Kansas Hits The Chasers Like A Tornado and Contest Details!
2007-10-01 00:28:59
Where do I start? I honestly don’t know. I guess I’ll just break down each topic in one or two paragraphs. Let’s start!Earnhardt vs Kyle Busch:Racing incident, nothing more! Kyle was a little defensive after, and understandably so, but it was interesting to see him try and stir the pot with his comments about Dale having to work with these people next year and how they won’t be impressed with him because of this, etc.Hey Kyle, still a little bitter are we? Fortunately I can see that what you said was nothing more than your underdeveloped maturity showing its ugly head - again. Grow up!If I were Rick Hendrick I would be glad to see Kyle go, but I would make sure to hire him back in about 5 - 10 yrs when he matures as a driver, because he will be absolutely killer out there. Kyle is a very good driver, potentially one of NASCAR’s future superstars, and will be once, or if, he matures. Look what Tony Stewart has done since he ‘matured’ (some might ...
The new Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X
2007-09-30 21:56:52
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation today launched the Lancer Evolution X high-performance 4WD sedan, at dealerships throughout Japan. It features a new platform, engine, and exterior and interior designs. Models fitted with the Twin Clutch SST transmission are due to be launched towards the end of November. “Fast as possible yet safe” was the development goal for the new Lancer Evolution. To that end Lancer Evolution X is loaded with the very latest in automotive engineering technology, including the S-AWC (Super All Wheel Control) vehicle dynamics control system and the newly developed, power-efficient Twin Clutch SST (Sport Shift Transmission). The Lancer Evolution X is powered by a new turbocharged engine. It has a new high-output and lightweight 4B11-type 2.0-liter 4-cylinder 16-valve DOHC MIVEC unit with aluminum block, used in the Galant Fortis. The engine generates more torque at 422 Nm (43.0 kg-m)/3500 rpm and has better response than its 4G63 predecessor. It is also ...
Results of FreeCulture.org bylaws voting
2007-09-30 18:22:20
The votes are: 13 for, 1 against, and 4 votes I couldn’t count in the real total. This brings to a close a hard process that I dropped out of because it was so hard, and it should set the stage for more clarity in the role and activity of FreeCulture.org. Here are the votes I received in no particular order: Chapters voting for the bylaws were: UNC Chapel Hill, Swarthmore College, Brown Free Culture, the American University in Cairo, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, NYU, Virginia Tech, University of Southern California, Chadwick Free Culture, Seattle University Law Free Culture, Florida State University, Northeastern Free Culture, Free Culture 5C. Chapters voting against the bylaws were: Harvard College. Groups not yet registered with us but sending in votes (all were for ratification) claimed to represent: Northwestern University, Monterrey, University of Chicago. Chapters voting late (all were for ratification): Columbia University. (One thing I’ve learned from this, wh ...
Notify Unconfirmed Subscribers Plugin release
2007-09-30 14:33:40
That is when the idea to develop this plugin came to my mind, it took two days of my time out of my other work but it was worth it, I can say so because it was never more easier than to have such a functionality inside my WordPress admin panel itself. Welcome to Notify Unconfirmed Subscribers my 4th plugin yet but a long way from being my last one. What is Notify Unconfirmed Subscribers? Many users simply do not verify and thus leaving a lot of readers who do want to read your feeds cannot due to the verification email going unnoticed or landing in the spam folder. Yo, you are asking me for my FeedBurner username and password, What will you do with it? Will you support other providers other than FeedBurner too? Well of course you can add a feature request at the NUS feature forum so that I can work on other providers. Will it be hard for you to do that? Well no, I created the software such that it is extendable to any number of providers, count me on that I have been in software for al ...

Widget nomenclature
2007-09-30 03:50:56
Widget terminology often confuses newcomers. The variance of terms — widget, gadget, module, badge, button, etc. — can create impressions of a fragmented industry in its early days, not able to agree on anything as simple as a name. In this post I will walk you through the etymology and nomenclature of widgets and its variances. I interpret each term as a separate meaning, not a synonym, depending on the structure and use of widget content. A “widget” is a generic term for a manufactured object. The word first occurs in the 1924 Broadway play Beggar on Horseback as an object with no real value, yet mass produced for common usage. The main character is torn between his poor living as an artist creating things he enjoys, or a job in a factory creating meaningless “widgets.” In economics we reference a widget as a generic object that should not distract from the example at hand. We reference Bob’s Widget Shop instead of Bob’s Donut Shop to f ...

What DEI Should Do For Dale Jr and Budweiser
2007-09-29 10:30:30
The end of the NASCAR season is fast approaching, as are the days of Dale Jr driving the car owned by DEI and sponsored by Budweiser. Both Dale Jr and Budweiser are separating from each other as well as leaving DEI at the end of the season (as if you didn’t know) and for Jr fans it almost seems like the end of an era with all three going their separate ways.I think that DEI can come out of this looking pretty good by stepping it up a bit. What I mean is, DEI should make a special farewell, or last call, or last ride, or whatever you want to call it, to both Dale Jr and long time sponsor Budweiser. They don’t have to drag it out, but they could do a last call one-of paint job for the last race of the season at Homestead.I think it would show a good side of DEI, which at the moment is lacking in the eyes of the Dale Jr fan, and let the season end on a good note as opposed to the bitter one that has been hanging around since May when Jr announced his leaving of DEI at the end ...
Dig-lib looky-likies

Watching the rugby world-cup game between Wales and Fiji this afternoon (what a great game!) I was struck by the visual similarities between Welsh back James Hook and a certain well-known figure from the digital library world…  hey, I bet you’ve never seen them both in the same room at the same time! Does your printer ink cost more than your printer?
2007-09-28 17:13:47
Well that is the question which has a definite affirmative answer and inkShop ordered this review from me to tell the world more about it and also let you know about their own service where you can get the ink cartridges which are manufactured under stringent ISO 9001 / 9002 standards and available at a 30-75% discounted rate. Well buying a printer is not a big deal with manufacturers allowing a hefty discount on the initial purchase. You may be quite happy with the money you saved but in months and years to come you may realize that the amount of money you spend on buying printer ink cartridges may easily overtake the cost of your initial printer purchase. To put things into perspective a HP LaserJet printer with network support and a copier, scanner and fax costs $505 in a best buy store, now that’s quite a deal and no doubt you may get the printer at a much cheaper cost too. Many printer manufacturers like Lexmark also have adapted a technology where they put in a chip inside ...
WPAU updates and bug reporting

A slight change in reporting bugs has to be followed, instead of adding a bug please use the support forum instead of adding your bugs in the comments, this will help me find and fix the bugs faster. Right now I have to go through all the comments and find the bugs and fix them. That’s it I am always ready to support all the plugins that I create, with your help I can do it better. Not Quite NASCAR, But Close …
2007-09-28 04:18:10
In case you didn’t know NHRA Funny Car driver, and 14-time Champion, John Force had a severe crash on Sunday. If you go to youtube I’m sure you can find video of it.You know, the crash didn’t seem all that bad, granted it was a hard lick, but there have certainly been more spectacular Funny Car crashes with lesser injuries in the past. John’s crash was sort of like the fatal Dale Earnhardt crash at Daytona 6 years ago. It didn’t look that bad, yet Dale lost his life.John’s injuries are quite substantial, yet not life threatening, and he is most certainly done for the rest of this NHRA season. No chance for that 15th Championship this year - maybe next year, but then again maybe not. Given what has just happened to him and fellow driver/employee/friend Eric Medlen, who lost his life earlier this season in a Funny Car while doing a practice run in Florida, I don’t know if John will get back in the car. Certainly if the desire is there he stands a ...
