Mos Def Signs New Deal

Mos Def’s contract was completed earlier this year, and since then he has been a free agent. He has recently signed to Downtown Recordings which is home to Gnarls Barkley and other rock bands. It’s going to be interesting to see how his musical direction changes, hopefully it’s not “The New Danger” type bull shit.
An album isn’t in the works yet but he said there should be a release in 2008.

G-Unit To Release New Album ‘Shoot To Kill’

In an XXLMAG.COM exclusive, 50 Cent has revealed that he and his G-Unit crew are back in the studio and gearing up to drop their second group album at the end of this year. “The G-Unit album “Shoot To Kill” is coming out December 18th, so cancel Christmas, it’s over,” 50 Cent told XXLMAG.COM. “It’s a righteous kill.” The group’s first album, Beg For Mercy, which was recorded largely during Tony Yayo’s incarceration, sold over 2 million copies when it was released in 2003. In related news, Funkmaster Flex will be premiering the Shoot To Kill’s first track “Wanna Lick,” which features Lil’ Kim, tomorrow on New York’s Hot 97.

Nelly Expects To Hit Hard With Album ‘Brass Nuckles’

“Brass Knuckles” is Nelly’s fifth studio album that is set to drop November 13, 2007. This time around Nelly is clicking up with Pimp C, Sean P, Chuck D, Snoop Dogg, Babyface, T.I., and possibly even Bruce Springsteen. He even wants to get Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson on a track with Janet rapping a 16 and Mariah singing on the hook. Production, as of right now is being handled by Jermaine Dupri, Bryan Michael Cox, Neff-U, Pharrell, and others.
The album is said to be more mature than past Nelly records, the setting being more political and socially conscious. Recently he spoke on the Don Imus situation saying that the punishment the “shock jock” was given was nothing more than a slap on the wrist.

Record Label Denies Nas New Record

NEW YORK — A popular rap star’s shocking claim before a Big Apple audience that his next album will be titled “Nigga” was emphatically denied Tuesday by his record label.
Not only does the rapper known as Nas not have an album called “Nigga” coming out in December, as he told a concert crowd on Friday, but he apparently has no album coming out in December at all.
“There is no album release by Nas on the release schedule at this point,” a source close to Island Def Jam Music Group chairman Antonio “L.A.” Reid told FOXNews.com.

Everybody and their mama has seen the Kim Kardashian sextape with Ray J, and she gained a few weeks of major publicity because of it. Since then she has been seen with like of Marques Houston to Reggie Bush (they broke up).
