, who told the Poughkeepsie Journal she was later found to have a concussion. She said she has hired a lawyer and spoken to Fishkill police.

Mannie Fresh’s Sister Murdered

Mannie Fresh’s sister, Angela Bryant, was shot and killed Wednesday night in her New Orleans home. According to Louisiana’s WWLTV her children were inside the home but they were not harmed. Bryant’s husband was out of town when she was killed, the couple were newly weds. Her mother said that they had gone out earlier to celebrate Angela’s birthday.
“We are still working on the motive of this,” New Orleans Police Superintendent Warren Riley told reporters. “We do have some limited information and limited information relative to leads at this time, but it’s still very early at this point.”
Police are still looking for information. They currently are not sure if Bryant knew the killer, but there was no sign of forced entry, according to WWLTV. Her 1998 Lexus LS 400 with tinted windows went missing after her murder.
