WitchDoctor "The Barrel" (Audio)
2007-09-25 18:01:03
Exclusive AudioMan, back in the day I was really down hard with the Atlanta's Dungeon Family (Goodie Mob, Organized Noize, OutKast, Cool Breeze, etc,). Well, one of the cats out the crew who i thought had crazy flow was WitchDoctor. He released an album (A S.W.A.T. Healin’ Ritual) back in like '97 and I thought that 'ish was a classic. He dropped another independent album a few years after that, but I couldn't find it. Now he's in the process of dropping a 3rd album on a major label called Diary of an American Witchdoctor due out on October 23rd. The first single from the LP is called "The Barrel". It's hella dope and takes me back to the day when I used to ride up and down the Metro system and hang out in the Underground of ATL. Check it..."The Barrel" (click to listen) ...

Now I know a lot of you out there are Nike heads but you need to broaden your horizons!!! What happened to the days when we used to rock shell toed Adidas? What happened to the days when you were on the hoop court and couldn't even start the game until you pumped up your Reebok Pumps? Well looks like those days are coming back with the Reebok Ventilator UO. It's nicknamed the "Cal-Trans" for it's bright colors that resemble the vests California state roadway workers wear when they are near fast traffic areas. I attached a picture simply to illustrate that the shoes are a perfect match! Since we're on the picture's, check out my mans "stash"......gnarly dude!! Anyway, the Reebok Ventilator is a running sneaker from the 80's that was brought back to the Reebok lineup within the past couple of years. Since that’s the case, I figure I’ll start hitting you with the up and coming lines that are gonna be big for ’08! You’ll know what’s hot waaaaay before the masses and know what’s dropping well in advance!!A line that I’m really feeling for the upcoming fall releases in ’08 is FRESHNES. After visiting a few streetwear tradeshows, such as Magic in Las Vegas, I met the founder of FRESHNES (whose name is Nes),. He conveyed to me that he wanted to bring something different to the game! He felt there were a lot of brands out there riding each others coat tails. So we he did was create a brand that would bring nostalgia to the OG cats and something different to the table! Some of the designs for FRESHNES are based on things that keep you....fresh! Peep the dope logo! FRESHNES is designed ...

"Track by Track" starring Rick Ross in "Rise To Power" by Flo Dirt
2007-09-21 15:15:22
As catchy and trendy as it was, I wasn’t a fan of Rick Ross’ “Hustlin’” anthem, despite the Jigga co-sign and the different look to him and all. I wasn’t really impressed at first by the track or the man. The Miami native and the song both slowly began to grow on me and eventually I noticed his other singles like “Blow.” Well, most people don’t know that Ross was originally signed to the legendary Suave House Records label, owned by Mr. Tony Draper. For those that don’t know, Suave House was home to Tennessee titans like Eightball & MJG and Tela. Tony Draper was a mentor to entrepreneurs like the Bay Ambassador, E-40 and Mr. Draper really put Tennessee on the map. Back in the day when Pen & Pixel ruled the cd cover game, it was No Limit, Rap-A-Lot and Suave House really holdin’ it down for the South. They made the West and the East pay attention.Out of the dust comes Rise to Power, the never-released, unofficial first Rick Ross album that, due to legal wo ...
