Q&A with Ultrabeat’s Ian Redman
2008-04-05 20:18:25
Being from the North West of England, I know the dance scene here is still quite large. And a good friend of mine, Mike, is an avid Ultrabeat fan. He mentioned an album he recently bought, by a trio of Liverpool lads known as Ultrabeat, and his review of it was great though he said some of his favourite tracks were not on it. This took me back to when I first started mixing and I was buying every one of Ultrabeats 12″ releases, Pretty Green Eyes, Feeling Fine etc… So I thought I would get in touch with one of the Liverpool legends. Facebook did it again, I searched for BCM resident & ex-pleasure rooms DJ, Ian Redman and messaged him with a few questions. He kindly got back to me and this is what he had to say: (more…) ...

I know it has been a few weeks since the last chart update, and this one is a few days over due too. But alot has happened in chart world over the last few weeks. Duffy is going down, being #2 last week and #3 this week. Who is to blame for this?? Estelle with her amazing single, American Boy, featuring Kanye West with his cheesy sounding cockney accent. I also remember writing a couple of weeks ago about Flo-Rida feat. T-Pain joining the chart at #9 with their great track “Low”, who are now residing at #2, also about welsh girl Duffy. (more…) ...

Q&A with DJ/Producer Wez Clarke
2008-03-21 09:54:18
I thought i would stick to the House/Electro scene for now, and whilst browsing through facebook one evening, I came across another inspiration of mine, Wez Clarke. Wez is one of the massive names involved with Hed Kandi, regular at Creamfields, and just generally an amazing DJ/Producer. Also being one half of the Wilder & Clarke duo, some fantastic remixes have been made, my personaly favourite being the remix of Shiny Grey - Why. So I messaged Wez on facebook and asked if he would like to be featured on medioscopy.com, and he kindly took a few minutes out to answer a few questions for me: (more…) ...

Oh my word, Duffy is once again top of the chart. “Mercy” has now been #1 for 4 weeks after being put in the chart 5 weeks ago. Infact the top 3 are all the same once again this week with H two 0 settling at #2 and Nickelback at #3. Taio Cruz has shot right up from #17 to nest at the #5 spot this week with his great new tune, “Come On Girl“. Alphabeat have also rocketed from #28 to lay at rest in the #7 space with their debut single, “Fascination“. (more…) ...

Finally I have got round to recording the first volume of what I hope will be a long series of mixes for you guys and girls. This is what I love doing so thought I would bring some of it on to the site. This mix is full of great tunes which are being played all round Liverpool at the moment, by some world class producers including Seamus Haji and David Guetta. I am going to try and upload at least 2 mixes a month for you but I have a job too so it is hard to find the time. (more…) ...

She has done it again, Duffy has landed the top spot for the 2nd consecutive week with her brilliant debut single, “Mercy”. In fact, the top 6 are all left unchanged. With H ‘two’ 0 still at #2 with “What’s It Gonna Be”, followed by Nickelback & Basshunter at #3 and #4. The only changes to the top 10 this week include Rhianna moving up 1 place to #7 with “Please Don’t Stop The Music”, One Republic also moving up 1 place to #8 with “Stop & Stare”. Those spaces being made available by David Jordan slipping down to #9 with his debut hit, “Sun Goes Down”. (more…) ...
