LL Cool J Still Frustrated With Jay-Z’s Def Jam

In a recent interview with MTV, LL Cool J aired out some of his frustration’s toward Jay-Z’s way of running Def Jam.
He first said that Jay-Z didnt have the experience to be head of Def Jam:
“I just don’t feel like he had the necessary experience to do that job,” LL states. “I don’t’ know any other record company that he worked for where he learned how to run this business.”
He then said that although he was happy at first to have Jay-Z as the president things turned sour:
“The bottom line is – you gotta do your job man! And if you don’t know how to do your job then maybe universal needs to pay you the money you deserve as an artists and give somebody who really knows the job, the job.”
He went on to speak on Jay’s new album American Gangster and the artist’s situation on it:
“Let’s take this soundtrack for instance, shouldn’t there be other Def Jam artists on this soundtrack,” he asks.

T.I. Drops Request For Thanksgiving Dinner

Lawyer’s for T.I. dropped the requests due to strong opposition they were facing by prosecutors.
The defendant is asking this Court for the very kind of special treatment to which this Court made clear the defendant was not entitled,” federal prosecutors wrote in their response to Harris’ request.
“His constant requests for more visitors, recent complaints about “delays” in the approval of visitors, and requests for maintenance workers and a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with “family” show that the defendant does not … appreciate the generosity of the Court in granting his release….”
The U.S. Attorney’s Office also said that he had submitted a list of 95 names that had to be ran for background checks, irritating court officials.
T.I. was arrested October 13 for allegedly trying to illegally buy machine guns and silencers.

Freeway - Free At Last Info

The long awaited sophmore album from Roc-A-Fella Records artist Freeway Free At Last is due in stores November 20th. It will feature collaborations with 50 Cent, Jadakiss, Jay-Z, Scarface, Marsha Ambrosius of Floetry, Busta Rhymes, and Rick Ross. Production from Dame Grease, Cool & Dre, J.R. Rotem, and Don Cannon have been confirmed.

Kim Kardashian left Ray J this message after finding out about his deal with Vivid Entertainment releasing the now famous sextape. A Vivid Ent. press release has stated:
Vivid Entertainment is relaunching its “Kim Kardashian Superstar” website to promote a new, uncensored edition of the notorious celebrity sex video.
The uncut version of Kim Kardashian Superstar runs over 100 minutes and features over an hour of never-before-seen footage. A trailer on the site promises added sex scenes and candid footage of Hollywood socialite Kardashian and her then-boyfriend, ex-child actor and hip-hop artist Ray J.

Jay-Z And Partners Purchase ‘Artful Dodgers’ Brand For $15 Million

Scion, LLC which is a joint venture between Jay-Z and Iconix Brand Group, Inc, announced today that they purchased the brand Artful Dodger. The purchase price was approximatley $15 million which was paid in cash by Scion.
Artful Dodger is a exclusive brand, mostly sold in boutiques and specialty stores in the UK and United States.
Scion, LLC plans on adding footwear and outwear to make Artful Dodger a lifestyle brand.
Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter stated, “Artful Dodger is an incredible brand with a lot of room for growth and Scott Langton is a visionary designer. They represent what’s next and new in fashion and we are glad to have both the brand and Scott as a part of our family. Artful Dodger represents the first of many acquisitions that will begin to shape our joint venture with Iconix.”
Scion, LLC is a joint venture between Iconix Brand Group, Inc. and Shawn ‘Jay Z’ Carter, to buy, create, and develop brands.
