How to Prevent Scam Monetization Programs?
2008-02-11 09:28:00
How to test whether a new PPC or other monetization programs is good and not fraudulent? When you first come across a new monetization programs, what will you do to determine whether it is worth for you to join and participate? I often surf over the net and come across many forums to talk about new opportunities for generating income for your site(s). I can tell you there are so many different kinds of monetization programs available on the net that it almost comes up a new one every day. However, I can also tell you that some of them are in fact scams that will never pay you after you did a lot of things or work for them. That will be too late if you fail to receive to payments from these programs. To avoid scams, I need to do something. The way I normally do is to first check the Page Rank of the website first. By using some free PR checker, it is very convenient to check it. One example is http://www.popuri.us/, and apart from Page Rank, you can also check the link popularity in Tech ...
Happy Lunar New Year!
2008-02-07 09:26:00
Today is the first day of the Year of mouse, and the weather is so cold in Hong Kong that has only 8°C. Maybe the readers of this blog are always facing such weather from time to time, or even colder, but to me, it's already freezing cold. If you have a good memory, you should remember that I was not in Hong Kong last Lunar New Year. Yes, I used the earning from Adsense and other monetization programs to subsidize my trip to Eastern Europe. I have been to Dresden and Berlin of Germany, Prague of Czech Republic and Vienna of Austria. You can refer to my post “Trip to Eastern Europe”.But this year, I need to stay in Hong Kong, not because I am not able to earn that much from Adsense, but due to the fact I need to work and only have four holidays. How poor I am. For the bright side, I can save up money for the Valentine's Day which is a day to burn my cash. I think it may be a good idea to write more about the plan to the coming Valentine's day.Anyway, unlike other holidays, my ea ...
More Ads in Oxado for Publishers
2008-02-06 01:00:00
Two days ago, I have added a new 120x240 banner inside the post with Oxado ads and replace the Bidvertiser ads. I have previously review Oxado at its surface, for those readers who have missed it, you can check it here. There are two reasons behind: one is that I would like to know the viability of the Oxado ads, to see how it compares to that of Bidvertiser ads. On the other hand, I can see that there are great improvements done by Oxado. Recently, Oxado is getting a bigger and bigger advertiser base, and starts to serve ads in other languages, including traditional chinese that best fits for Hong Kong publishers(I always suspect I am the only publisher who use Oxado ads in Hong Kong).Several months ago, I had tried Oxado, and there is only one ad showing in all ad blocks. I checked the FAQ there and found out that since there is no advertisements in my language, so only one default ad can be displayed. I was pretty upset by it. But now, since there are much more ads in traditional ch ...
Use Oxado with Adsense Together
2008-02-04 02:58:00
For a long time, Google Adsense Terms of Service prohibited having any other contextual advertising on the same page as theirs, and that included Oxado and Bidvertiser banners. However, the relevant policy has been changed last year, and now the only requirement is that the ads from two ad netowrks must not resemble with each other and there is no risk of confusion, and that ads other than Google's be recognized as such, basically by using a different set of colors. You can see it in their own terms here:https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=32849As I have explained previously, Oxado is one of the best alternatives to Adsense, and yet it is also compatible with Adsense too. Though Oxado has high minimum payout, it has high earning per click too! That means you can have both Google Adsense and Oxado banners on the same page, and increase your revenue opportunities, rather than having to chose only one of the two. However, the color you used for both types of ads sh ...

Clarification on Login Error Message
2008-02-03 20:14:00
There many new Adsense publishers often claim to see the following error message when they were trying to log in:"Welcome! You're signed in to Google Accounts under the email [your email address] and your Google Account password, but this is not a valid AdSense login."Are you one of them? There's been confusion among publishers about this login error message -- especially if you're absolutely positive that you've used the correct email address when logging in. In order to help you access your account, here are some clarifications and tips for troubleshooting. If you're seeing this error message, this means your AdSense account shares the same login and password as a Google Account, but the two accounts are not linked. As a result, when you try logging in at http://www.blogger.com/www.google.com/adsense, our system will only grant you access to your Google Account -- not your AdSense account. To resolve this issue, you'll need to maintain two separate passwords. The easiest way to p ...

New Adsense Payment Option - Western Union
2008-01-31 21:15:00
When I was not here for nearly 4 months, there are many updates from Google Adsense. Though they may not be a hot and fresh announcement anymore, I think it worths to mention in this blog again which specifically talk about Google Adsense. If you are already familiar with these "updates", you can simply ignore these posts, and move forwards to the rest of my blog. The first update I am going to say is the new payment option - the Western Union. In addition to the existing payments like cheques and EFT, Western Union is the third option you can take, if you are within the designated countries. This is pretty much like EFT where only limited locations are available. You can now withdraw your earning in your Adsense account from Western Union within a day after your payment date. So you don't need to wait for 2-3 weeks for the check payment. Your Western Union Quick Cash payment will be made in US dollars. However, at most Western Union agents, you may be able to pick up your payment in yo ...

Special Valentine Code from Chitika
2008-01-30 20:00:00
Today is the last day of January, and is stepping towards February. What do you think is the most important thing in February? I am sure most of you must say the romance day in 14th – the "Valentine Day". It is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other; sending Valentine's cards, or gifting candy. It is very common to present flowers on Valentine's Day. The holiday is named after two among the numerous Early Christian martyrs named Valentine. The day became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished. The day is most closely associated with the mutual exchange of love notes in the form of "valentines." Modern Valentine symbols include the heart-shaped outline and the figure of the winged Cupid. If you have your valentine, it's really the time for you to buy her/him a nice gift, in order to express how deep your love is. But many people say it is always hard to get a ni ...
Easier to get the PIN
2008-01-30 00:09:00
One of the special thing about Google Adsense is that it has higher standards to publishers, and has measures to verify the information provided by Adsense publishers is correct. To do this, Google uses Personal Identification Number and Phone Number Verification to ensure the security and accuracy of your information so you can receive payments from AdSense. In the past, Google would ask you to verify your information when your earnings reached the $50 threshold. However, Google has recently announced that this policy has been change, and such threshold is lowered to $10. This lowered amount means many of you may see a PIN arrive in your mailbox soon, as well as a prompt in your account to verify your phone number. For more information about these holds, you may visit the links in the 'Required Actions' box on your Payment History page. ...
Monetize Your Feed with Feedvertiser
2008-01-25 20:17:00
There are numerous options to monetize a blog, including Bidvertiser ads, AdSense ads, affiliate links, paid reviews, links to your products. Making a living online is not a myth, if your blog receives enough visitors every day. To make the most of your visitors you must keep in mind where do they come from. Those who arrive to your blog from search engine results or directed to you by links from other websites can see your pages fully. But your revenue-generating ads and links are hidden for those who read your RSS feeds. This means that you are wasting a great earning potential, and is losing clicks from a substantial portion of your loyal visitors. If you realize this now, you should use "feedvertising' to do so.Feedvertising is a technology that enables bloggers to run text ads in their RSS feeds. One service I discovered lately that provides such technology is Text Links Ads. If you have a Wordpress blog you can join the network.Feedvertising is very user-freidnly and flexible. Y ...
Bidvertiser Ads for Feeds - New Feature from Bidvertiser
2008-01-23 00:44:00
If you are one of my blog readers, you must know that Bidvertiser is one of my favourites. It offers me considerable commission on referring new publishers and advertisers. In this new year, Bidvertiser has announced a new feature for monetizing your blog feed, if you are using either Wordpres, Typepad or Blogger. The huge growth of RSS feeds, empowered by the growth of blogging, created the demand for new ways to monetize RSS feeds. Hundreds if not thousands of debates through the blogsphere confronted the ones supporting full feeds with the ones supporting partial feeds, were it always ends in "but how can I monetize my feed"?This new feature is called "BidVertiser Ads for Feeds", and once you finished the registration and feed vreification, you will be able to show the BidVertiser CPC ads in your feeds, as well as get access to our various multiple-subscription Feed Widgets that will help you publicize your new feed.Below shows how Bidvertiser Ads for Feeds work:1. Changes in Adsense Referral Program
2008-01-21 23:03:00
At the time when I was busying with my work, Google had decided to change the referral payment structure on Adsense program. All the Asian publishers (except for those in Japan), are not allowed to participate in Adsense program referral. This is definitely a bad news to all of us, as referral payment constitutes a significant portion of my income in Adsense. This is pretty much the same as those programs I always recommend like Bidvertiser and Text Link Ads. This decision was made on 8th January 2008, and since then, there are so much echos and complaining voices over this. (If I wasn't busying with my normal work, I would also write Google an complain letter on this.) As a result of this, Google has announced another new referral payment structure on Adsense program. But..."The changes to referrals promoting AdSense will now depend on where your users are located, regardless of your location as a publisher. You'll earn $100 for every user you refer to AdSense who is located in Nort ...

I Am Back!
2008-01-21 09:17:00
I have to say I miss you all. Can someone tell me how many days there are for my disappearance? I guess there should be more than 5 months!! I am so sorry that I haven't posted any Adsense tips and tricks in the blog for so long. I was busying with my stuff in my workplace. In September and October, I was working in a project for a development in Kygyzstan (hope my spelling is correct though I worked as a planner for over two months with this lovely country), a nation in Central Asia. Originally, I would like to share the CGI images showing such development for nearly 2,000 hectares, but unluckily I still kept them in my ex-working company. And then in November and December, I worked in the government and handle all the planning application (there is a completed and well-structured planning system in Hong Kong here). So I am quite busy from time to time over this three months. While I stopped to post for a week, I found that I was getting lazier and lazier to post a new post. After a mo ...
Say Goodbye to Onsite Advertiser Sign-up
2007-12-14 02:24:00
The recent findings from Google indicates that the Onsite Advertiser Sign-up feature, which allowed advertisers to sign up for AdWords campaigns on your site, hasn't been performing as well as they had hoped. As a result of that , they've elected to gracefully retire this feature and focus our efforts on developing and supporting features that drive better monetization results for you. Call it time management, call it ROI, call it their unwavering commitment to publishers. I really hope that terminating this feature will allow us to earn more from Google. Please be aware that any links you've created that lead to a customizable Onsite Advertiser Sign-up page will soon re-direct to the main AdWords sign-up page. Of course, AdWords advertisers will still be able to target your individual sites by using placement targeting. Thanks for your support of this feature in the past. We hope its departure won't cause you any inconvenience. ...
How to Determine the Value of Your Blog
2007-08-22 13:15:00
I have a previous post on how much does your site worth, and the result is, to me, simply for fun. It is because the system does not take all the things into the account and does not give an appropiate weighting to different factors. As a result of that, the system gets the inaccurate result. Anyway, it is always good to use human's mind to determine the value instead. When determining the value, what are the most important factors to consider? Below are some of my suggestions that one can use when he or she is trying to sell his or her blog:- EarningsPerpahps, it is the most appropiate and important facator, and characteristic to sell to your customer. To do this your blog will of course need to be earning something to start with. Again there are different opinions around the web as to how to use current earnings to assess a blog's value. Some say you should expect 6 - 8 months earnings as a price (i.e. a blog with a daily income of $100 would sell for between $18,000 and $25,000), ...
