Update On Lil Wayne Arrest

As previously reported, Lil Wayne was taken into custody early this morning near Yuma, AZ on various drug related charges.
According to the Yuma Sun, the arrest came after Wayne’s tour bus was stopped at around 11:30 p.m on Tuesday at a
Border Patrol checkpoint on Interstate 8 near Dateland. During the stop, a narcotics detection dog indicated to officers that drugs were present on the bus. A search of the vehicle turned up 105 grams of marijuana, 29 grams of cocaine and an unspecified amount of the drug ecstasy.
Two members of his entourage were also arrested on marijuana possession charges. The rapper was taken into custody by local law enforcement and officers from the Drug Enforcement Agency. Ramona Sanchez, a spokeswoman for the DEA confirmed that the suspect was in fact Lil Wayne.

TMZ has learned that rapper Lil’ Wayne has been popped by cops for drugs … again!
Law enforcement officials tell us Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter Jr., was arrested near Yuma, Arizona last night on three felony counts: possession of dangerous drugs, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. Cops tell TMZ that the Drug Enforcement Agency was involved in the arrest — which means it’s a big deal! We’re told Lil’ Wayne’s tour bus went through a US Border Patrol checkpoint when the narcotics were allegedly found, that’s when the DEA was called in.
Wayne is currently in the custody of the Yuma County Sheriff’s Department, where he’ll be held pending his arraignment at 9:00 AM PT.
Wayne was arrested in Idaho last year for felony possession of drugs.

Heath Ledger Found Dead

TMZ has learned that 2006 Academy Award nominee Heath Ledger has died in NY.
He was found dead in his bed in one of his residences in Soho by his housekeeper at 3:35 PM ET today. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ they believe it was not a crime, adding that prescription pills were found near his body.
According to NYPD a masseuse arrived at Ledger’s apartment and was let in by a housekeeper. When Ledger didn’t answer his bedroom door, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened it and found him unconscious. They attempted to wake him; when they couldn’t, they called 911.
We’re told when paramedics responded, the actor was in full cardiac arrest. They attempted to perform CPR on him, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
