According to Peedi, he was called into a Philly studio along with State Property cohorts Beanie Sigel and Freeway and told by a Def Jam A&R that they’d been dropped. But Beanie Sigel’s manager, Mark Byers, told Billboard that Beanie and Freeway still call Roc-A-Fella home. “Beans and Freeway didn’t get dropped,” Byers said. “I just got off the phone with L.A. Reid talking about the next video for ‘Rain’ featuring Raheem DeVaughn that we’re about to release. Jay-Z Drops Philly 2008-01-29 15:24:40 According to an interview with Philadelphia rapper Peedi Crakk on MediaTakeOut.com, he and the entire State Property family, including Beanie Sigel and Freeway, have been dropped from Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam. Peedi claims that Jay initially scheduled one-on-one meetings with each rapper to talk, but those meetings never happened. Instead, he sent an A&R from Def Jam out to Philly last week to deliver the bad news. “Which was a hoe move, to me. Foxy Brown Denied Early Jail Release 2008-01-29 15:16:27 A judge has denied Foxy Brown’s request to get out of jail early so she can go to California for an ear examination and for repair of an electronic ear implant. New York State Supreme Court Justice Melissa Jackson ruled Jan. 24 that she will not let Brown go to Los Angeles’ House Clinic for the exam and repair of a defective cochlear implant, the Manhattan district attorney’s office reported Monday. Brown, 29, revealed her hearing problems during a court appearance in 2004. Her petition to Jackson said that her condition was worsening in jail and that she faced serious harm to her hearing unless she had the cochlear implant reprogrammed and repaired. Prosecutors say Brown can get the treatment she needs in New York, but her attorneys say she requires the treatment of specialists at House Clinic.
